Man I'm glad you're back! I think you may underestimate how much your "entertainment"-videos actually meant to people like me who first heard it back in the day. I always viewed those as very creative pieces of art that did set you apart from all other artists out there back then. I mean, I also love tracks like Accelerate or Remember Luna but I think the piece that had the best marriage between the two styles was "Interva". Very artistic and beautiful and yet telling a clear story, following a distinct concept, all in one epic instrumental. Still my favourite of yours. I will surely watch what new stuff you can come up with. Definitely looking forward to it. All the best and good luck with the upcoming videos and music!
Interva is my personal favorite to this day, I love it more than my EP if I'm honest. I don't think I was ever in a more creative state of mind and I keep looking for the same level of muse ever since. Maybe some of it will show soon... hopefully! Thanks for all the kind words
@@RazBenAri I came to the comments to post exactly Yan's comment: Your "genres of metal" and other "entertainment" videos started from an idea, but they were always incredibly well performed original work as well. Constraints breed creativity, and being able to make really awesome, enjoyable music WHILE ALSO going through all the transitions and different styles, and make it sound cohesive, man, you were doing something that was god tier level. I can see why you would want to do "normal" music, but for my money, those videos demonstrated a higher level of creativity and skill than anything I've seen anywhere before or since. I love your instrumental work as well, but those videos will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for this video especially, I'm super glad to hear that you've moved beyond worrying too much about the popularity and more about moving forward!
10 years, woah! I would say it's definitely the right time for the proper Remastered 4K version of "10 genres", "evolution", "around the world" all of them! 🤘
I don't really remember, but I think I might to be the one who reuploaded your video to the russian social network VKontakte in 2010. Back then I was obsessed with learning a guitar and everything around (but somehow became a bass player). I liked your video a lot and wanted to share it with all my friends. Of course, I placed a link to your RU-vid channel, so people would know the author. Still I hope to sometime pick a guitar and learn your composition (though your Rapidshare link isn't working now, haha). After all these years I still remember most parts of the track and I can say that you played an important role in forming my music taste with "10 genres of metal" and "Time signature madness". Thank you, Raz Ben Ari!
No hard feelings man! I was spooked by the reuploads back in the day, but looking back it was only a good sign. Thanks for all the support all this time!
That video(10 genres) was one of my first big inspirations when I was starting to learn guitar and i remember struggling for hours learning the guitar pro tab to that song. Years later now I still play guitar and i can play that song out of pure memory, thanks for sticking with it man!
Man, I remember buying your EP along with the tabs and having the absolute best time just jamming along. So awesome to see you posting again and I wish you the absolute best for the future. Cheers from Australia.
Nice to hear from you man !!😀 Can’t wait to see your new content. Hope the new album is progressing well; I really liked what you sent me a few years ago.
So good to have you back, Raz! 10 genres has been on my favorites playlist since I first saw it on MetalSucks. That prog metal riff still rips to this day. Looking forward to future content!
Hello, Raz! It's great to hear that you are coming back to your channel) Don't be afraid to share your passion, just remember there will always be people who love your songs and support you. Because your music is so special to many fans all around the world. As for me, I wanna thank you for the masterpieces like "Reminiscence" and "Interva"! Wish you all the best and looking forward to your new vids!
I'm glad you are back. When you first started your channel I had just moved abroad to pursue higher education. As a passionate metalhead, music was my company in a distant foreign land. I watched your videos religiously back then. I am happy for your new project and new ambition. To see you and KillrBuckeye upload videos, truly takes me back.
Hello Sir, If I got you right you were refering to "10 Genres of Metal in 3 Minutes" as a "joke video". I think it is legitimate art. I put it in a playlist and watched it a couple of times already. Hope you´re doing well in these crazy times.
You're right, maybe I worded myself poorly. What I meant is that it had a specific idea behind it and wasn't "just music". I appreciate the nice comment!
I still have that video's audio track on my playlist at vk.com. Sometimes i just listen to it over and over in repeat mode. PS: I just found this channel and checked out couple of videos - i mostly like every single track here, that's rare. subscribed
So interesting I had an opposite reaction to most. Your “joke videos” were of course awesome, but I REALLY liked your original music. Even followed you on twitch in hopes I could catch you creating something live.
The people who stuck around mostly enjoyed the music videos I think, it's just that way fewer people were clicking them in the first place. I imagine it has to do with the titles - the joke videos had more appealing ones, whereas the music videos just had the names of the songs.
Hi mate! I'm pretty sure I subscribed to you 10 years ago, because of your first viral video. To be honest - I've never listened to that EP you made, as you said, I was primarily looking for entertainment. Looking forward to the new content!
still one of my fav albums. and im still greatfull you gifted me that album for free Raz. we go back. still alwats trying to get you as a signed chapman artist
The full folk metal track was a lot of fun to make, but I can't say it's my comfort zone. My style is way more felt in "dual guitar magic" and "time signature madness", if we're going by the super old videos. Thanks man.
Wow. This is actually a really good vid. Can I just say one thing without coming off wrong? Can you pllleeeeeeaaassseeee clean your fretboards? 🙏 I only just started learning to play last year so I'm still pretty new to it all. 👍
You were not forgotten Raz. I still remember the day I covered your "Spasm" piece and you uploaded it to your facebook page. The quality of the video was pretty bad looking back at it and pretty embarrassing because it was an over lay on the original track. The cover(cringe): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bJ5Xje3a3FE.html&ab_channel=PinaCoco
I got some first hand knowledge of that "unknown band" for you ;) Some of the band mates were actually very happy for you and felt like they were holding you down. They asked the others to just let it go.
