Hi, I am a graduate of The University of Western Australia, Nedlands Campus. I had graduated in July 2023 as a Master of Architecture with specialization in BIM. Started my degree on Feb 2021 during the COVID-19 lockdown and was not able to travel to WA for my studies but did my degree online paying the same high fees for international students. My experience in the first semester was not good as I was singled out for discrimination by a professor in my Architecture Studio unit. A professor named Emiliano Roia was not happy with my design and he accused me of wasting his time and abused me infront of the entire batch saying that he would not allow me to pass the entire semester. This continued for 3 months and gave me trauma and stress. The professor would literally comolete the design for local Australian students if they have doubts but would ignore the requests of Chinese and often Indian students. Had a particular bias to students of Indian origin. Nevertheless, I managed to pass and graduate from this University. I had noticed that in my final semester a professor who was an ex-student of Emiliano showed the same racist bias to international students of Indian/Pakistani origin for example during studio sessions he would not review Indian students work even if they were sitting across him and would call all South Aisan students after explaining the brief to see if we can understand what he is saying as if we are small kids who need babysitting. I have noticed this racism and condescension is directed at South Asians, Africans and sometimes Chinese but mostly towards people of dark skin color in Australia. This is usually perpetrated by professors who follow the left-wing political ideology who belive that non-white students are inferior, uncultured and need to be taught and civilized as if we are not individuals who can think, act and plan our own future. Need to say that the University is dominated by political left wing and most professors, studnet guild members are left wing. They mock Christian students and biblical beliefs to make them look stupid and inferior. If you are a darker skinned individual with Christian beliefs expect more racism from staff and faculty. There are no career fairs and do not expect to find a job after graduation especially if you are an international student. Most of your classmates will be from China and other East Asian countries and they will be incredibly smart, hardworking, kind and helpful. There are few Indians and Pakistani and some Australians but most of your classmates will be from China and East Asia and it was a privilege to study with such incredibly smart and intelligent people.
Love your work mate. Question, I did an MA Fine Art, 2001. (gov sclolarship) at Newcastle uni (today, no more art school UoN) also have B.Ed. D&T (2003) casual teacher in schools today. I wish to do MA fine Art, again? Different focus. At SCU.. or other uni. Is that going to be OK. Are fees covered? For MA? Semi retired, Appreciate your time. Paul
Domestic postgrad is almost all fee paying, except priority areas like health and education. Not sure about fine art. FEE-HELP is available to help pay, but it’s deferred onto tax. Bummed to hear UoN doesn’t offer fine arts anymore, that was a good program.
Hey rob, im doing business in undergrad and deciding between uts and unsw college(alternative entry path) what are your suggestions on the environment, study experience and alternative entry?

Hi I'm from philippines. May I ask how is the culture study in ECU . Im planning to become international student Im done bachelor in mechanical engineering in philippines its super hard. I'm quite interested in Curtin's coastal and marine science, and they really have great world ranking on related field. However, UWA is also high-reputed in this area. If I wanna work in Perth in the future, which university should I choose? Would you like to offer me some suggestions?
Both UWA and Curtin are highly regarded in the West. If you’re looking to work in Perth, one of the major industries is mining and they do employ a lot of environment specialists, including marine and coastal. In this case, Curtin has an advantage because it has one of the world’s leading mining programs.
Is childhood education taught in this campus? I'm 15 so i might change what university I'm going to but this one seems good! :) i don't know much about universitys yet though
@@ChoosingYourUni yeah ik which is why uk is said to be suited to study architecture whereas university of Melbourne is ranked way higher so idrk what to do
Hey rob, what about having a PhD in astrophysics from university of Melbourne.? Any better choice than this in Australia?? What about university of Sydney on the same topic?
Gday from Brazil. Some of my cousins moved to Perth 5 years ago and, recently, another cousin came to this city too, and for a while he is living with them and my aunt with her husband. What i know about perth is that it is a very safe and quiet place compared to other cities like Sydney and Melbourne, and it has high salaries. I am in the last year of school and i am planning to leave Brazil next year and go to Perth too, so it has been really hopefull to search infos about australia after another parent travelled to this country. Wish me good luck mate TAMO JUNTO :))
Legend mate - glad to hear you’ve got good memories! Any chance you could give me a testimonial for my website? Could you DM me on IG? @choosingyouruni
ANU is a great uni - for a long time they were neck and neck with Melb on rankings. In terms of campus, ANU is lovely and spacious and more chilled than UM imo. I love them both.
@@ChoosingYourUni UMelb, established since 22 Januari 1853 is ranked #27 in Best Global Universities with strong academic excellence. Schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence, on the other hand , ANU establised 1 Agustus 1946. Relatively new Uni.
I was at the uni about a month ago and not a whole lot has changed on campus. New rankings are out and the uni has risen a little, but not enough to justify a whole new video tbh
I applied for Msc in Data Science in Deakin University and I got the offer letter. Is the program good here? Does it have good employability rate for this in Melbourne? Which universities would you suggest for the same?
Murdoch, Flinder, Curtin is just one word. Why is one word more attractive in the name of a university, such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, or Columbia?, because it is more marketable and easier to remember.
The name of the university is not interesting and doesn't seem serious or a joke 😂😂😂. Why not call it Queensland State University or something more serious and interesting. because if it is not replaced it will not attract the interest of prospective international students.
Not quite sure what you’re getting at here. The University of the Sunshine Coast is located on the Sunshine Coast (the name of the region), so I’m not sure why that’s strange?
Hello! I wonder what are the best Australian Universities for studying - indigenous culture, community and psychology. Could you recommend any masters progrmas or shorter courses?
Hi! Sorry to be slow replying, this was a really good question so I wanted to think about it. In my view, I think regional universities where there's a closer link between community and the university will tick this box better. There's a long list: Wollongong, Newcastle, Charles Sturt, Southern Cross, CQ Uni, James Cook, Darwin, Tasmania, Federation Uni. I don't want to recommend a specific one because that really depends on your other interests and preferences.
Hey rob, I'm looking to pursue a masters of data science in Australia, I have to choose between University of Queensland, University of Western Australia, Monash University and UTS, which one do you reckon would be the best ! Ps: My personal choice is University of Queensland. What do you think of the University of Queensland? For masters in Data science
All of those are great unis with strong programs. UQ is one of my top choices in Oz right now - I just love the uni. Each uni on your list has subtle differences, particularly in regards to industry connections. Ultimately, it depends on your goals and preferences, but I don't know many people who haven't been happy going to UQ!
Hey, Thanks for your campus tour. I got a 50% Vice-Chancellor International Scholarship. I had no idea about the university and this place, so I was unsure about getting admitted to the UniSA Mawson Lake Campus. But I think you saved my day! Your Last line really hit me up "Actually it's pretty fucking awesome". My subject is the Master of Data Science.
Awesome mate. Congratulations. Winning a VC Scholarship is a big deal 🙌 Some people might find Mawson Lakes quiet... it's a bit outside the city. But it's clean, spacious and it feels like a stress-free campus! Glad I could help out a bit!
What was the process for the scholarship, was it automatically given or did you apply for it? Actually I have also applied and got my conditional offer letter. If you could share the process, it would be really helpful.
@@SecretSculptI applied for it, there is a Vice-Chancellor Scholarship form given on their website, you need to fill it out and send it through email along with supporting documents. For details, you can mail them or check their scholarship Page on the authorized website.
@@protoy_roy Thanks for the reply 😊. Actually, I read the requirements for the vice-chancellor 50% scholarship and I don't have a high grade point average in 12th (73.5% best 4) so, I think I am not eligible for that but I will get the 15% one.
