Thought Bubble are an alt electronic group, based in the remote Shropshire
hills of the UK. Their music swoops through the valleys, plains and mountains of electro-psych - this tight two-piece have established an eclectic sound, layered and mesmeric it’s distinctively their own.
Lyrics, til now, have been relatively sparse in Thought Bubble’s output. But, at the beginning of 2024, synths player Chris Cordwell and percussionist Nick Raybould invited songwriter and vocalist Peter Gelf to join the group. ‘Universe Zero’, their sixth album, is the result. Followers of the group will be relieved to hear that their free musical imagining is unconstrained by the new addition. Gelf’s words and voice seem effortlessly to complement and extend Thought Bubble’s cerebral IDM and euphoric grooves.
Previous releases have impressed the alt electronic cognoscenti, earned excellent reviews in Shindig! and Electronic Sound, and widespread radio, podcast and internet show coverage on BBC 6Music and in specialist alt psych and prog channels. ‘Universe Zero’ will be available as a seven track download release and a limited edition CD.
