As soon as I heard this version I knew I needed to use it in my Curse of Strahd campaign for a pair of vampires luring children out of a village. Amazing work, and I hope my players get the same creepy yet enchanting feeling when I use it. I will of course give full credit to you both for the amazing vocals and music.
Still loving this cover in 2024. Not sure if you'll consider it a compliment but, I love Billie Holiday and this just reminds me of her haunting beauty and a call to stand for change. Strange Fruit was Billie Calling for change . this one is too. Courage can be shared in a song , when you feel it .
Margaret sat across from her daughter. The girl’s head was bowed in fear, not a cowering fear, but as if she was so angry she feared herself and what she might do. “I’m so sorry,” Margaret whispered, “I didn’t know he would harm you.” The woodsman had been abusing girls for years now, before killing them and hiding the bodies. It was Margaret’s daughter that had managed to escape with…unforeseen help. “Who would have guessed that those beasts would save you?” The girl’s head shot up. “I was hurt by a beast, not the wolves.” “Yes, you’re right. My mistake.” “We’ve all made mistakes. Luckily those mistakes haven’t yet gotten me killed.” The girl rose from her chair, her porridge untouched. She strode over to the front door, taking her cloak off its hook. “Greta, my little riding hood, where are you going?” A wolf’s howl could be heard in the distance. “Why, to Grandmother’s house. There’s nothing to fear now,” Greta explained, smiling softly. “Greta, they haven’t yet caught him.” “The wolves will.” Greta threw on her red hood and walked out the door, heading to the trail once again Except now, she wasn’t alone.
This video is exactly why I love you guys so much. You are quickly becoming my new favourite duo, and it perfectly sums up the love behind the music and the Celtic vibes behind a lot of your covers. Keep it up!!
I want to unlike this just so I can click "like" all over again (and again). Absolutely beautiful... This song is very close to my heart, as it reminds me of my good friend Aaron, who passed away too young nearly six years ago. Thank you for covering this aching, soaring, bittersweet gem.
Magic, excitement, enchantment, comedy, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. Come, Little Children. Spooky, enchanting and soothing performed by the siren witch, Sarah. I love it. Take me away into a land of enchantment. I never give up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I knew, especially those from my childhood. I am like Peter Pan and have his youthful spirit. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time. And I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like Tinker Bell, and the other fair folks. There is magic in the air. No growing up! 🧚🧚♂️🧚♀️
My Dad always knows when Im listening to this because I wind the windows of the car down and hold my hand out to feel the wind whipping past my skin - I have a tender soul according to my parents and they dedicated the original version of this song to me when I was tiny
I sense there's something in the wind That feels like tragedy's at hand And though I'd like to stand by him Can't shake this feeling that I have The worst is just around the bend And does he notice my feelings for him? And will he see how much he means to me? I think it's not to be What will become of my dear friend? Where will his actions lead us then? Although I'd like to join the crowd In their enthusiastic cloud Try as I may, it doesn't last And will we ever end up together? No, I think not, it's never to become For I am not the one
