Typical musicians that have no idea what singers deal with. Health, colds, exhaustion and travel. The voice is not a machine. Bruce is the absolutely irreplaceable, clones, no disrespect, but Bruce is the one & only. Up the Irons 🤘🏼 🤘🏼
I've been listening to Iron Maiden since there first LP and still listening to them. I even have the picture LP NUMBER OF THE BEAST. BUT IRON MAIDEN IS THE BEST BEFORE MATALICA OR MEGADETH. IT'S TRUE METAL NOT SPEED METAL. UP THE IRONS
after their first 5 albums I was such a QR fan...since Chris left the group they have done nothing memorable and with all the issues concerning Geoff and Scott, time for QR to enter the history books
I’ve known one of the members for 30 years (the down-to-earth one), and I’m not a fan of the music. He invited me to a couple shows backstage & I hung out in the bus a bit. I only wanna say one thing: That singer was/is/always will be a delusional gomer. He walked around (I’m talkin just me, a couple broads, and the band) like he was being put upon to even be AROUND the other cats. I stage-whispered to my friend, “What a _DICK!”_ & he didn’t disagree-his facial reaction said it all. I feel bad for the fans. 🤷♂️✌️🤟
Who wrote this narrative? Great video but the opening track to Empire is NOT about DeGarmo reflecting on his absent father. THAT song is "Bridge" and is on a completely different album. The opener to Empire ("Best I Can") is about a child who has an accident with a firearm which leaves him in a wheelchair, and how as a young man, he now goes through life striving to keep head up.
Wow, I know this is 3 yrs old, but I’m just now seeing this. Great little doc! And one more thing, Brave New World is still one of Maiden’s greatest albums. I think it deserves to be mentioned along with what they did in the 80’s….
Outside of the visual aesthetic, i just don't find it very original. I thought Cirice was made by Alice in Chains when i first heard it without knowing anything about Ghost. I like it, but people really are hyping it up to undeserved heights imo.
Who cares... its 2024...and they are greater than ever. Why is this important for Maidenfans, we stick with those guys for better and worse...we know what happenend and are still here ...🤘🏻😎🤘🏻 And please earn your money with real interesting news about bands
Maiden was the first thing I ever loved, maybe even before my family. My dad was a fan and they are involved in my first memories. Anyway, for my birthday in 97 AND 98 my parents got me tickets to see the band but they canceled both times. I was so disappointed but it ended up working out as Bruce and Adrian came back and I got to see the classic lineup in 99 as my first concert. It was perfect.
I saw at least 7 of their shows in the 80s. Tate was flawless live. In fact the whole band was. You know how live stuff is never as clean as the studio cuts? Well they were. It was astonishing.
When you tell me 'ballads in metal', especially of the heavier variety the first band that comes to my mind is Metallica, but not for Nothing Else Matters but instead their original ballad: Fade to Black. Fade to Black was(and still is of course) such a powerful song, especially for its time and considering the story behind it, and it absolutely became 1 of their absolute classics among their massively successful discography at large. To this day it's 1 of their most beloved songs.
I first watched this video 12 or 13 years ago. I picked out the genres I liked. Now the list is expanded. I must say, the genres are well represented. But I would say that the examples themselves are great, because when you try to listen to something in a certain genre, you don't immediately stumble upon something you definitely like. But now I like absolutely everything in the video. I rewatch it in its entirety at least once a year when I remember it. Thank you so much for it. It still delivers.
Then why did they go through a lengthy court battle over the names. I talked to Geoff several times about it. He wasn't able to elaborate on it very much back then. But he lost the court case. They picked up a new singer & went on. Why didnt you cover any of that
Thanks for this video a lot) I recently discovered this band and this gave me a lot more understeanding of the situation! (Also still dead after Papa lll with kazoo)
