I'm coming to the Burwood campus as an international student for Bachelor's in Exercise and Sports Science in February 2024..was looking at various videos relating to Deakin and your video and playlist really helps and soothes whatever anxiety I am having prior to coming. Thanks mate and Happy New Year!!
Hey brother, I'm searching for a guy like you since last 3 months that where I can get some advice about the course !! I'm happy that I got a human like me
I’d agree that the Geelong and Warrnambool campuses do have a smaller more community-like feel. I’ve studied at both of the Geelong campuses. Also, the city option to the best of my knowledge does not run courses. I’ve been there, but for things like HDR conferences. To clarify, Geelong is not a satellite city of Melbourne, rather a regional city an our from Melbourne by train. Access to Melbourne is a train ride that, depending upon which station you get on at is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Be prepared for the sensory overload of Southern Cross Station. It’s loud, and there is no directionality of sound as all of the train sounds reverberate off the walls. From a digital accessibility perspective, there is an awareness of digital access. I’m not sure on the university’s status in terms of conformance to WCAG 2.1 (soon to be 2.2). There has previously been a digital accessibility team of which I was a part, and following that, testing was offered in-house. They do have a great print disability service team in the library. Materials are prepared promptly in alternative formats when needed and, in my experience when I was a student, were of high quality.
Which faculty were you studying in Geelong Deakin university? Is electrical engineering facility good there and what about job opportunities in Geelong?
Hi, I love watching your uni reviews. May I ask which uni would you recommend if I am going to study masters in construction/project/engineering management? Please give me at least 5 options hahaha. And is Deakin Uni and Uni of Wallongong a good choice if ever?
Lots of appreciation for your videos. those really helps. may i ask your opinion about taking a bachelors degree in occupational therapy in deakin? or la trobe is a better option?
Health programs at both those unis are good. I prefer Deakin’s Co-curricular programs over La Trobes (leadership, study abroad, clubs) but LTUs campus is very nice.
Thanks! I’m not sure from a degree perspective, as in which degree is considered “stronger” or has specialisations that suit you, but I really love Deakin for their leadership programs, study abroad and other student engagement activities. That’s not a criticism of La Trobe, just a personal preference in regards to those Co-curricular areas.
That's nice explanation. I have an offer from Deakin. Coming from lesser developed country, the fee is little higher for me around 80k aud for data science. Is it worth or are there other universities with lesser fee and simlar rankings as Deakin?
Hello Rob, could you please inform me about the duration of breaks and summer vacation days for students at Deakin University? I've already cleared my GTE for Deakin. Thank you.
Every uni is slightly different. Here are Deakins: www.deakin.edu.au/students/enrolment-and-fees/manage-your-course/handbooks/2024-handbook/2024-trimester-dates
Thanks. Not sure about the specifics of each uni for that program, but as an Allied Health course, the courses must be accredited. That means each course needs to cover similar material and learning outcomes so graduates can have their qualifications recognised. Given that, one of the things I would consider is the difference between Melbourne and Perth as places to live, work and study, plus extracurricular options available to students (both unis are well placed in this regard imo).
Hi. I am aiming to take a bachelors degree once I'm out of high school. Would you recommend Deakin or are there better universities that have better courses and have achievable requirements?
I applied for Msc in Data Science in Deakin University and I got the offer letter. Is the program good here? Does it have good employability rate for this in Melbourne? Which universities would you suggest for the same?
Hey Man I have got 8 months diploma and 2 years of degree for computer science in Swinburne University Would there be any problem in future or any pros and cons of this?
@@ChoosingYourUni I just completed my 12 standard and now I applied to Swinburne University for computer degree. My marks were not fitting in their requirements it was just 2% less so they have me 8 months diploma after that 2 years degree instead of a complete 3 year degree I just want to know would that make any problem like diploma is considered to be less valued then a degree?
Hey man, I've admit letters from University of Adelaide and Deakin University. And my tuition for University of Adelaide is expected to be around $132,000+ for 3 years bachelors in Computer Science While its around $90,000 for Bachelors in Information Technology in Deakin University. I come from a middle class family and I'll be taking student loan to cover up for my higher studies, do you think $42k extra is really justifiable?
Imo no. Deakin is a great program. $42k is huge - you can do a lot with that much coin, like starting a business, investing it, or putting it towards value add educational experiences like learning abroad, internships etc
Hello rob, can you please tell me how how good is the masters of data science program in Deakin University, like the level of teaching, amenities and the job prospects after the degree in Deakin University.
The uni is strong for engineering. Great choice of sub-discipline in terms of jobs and career - those skills will be highly in demand. If you’re talking the Masters, check which campus it’s taught at, I think that might not be at Burwood campus but one of the campuses outside Melbourne.
Two excellent unis. To me, it would depend if you want to be in a big city (Deakin) or if you prefer a smaller location with a pretty bush land campus (UoW).
Hey Rob! I am planning for Masters in Business Analytics, I've got offers from Macquarie , Deakin ,La Trobe and Swinburne which one should I choose , I am totally confused kindly share your opinion.
Sorry, missed this question earlier. I think my order would be Deakin, MQ, Swinburne, LTU. But the gap is pretty small between the first 3 imo. Really depends if you have other criteria, like city, weather, price, etc
