At its core, the story of The Hunger Games is about the power of one person to change the world.
Set in the future remnants of the USA in a new nation called Panem, one male and one female "tribute" between the ages of 11 and 18 from each of Panem's twelve districts is forced to participate in an annual competition called the Hunger Games, which is broadcast live throughout the country for the entertainment of the Capitol's wealthy residents.
Now, bestselling author Suzanne Collins and the world of The Hunger Games return in her latest addition to the series: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Be honest. If you were on a car trip , and had the choice to go with ceaser, would you decline? Just imagine saying a joke and hearing “AH HA HA HA!” . He’s the best
What’ll never be hilarious to me is when Peeta says that Haymitch told him Katniss would take a lot of convincing LMAOOO. In the book, our gurl did not believe a single thing about love that Peeta said, and thought Peeta was just acting so they could both get sponsors.😂 Katniss had such a hard life, keeping her family from starvation, worrying that she and her sister were going to be taken away to a community home because depression had left her mom staring at the distance instead of taking care of her two little daughters. Katniss did not believe in pure kindness and love as a motivating factor from other people. (Unless it was her love for Prim, of course).
My absolute favorite quote in the entire book series goes as:”There are still moments that I wake up screaming of nightmares of lost children and Mutts and he clutches a chair in the dining room and refuses to let go but eventually his arms are there and after a while his lips and I feel that tingling again that overtook me in the 1st games and in the Quarter Quell and after when he asks me you love me real or not real I say real”
I just finished watching this franchise (except for the latest one) and drained my tears when the Victors died especially my favorite Finnick.. he's the greenest flag ever in the movies T_T
Nobody knows what it’s like to be told about freedom and rights and community and advancement and opportunities and whatever, and then proverbially having your face stomped into the mud. Katniss should not have ___ her but symbolically she was doing what she knew deep down was right. She was ending the proverbial endless wars and bloodshed. she was ending generational suffering. she knew either way, her people stood no chance with cruel selfish leaders. Im proud of her. Not what she did of course but her heart. it’s tough to follow your heart in a divided society and even in the hunger games world which isnt even real, society was split. she united and saved her people.
I remember reading this part in class back in 8th grade. I remember everyone’s reaction when the bombs dropped and also realized prim was caught and later was like oh shit it was planned to happen
i am literally the BIGEST hunger games fan and this video has me sobbing on the ground because pri was her SISTER!!! but prim sadly passed wich is heartbreaking
Catching Fire a great example of a sequel that improves on its predecessor in many ways. Whether its story, screenplay, characters, performances, tone, or atmosphere (I always liked how the actual battle takes place in a more hostile tropical setting)
Were Katniss's reasons for killing Coin ever made public? If not, what explanation did go down in the history books? This may be answered in the books, which I haven't read yet.
2 things 1 Jennifer Lawrence is not that bad of a singer 2 It crazy that I had no idea what this song had to do with Hunger Games before the new movie (PS I’ve never read the books)
It's amazing how many "Hunger Games" songs apply perfectly to "Madoka Magica". Another series might be "Kingdom Hearts", specifically with Xehanort, who I don't believe to be truly gone.
