@sherwinmackintosh6540 that's awesome, we hope you have an amazing time! They only sell a 2 hour pass at the moment, but we would love to see Cunard offer a weekly pass.
Appreciate this is now a 2 year old video, and thanks for that information so handy as I look to book. You had a toddler at the time, we're planning our trip with a 3 year old, or they will be when we go. Seems like a stupid question, where do they sleep, does that turn into a sofa bed? And finally, what is it like for toddlers on this cruise in general? Thanks.
@Pukenukem thanks for watching and for your kind comment, we really appreciate it 😊 It's definitely not a stupid question at all 😊 you are spot on - the sofa becomes a full sized bed at night (your cabin steward can change it for you). Not every balcony cabin has a sofa bed, but you can see which do on the deck plan on P&O's website (they're marked with a * symbol). And some cabins have a pull-down bunk above the sofa, which we used on our last Iona cruise as we now have 2 children (both beds were very comfy). We've been really impressed with the way that toddlers are catered for on Iona. The children's club is great (we have a tour video on our channel if you want to take a look), plus there are loads of family activities as well as the partnership with Aardman Studios (including Sean the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit character meets). The children's menu in the main dining rooms is pretty good and the children's tea in the buffet is great (they close off a part of the buffet and reserve it for parties with young children). Plus, there is the splash zone, which is great in warm weather 😀 We hope that helps 😃
@@MarinaAndJoeGo Thank you so much, that was very helpful, and I just watched your video on the rooms too. Did you find booking them an issue? We don't want to use them much, our son already spends full time in nursery, but perhaps once or twice to give us some couple time would be nice.
@Pukenukem we didn't really have an issue, and thankfully there was no need to book when we sailed on Iona last May (we are a bit behind on our editing and haven't uploaded all of those videos yet). It's really important to register online before you cruise to make sure you've got a space, but beyond that we just turned up for a session during our last cruise 😊
@@MarinaAndJoeGo You replied just as I was booking the trip, so perfect timing to get that information, thank you. We're going in early may! Very excited.
We absolutely drank in these sea views while sailing back to Southampton on MSC Virtuosa earlier this year! After an abandoned port visit at Falmouth due to bad weather, we were so surprised to find ourselves gently sailing through the calmest seas we've ever seen. What's the most serenity sailing you've ever experienced?
Thanks for the detailed video. We are looking to book Balcony Standard. We are a family of 3 with a 5 year old boy. Will there be an extra bed for the kid ?
@SharmiRavi-b2x thanks for watching and for your comment, we really appreciate it 😊 Iona has several 3-person balcony cabins (marked on the deck plan with a * symbol). The 3rd bed is the sofa, which the cabin steward will make up into the bed for you in the evening and put back as a sofa in the daytime. Ilthe sofa bed has a proper mattress and, in our experience, is really comfy and has plenty of space. We've got footage of the sofa bed on our "P&O Iona - Le Havre, Sindhu, & Splash Zone" video as well as our Shower Curtain Cruise Hack video if you'd like to have a look? We hope that helps 😊
@richardbisset8323 oh fantastic! It's almost always cheaper to book in port instead of a ship excursion, however if you are on a ship excursion and are delayed getting back the ship will wait for you (it won't wait if you have booked your own thing). We normally book independently and have never had a problem, but it's worth knowing 😊 If you do go ashore independently make sure you know the all aboard time and are back with plenty of time to spare 😀 We generally check the excursions offered to see if we want to do any, then look on trip advisor to see how much it would cost to arrange it ourselves. Sometimes, the ship will offer an excursion that can't be booked any other way (we did one in Stavanger for this exact reason). Hope that helps - have an amazing time!
@@CloudyyBoba-gv5cp absolutely - there's more than enough there that you can have a great time without paying for extra 😊 we hope you have a brilliant trip
Come and take a look at the buffet dining venue on Cunard's newest cruise ship, Queen Anne! We loved this buffet - it has a classy, open feel, and the served stations are a really nice touch (no more worrying that another guest has manhandled your food!). The food was tasty and there was a really good range on offer. To see more of our Queen Anne visit as well as content from Queen Victoria (plus an upcoming trip on the legendary Queen Mary 2), make sure you've subscribed to our channel and turned that notification bell on 😊
Controversial opinion - we love using the gym on a cruise ship! It's not always possible to fit a work out in on a busy itinerary, but it's many ships have brilliant facilities on offer Queen Anne is no exception - we really like the gym on Cunard's newest ship and can definitely see ourselves having a pre-lunch workout 😁 Do you use the gym on a cruise?
