On caulking, I learned from another finisher to spray with slightly soapy water before smoothing with your finger creates a much cleaner and even appearance in the end. Just a thought and good job. Love the 46 degree angle tip. Currently adding baseboard and moulding to a newly remodeled room. Cheers.
I'm a painter and have tried all of these but they just don't seem to be long term practical for me. It's just more time messing about and also trying to find a safe place for the wet metal lid when these are on (and paint dries on this then drops into the can when put back on). I also find it nerve wracking to shake the paint the next day with the spout one. And with the pourer, you can't leave paint without a sealed lid or it skims which causes crap in your paint so you have to take it on and off all day. It just became easier to wipe the lid crevice each time you pour the paint into your tray or bucket and put the original lid back on. It's quick and easy and if you are diligent with this the paint will be fine for the entirety of the job. Then pour some into a small container like the one at the end (haven't seen them before, they look brilliant) and give to the client. The rest goes back to our local shop which recycles it. I really wish there was a way to have a spout system that was efficient, like maybe the metal lid with one built in that you can pull out similar to an engine or olive oil can. I guess they have tried these in the R&D department, maybe there was too much failure, or manufacture cost.
I'm babysitting my neighbor's house and his toilet has a problem. I cleaned out the jets but no water comes through them. It doesn't act right, it tries to go down twice.
The easiest thing to do is to actually seal it with the seal itself. When you're done you push the silicone and leave it exposed. That silicone will cure with oxygen outside of the tip and it will be extremely easy to remove the next time you use it. You can cover it with tape if you don't want to make a mess. You don't need any specialty products.
I usually ozze a bit of caulk out and just throw the nozzle away when I need to use it again and the plug goes with it. I'll give those condoms a try, looks like a great solution in a tiny package.
This is one thing that irritates me, wasting a tube of caulk because of a clog. Seal a tubes do not work. I'll try the caulk caps. Thanks for the video
Got one to install and getting a second. 4 Women access this house on a regular. We still use TP but I know it will be way less. Thanks for the tutorial. It is clear step by step.
Great video and explanation! I watched your video and went to the hardware store right after, and now I have installed my first set of gutters as of today. Thank you!
The polymer sand, available in Lowes? Also the side walk, is it belong to city? Two side walk are uneven. Last year I called city to prune tree belong to city, they ignore it.if I CALL CITY to fix side walk, they ignore it too. Can I use the sand to make it even ? What else can I do? I am 70 years old.
I had them replaced twice by AC guys in the last 4 years. They charged $250/each. Then a few months ago, the capacitor started acting weird again, so I decided to replace it myself. When I open up the unit, I noticed that the capacitor that they used was underrated for the unit. They supposed to get the 40 +5MFD, but they installed 35 +5MFD instead. I guess that’s the reason it failed again and again within a couple years. I ordered 2 from Amazon, using 1 and 1 spare just in case. They costed me $10-15 a piece. Replacement is quite easy, but please be careful. Make sure you turn off the main circuit and for the AC, and use the power tester to check as well.
Never EVER EVER do this, 2 big mistakes here. Tape will create a lip which the water will sip behind and soapy water prevents the caulk to adhere 100%. Use a caulking tool kit :). Stop sharing bad information, i lost $$ because of this...
I had good experience with aluminium tape. After l'm done with work I unscrew nozzle, put a bit of aluminium tape on the outlet and screw nozzle back. Typical adhesive tapes (or "plastics" in general) are air permeable, metal isn't. But TIL about caulk caps, I'm gonna give them a go (if I'll be able to get them here where I live). Less messier than my solution.
Just fixed my Pool heat pump by replacing a capacitor. For sure I thought it was the compressor that failed bc it tripped the CB. Thanks for this channel. Repaired with a $25 cap!
I broke my neighbors wheelbarrow. It just cracked all the way in the middle! 🤦🏻♀️ I apply casts for a living for broken bones and she was like “Hey do you think I could cast it?” I wasn’t sure but that’s what made me look for videos of how to fix cracked plastic. I watched many videos, yours is the only one that shows which method is strongest. I was so surprised they had kits so I got one. Doing the fix today. I used a soldering iron at first. It was working but I don’t know if it was too hot but it didn’t feel like I would be able to fix it with that. I’m super excited to use my plastic welding kit! I got the same one as you. 😂. I liked and subscribed, I even sent this video to my dad, he was really impressed that there’s a way to fix broken or cracked plastic.
Sure this would work but youre also stopping so much water from entering the soil of your yard and I'm pretty sure you cant do this on city property aka the sidewalk
