I'll just tell everyone here. I lifted my Trek (2021 base) 1.5" . I love the lift but I think if you went 22565r17 with an aggressive tire you could achieve the same thing and they look awesome on the car. I have stock size 22560r17 Wildpeaks. Love the tire but with I would have went with the 65s as they are a little higher. The one thing I didn't know before is that this car comes stock with a +40 offset wheel , which keeps the tire and wheel inside the wheel well. I would also go either 0 degree offset and or 235s to have the tire stand out a bit more.
these filter are great on racing cars with high revs......seen a test of these filters (believe it was on youtube) and they do work, low to mid range revs it doesnt do much but at higher revs it makes a diffence. Like you compared running with a mask on, walking and jumping boulders no problem, 100 meters sprint with full power it will be harder to breathe
So, you're just going to work on that car being suspended by 2 cent rubber o-rings in that hydraulic jack. Updated your life insurance! DON'T EVER DO THIS! Use solid jack stands.
I might try this however what I'll do is probably buy a replacement Upper Case (46051FL010) that I'll modify then put the factory one back on if I need any warranty work on it (since I have just under 30,000 miles and wish to keep my warranty).
Nice job! I just purchased a GX and same thing, no tow hitch. Seems like the best option as I don’t really need to take advantage of the full 6500 lb tow rating. Thanks again.👍🏼
Hi, do you warm up the engine before proceeding? Assume yes because otherwise you dont get the oil in the cooling circuit at the front... But then i see you getting your end full of oil without burning yourself...
I have 17 inch on my 2021 base . I have a 1.5" lift. I just saw a Crosstrek with no lift and 22565r17. I thought they looked awesome ! The one I didn't realize is that the stock Trek actually comes with +40 offset wheel. This keeps the tire closer to the inside of the car. I'd like closer to 0 degree offset
Thanks for this. My 2021 Crosstrek provided the challenge on this. Saturday, we were headed north on the interstate and entered a heavy rain area. We maintained speed, and put the wipers on high to get the heavy rain off the windshield. I slowed to get in the right lane and slow a little, and when I did, the wiper blades bot flew off the arms and behind us. Being the calm guy that I am, I was able to shut the wipers off and pull over safely. Had I not been that guy, there very well could have been a crash from this event, This blade design is a bad one. I have never had that happen in any vehicle I have driven, in over 50 years of driving!
Great video, I just finished mine. FYI, I have a 2024 wilderness, so the radiator setup is different, the re is no top access into the area behind the grill. You must remove the grill. However, it is a fairly easy task, I used this video for the grill removal. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZFsJ8DS8_Ds.htmlsi=h6DIa8uk7RO1F27e
Hi Patrick. I have a 2021 Forester with a similar engine set up and this video helped me a lot in understanding how to access the PCV hose and connection points for an oil catch can I am going to install. I am wondering why you chose an oil separator versus and oil catch can? Also, do you know if there would be an warranty issues if installing this system? Our Forester has a lengthy warranty and I don't want to run into nonsense with the dealer if I have to take it there for warranty work.
Listen Kids ,,, these HB Racks are very nice 👍 for the price point 👍.. I didn't install those side screws and rubber washers,, for the rack isn't going to come appart after installation... Wife bought me a long Fender Guitar plate that I installed over the H.Master decal... Recently, l was approached by an individual asking where l bought the Fender rack, and if a Gibson rack was available ... Too Funny 😅😅😅😅 Oh, also purchased HB freight $5 (5'*7') poly tarp and $8 orange straps 4 pack ... Less than $100 for everything 😉😉😉. Our camp chairs , hammocks, tool bag, fishing gear, and canopy fits perfectly inside basket without looking like homeless people 😔😔😔😊😊😊
Patrick thank you for this great video. I just changed my engine air and cabin air filters. Your video was easy to follow and loved your close-up shots and the step-by-step process. I had a little trouble getting my glove box back together, but I did it. I have a 2020 Crosstrek Limited and bought offbrand filters with no problems. My filters looked pretty much like yours did😆 I have your video saved for the next time. Thank you again.
I bought Denso this time and it has the correct airflow indicators just like the one shown in the video. The last brand I that was previously installed had the arrows pointing in the opposite (incorrect) direction. I doubt it actually matters but I will be buying Denso in the future as it has the correct orientation.
Same issue here with the last two brands I bought. If you put it in the direction as shown on the filter, there is no way to attach the filters with thesupplied clip.
Thank you for this. I don't mind taking in for oil change and tire rotation, but if i can minimize that service charge for something i can do on my own without issue, i rather go that route