The Commodore Club is a firm favourite of Cunard passengers and can be found across all 4 ships in the fleet. Take a look with us around the newest iteration, onboard the stunning Queen Anne. Have you sailed on Queen Anne? What did you think?

@CruisingColemans it is absolutely stunning! We were only on for a few hours visiting a family member who's part of the crew, and we're very jealous of everyone getting on! Thats very exciting! Where are you sailing to?
@angelahorton5745 thank you so much and for your very kind comment, as ever we really appreciate it 😊 It is definitely worth it if you can - it is so peaceful and serene (and those heated beds are sublime 👌) We have always planned to book a cruise on Queen Anne, but having had a look around, we've realised that this needs to be sooner rather than later 😁
Having stayed in both grade cabins - apart from perhaps a meter in length, couldn’t tell them apart. Both balconies were exactly the same. You can’t compare a balcony on the side of the ship with a bow balcony - they’re completely different even if you compared deluxe with deluxe.
Thank you so much for watching and your kind feedback, we really appreciate it 😊 We've had 3 cruises on Iona and have found the beds to be really comfy each time, including the sofa bed (which very conveniently gets turned back into a sofa in the daytime, which doesn't happy on every cruise line). We've never had any issues with noise either, although we do take care check the deck plan before booking and pick cabins away from noisy areas like the theatre, night club etc. We hope that helps 😊
Have you ever been on a waterpark in the middle of the sea?! This was our first time onboard MSC Virtuosa and loved the Safari Aquapark 😊 it was a huge hit with our children too, who probably would have spent the whole cruise here if they could 😅 We've got plenty more MSC Virtuosa content to come, plus videos from P&O and Cunard already on our channel, so make sure to subscribe to catch them
Thanks for the video, very informative. We are going on the Iona next year, my youngest will be 5 years old. He has autism and will require a 121 parent/carer with him - do you know whether I'd be allowed in with him? It would be a shame if he were to miss out on the fantastic facilities.
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind feedback, we really appreciate it ☺️ We've messaged P&O to double check, but we remember parents filling out additional needs requirement forms when taking their child to The Reef for the first time. We will let you know as soon as we hear back ☺️
A cruise balcony on a sunny day - it's hard to think of a more relaxing place for a cup of tea 😊 Where would you must like to enjoy a cup of tea? Or would you prefer something a little stronger?
Check out some of the highlights from our most recent day in Rotterdam, this time sailing in on the stunning MSC Virtuosa! We have a full vlog series coming soon, as well as videos from our overnight port stop in Rotterdam on P&O Iona already on our channel, so please subscribe for more! Have you visited Rotterdam? Let us know in the comments 😊
Come sail with us into adventure! We love a sunset at sea - views like this are part of what make cruising so magical. Do you enjoy a sunset at sea? Let us know in the comments 😊
Hi, great video. I just wondered if the outdoor area for surfers and splashes is fully enclosed or not? It looks as though they could easily climb out of the outdoor area onto the deck?
Thanks for watching and for your kind feedback, it means a lot 😃 Yes, the outside area is fully enclosed with a wall topped by glass panels that can't be climbed. There is a gate but only Reef staff can open it, and the children are always supervised when using this space. We hope this helps 😊
Thanks for watching and for your question 😊 No, you don't need to bring shower gel. Each cabin has shower gel and shampoo in the shower - they don't provide conditioner however, so if you want to use that you will need to bring your own. We have detailed cabin tour videos for the balcony and deluxe balcony cabins in this video if you'd like something more in depth 😊 Where are you sailing to?
It's one of our favourite places to go on Dartmoor as it's right by a riverside walk, so you can make a day of it. Sadly they've closed the tea rooms to the public this year due to the number of weddings booked there (although what a great wedding venue 😍) but we are hoping they will be back open soon. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤩 cheers indeed ☕️
Thanks for watching and for your comment 😊 That's a pretty good shout - you definitely get more benefit from the bigger cabin on a longer cruise 😃 we tend to make our decision based on the cruise length and itinerary (a deluxe balcony in the med or carribean would be a massive plus), as well as any deals available. We could certainly be tempted to go for a deluxe on a shorter cruise if the price was right.
