I want this series and more specifically part 3 and 4, all to be seen by the tik tok commnunity that consumes so much of this music. Also.... JUSTICE FOR HYPERPOP RECORDS.

this series is genuinely important, and i really appreciate how you put the names of the artists up there every time they appear

I’m feeling a parallel vibe with “all my homies hate skrillex” Like in the scene when one group or artist makes something and now the whole scene becomes centered around that artist, leaving all those who came before in the dust… but as you said, that’s kinda a product of the music industry. But I really loved how you give a spotlight at the end of newer music by the older artists! Such a good video essay!

As someone who was unknowingly a fan of this scene, I had been following creators like frax, omniboi, sophie etc. Long before i had ever even related those three to each other. I love this scene, making friends on datafruits and during Minecraft concerts is the most fun I've ever had. I'm glad hyperpop is big but i hope people are enjoying it because it's fun and not just pretending to like something for clout.

I started to listen to hyperpop from Sugarcrash. And i want to know and understand more. This is truly educational and I'm happy to be in this listen space with so many brilliant creators. My favorite people in the scene is is Underscores and Jedwill. And i wish I there earlier. I feel like DJ S3RL is officially hyperpop now too. If it goes by Spotify and the new wave of the future. I wish I could define something as a thing because that's who I am. Hyperpop is amazing, digicore and bubblegum bass are also favorites of mine. It's truly just fascinating to finally "have" my "genre" of music.

This video series has been AMAZING, thanks so much to you and everyone involved for this! ❤ I personally think that there's a parallel to be made between Hyperpop and Experimental Hip Hop (JPEGMAFIA, Death Grips, Injury Reserve, Clipping, etc). While Hyperpop is mainly dominated by white LGBTQ+ people, experimental hip hop is mainly dominated by black people. The two genres share a lot of similarities in terms o sound, internet influence, community and political ideas. Maybe what we need is to build bridges between the two communities and create something even more powerfull and inclusive

Agreed-you even see a similar divide within hyperpop. The emerging SoundCloud Digicore scene is filled with POC artists, vs the predominantly white PC music-adjacent side of things. Big point of this series was to try to bridge that gap and show how it’s the same community.

For me, hyperpop is a genre just like EDM and Pop. It's actually "stealing" some of other major genres. Anime rave Bubblegum bass Brostep Nightcore/step Etc Originated from Jpop And got mixed from DJ S3RL, UwUstep genres and Just Jpop still. Finally getting to AG Cook 100 Geccs and Charlie XCX and now with the new wave of the future, Jedwill, Underscores and so many wonderful talented artists going along. That's my thought on HyperPop right now.

Adding on my comment, For my full understanding, Hyperpop was always there, It didn't establish a genre because it was either Punk or EDM, Around the 80s with their Electronic sounds and synths that come along and people secretly playing with it and having fun, We might never know who these people are with their music. But around early 2010 EDM began to grow, Dubstep was a thing, Hyper Feelings became a thing, Hardstyle and Hardcore all these genres within EDM, it was a new start of an era. Skrillex making Dubstep mainstream was a thing back then, But it "died off" for favors of the upcoming Kpop sorta, That became popular and everyone started listening. Kpop was also an influence of Jpop, and From my previous comment, JPOP is actually the beginning of the electronic hyper wave in my opinion. They always been obscure and unique and that fleshed out into the wide world, creating off branches as Anime Rave (DJ S3RL) UwU/Anime/Brostep Bubblegum/future bass Anything Future at all Is for me considered Hyperpop. and other genres with Punk and cloud rap mixed in. Anything Night/daycore/step is also a form of Hyperpop. What i find a beautiful description that might change in the future when It becomes more mainstream is; "HyperPop: An underground Genre mixed with lots of EDM and Punk, creating an Unique sound full of intensity and calmility from Pitchswitching and bassboosting" It doesn't really define it course of "This needs to sound hyperpop because It needs to be EXTREME BOOST and HYPERPITCH DIFFERENCE" but It can also be calm and happy, melodramatic. You can take "xXXi_wud_nvrstøp_ÜXXx (Remix)" from 100 geccs ft Tommy Cash & Hannah Diamond but also Dry Land 2001 from Underscores ft Knapsack. And They'll be in the same genre of Hyperpop. I think that's concluded my opinion and thoughts on the Hyperpop scene.
