This song is my favorite rock number among T.Rex's later works. Wouldn't this song have been even better if it had been produced by Tony Visconti and had Bill Legend as the drummer? This is me daydreaming. Rock On! 👍
Google Translate: "I'm sorry, the best leave very early in this life." Yes, a lot of the later tracks were quite patchy, in quality - But there were still flashes of outstanding brilliance to be found, imo.
Marc certainly slipped up when he didn't put this out as a single in the UK. Exciting track. In fact, there are many other gems on his albums that would have made better singles than the ones he put out.
Great video. This should have been the first single from the album followed by Sensation Boulevard. Both would have been Top Ten hits and played regularly on the radio today unlike New York City and Dreamy Lady which I don't hear played at all on retro stations.
A good track which should have been a single but I always hated his guitar sound on this one. Far too thin and tinny. Needs beefed up a lot, similar to sound he achieved on The Groover.
That was just the sound they were after ,it's pits stop break curve sound very clever , and nots so tinny if it's played via original first batch vinyl on a really good quality stereo .
One of rocks most original and underated performers and one who's flame now burns brighter than ever as another generation rediscover this new old hero and fall under the spell of that great unexplainable something that made and makes Bolan such a presence and continuing influence in rock and pops star studded but often tragedy filled history
The ballads of the mighty I AM Lxxxx.! Who gonna live And be as big as Marc Bolan. Who Gonna give Me love. Who gonna sing to be as cool as Marc Bolan. Who gonna dance with me, Love. Who sleeping rest the best God bless all of us. Who gonna boogie On love.
What a great song. It's one of those left in the vault. I was brought up in Nottingham UK. I started buying Marc Bolan/T,Rex records when I heard Hot Love. I was still 11. I love Cosmic Dancer and think it's the best album T,Rex made. We lived next door to a young woman called Pat. Probably 18-22 years old. She babysat Marc's son Rolan. 5 or 6 years ago I was cleaning buses at the city terminus, I saw a woman sitting in a bus shelter. I was 100% certain it was Marc's ex baby sitter. I recognised her chipped tooth. I couldn't find the courage to ask her if she Marc's baby sitter. Nobody tributing Marc has got no where near sounding like him. His voice is hard to copy, that's how good he was. Marc would be 76 in September if he was still with us.
I too lived in Notts when T.rex burst onto the scene;this would have been between '72 and '75 ,after which I moved to London.I remember working in the Lace market and listening to radio 1 on a tiny transistor radio. fond memories.
