I do things kind of the long way. I start a project and work on it on cam. If this kinda stuff is up your alley, grab a hot beverage and sit down and let's do some things together.
Hey man great video really educational, I'm in a bit of tough situation, so I got this Zalman 1000w EBT series modular psu, came with only mobo and eps cables, and I did find a pci e cable on the market which turned out to be a corsair type 4, the issue was the psu side of the cable had a double wire in the bottom, and when I probed the psu to test voltage I found that the top is 12v and the bottom is gnd, so should repin the cable and separate those double wires ? Plz help
Hey thank you for posting this video!! I have a non-hotswappable keyboard and two switches/letters are not working well, I was just wondering how to replace them with a soldering kit; i have used one before but I was kind of worried, since it should be a precision job. Thank you for the visual guide. :)
thanks i dident know that the cpu mattered but now i know why some of mine dont start up to i have the same post analizer to but no numbers come up only all the lights except two And good job on the recapping
For testing drives, I'd use a relatively more modern system that still supports IDE like Nehalem. In there, a Windows 7 or 10 system would happily run a surface scan with Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. Or, one can use Hiren's BootCD and run Gateway GWScan off of it which is almost the same as Data Lifeguard Diagnostics. It runs a surface scan, it's faster, and it's on a more stable system.
Nice looking case, should have used a IDE HDD instead though, and put a PCI slot exhaust fan in it. Personally where ram is concerned I max out whatever the specs for the motherboard say, you get better picture quality that way. If you want USB slots there are cards for that, and you have lots of empty PCI slots. I use a USB drive for files I need like game patches, or any other updates I want. There are tweaks within Windows 98 to increase speed, I'm not going to list them all here; but, more ram is always Better!
Ah yes X58. I had an i9 920 my uncle gave me, and eventually the memory controller on it died. Found a xeon processor on ebay to fit the socket for $11 and kept her going, lol.
if its had being me i had remove that usb 3.1 card and put the nvme disk there instead and then go for the other 1070 also but i dont know if it vas space after you removed that card
I think 400grid dry was too much, those scratch will not be polished by finer grid, I'd started with 600 wet or 800 wet, also all pass make with wet paper never dry ones.
Interesting layout of that SS7 motherboard, where all extension slots at their rear side are unblocked by components so long extension cards can be plugged in everywhere.
iam here because i just bought new switches for my rk61 thinking it is hot swappable... it turns out that i bought the old one which is the non hotswappable variant hopefully iam not the only one
Honestly, fu*king PCI graphics cards 🤷🏻♂️ I usually see people complaining about AGP cards being unreliable, but for me, PCI cards are a huge pain in my ass.
i haven't been on the hunt in years this kinda gives me the itch haha period logical pairings would be socket 462 w GF2MX slot 1 w TNT2 M64 or Rage Pro (SIS 6326 is painfully slow) socket 3 w Matrox Millenium or S3 Virge DX and the ESS AudioDrive
Nice pile of parts. I'd like to have one of those SIS 4mb video cards. And the matrox card isn't bad either. I have yhe 8mb pci and 16mb agp millennium cards. Nice selection of 66mhz slot1 boards. The green dell may be a 66/100mhz board. If so it'll overclock.
The ess audio drives were pretty good sound blaster clones and should be good for dos since it is isa. I liked that last slot 1 board out of an xps. I've never had a yamaha xg card that worked. It is pretty cool to find integrated like that. Old sound cards aren't so cheap anymore. I've started hording the pci stuff thinking they will go up like the isa cards have.
ESS Sound Card Have Wavetable Header If Have Wavetable Header You Can But DreamBlaster X2GS On ESS AudioDrive And You Get Roland SoundCanvas Duke Nukem 3D With DreamBlaster X2GS Is Rocks
Crap You Got Yamaha XG Sound Card Great Score ESS And Yamaha Card Are Have Sound Blaster Emulation Sound Blaster 128 Also Have MIDI And Sound Blaster Emulation But Midi Synth Is Weird
One question sir , is by changing switch will remove my problem? My problem when u it will become uiop:/ and if u press backspace it will backspace+enter.
thank you! i almost forgot about my first keyboard, the “j” stopped working so i looked and it seems like there isn’t enough solder? got a few things on sale, hopefully tomorrow reapplying some will fix it!
