on my great grand fathers side, his great grandmother was a Howard, the first female in a direct line of males that stretches through all of the dukes mentioned, and all their fathers before (Notable Howards as far back as around 1000) and all of their sons up until my great grandfathers great grandmother.
Are any of you on the DNA results, because my family has a copy of the lineage back to Trojan war? It would be nice to learn from one another to see if we are the true royals over Windsor
yes, but the "howard" the English and modern name. I believe it goes back to "hewerd" and "heward" all the way back in scotland. I believe clan heward was in the battle for scottish independence along with the likes of william wallace. This is based off my grandmothers genealogy studies, so take this with a grain of salt. Just a family tale passed down to me.
Just found out I'm related to the Howard's, arundels, fitzalans, Tudors, grays, and seymour families. I forgot to add Stewart as well. Mary queen of scots is in my family line as well
@@rhaellia3661 The Earl of Arundel was and is a title of English nobility, rather than a family name/surname. The title is currently held by the Duke of Norfolk, who belongs to the Fitzalan-Howard family.
You study the history, you dont judge it. The second point is what most historians today lack. The ability to imagine how the context around any given events were, and understand history by it.
I always think my husband should have been a history teacher. He has such a passion for it and is so animated when he talks about history. He knows little things that others don’t that keep you interested. Unfortunately he isn’t a academic and is dyslexic. What a waste though
@for real for real that he wasn’t a history teacher? Some people can be the best teachers of one subject. That subject can be their passion. Unless they are academically able to get a degree to teach all subjects then they won’t ever be able too teach that passion. You don’t think that is a waste?
A historian ought to be exact, sincere and impartial; free from passion; unbiased by interest, fear, resentment or affection; and faithful to the truth, which is the mother of history; the preserver of great actions, the enemy of oblivion, the witness of the past, and the director of the future.
