Just cleared this whole 4 part thing bc I've been getting really into hyperpop and WOW this was fascinating but also introduced me to sooo much new music. Ik this was three years ago but thankyousomuch for making this!!!!!!
Hearing the music I think I might have found the genre of music that my recent production falls under “great” because I am a straight 20 year old man who likes EDM music and AJR i don’t know how it is that way but I hope for success but I am weird that I will not be welcomed
El Guincho did Hyper-pop already in the 2014's or so when Charli was still doing traditional pop songs... Guess who produced the most hyper-popish albums by Rosalia and Charli ? El guincho

I’m not a hardcore hyperpop fan, so I need the opinion of those who are! 😂 does Cher’s Believe make anyone think of hyper pop? Cos every time I hear it I’m like, this woman was doing those glitchy vocals when it was not cool, ahead of her time really ! Haha
The most unbelievable thing is everybody (out of Japan) only know Nobuhiko Obayashi because of "House"...but throughout his 50 years career he wouldn't made a single one movie like that. And he made true masterpieces ("Tomorrow", "Lonely Heart", "The Rocking Horsemen", "Labyrinth of Cinema", "The Reason"...).
Honestly it's just black production with white female vocals. It's not really new or groundbreaking. It's similar to house music gradually rose to mainstream in the 90s
Some lady Gaga tracks I think are also worth mentioning. Not necessarily that they are hyperpop or were precursors, but they helped prime mainstream audiences for qualities associated with hyperpop: heavy synth, short motifs, themes of consumerism, self-referential to pop/pop culture. Mostly tracks from the fame and artpop including poker face, paparazzi, starstruck, aura, g.u.y., swine, Donatella.
trash. she did not create hyperpop. and gr*mes is the most problematic piece of 💩 of the past 20 years. Alice Glass ran so gr*mes could walk. you also could’ve deep-dived to Aphex Twin, Kate Bush and Gary Numan.
