It's not just the dates, it's the same stadium, the exact same plot 😂 Even if we disregard the dates or just by the facts that dates were shown at all it's kind of obvious. But I guess that's also a part of what makes reactions entertaining so don't worry about it too much. It makes the eventual realization all the more satisfying.
Man, I teared up watching the episode. It really shows how much Kotarou cares about the girls, especially Sakura. Can't imagine how he felt when he finally heard a truthful gratitude from Sakura. All these years of grief and hard work has finally seemed to pay off for the first time. Next episode is gonna be a blast.
Ryoyoku no Brilliance , Oyu chan( Nishi o Yu ka ) plays a bass in slap. So coooooooool!!!!!! I saw this play at Kawaguchiko. stella theater. 4days ago.
Calm "after" the storm 😂 And before the next. This episode have a very special places. No opening nor ending singing. The legendary emotional episode. Let's go for the last one.
There is a - I don't want to say custom or tradition, because that sounds too formalized - but a bit of background assumption in Japanese culture that if a woman has cut her hair, it's to move on from having her heart broken. (It comes up in shoujo works a lot, and is part of a gag in _Azumanga Daioh_ .) I don't think we're ever _told_ that that's why Hanekawa cut her hair, but it's sort of in the atmosphere.
29:18 Shinobu talking about the end of Bake where she's basically runaway from home, she doesn't magically teleported into Koyomi's shadow, she could insert herself there because Koyomi stopped by Mr.Donut to look for her based on info he got from Mayoi. If Koyomi didn't went there then Shinobu wont be in his shadow, so in a sense, Koyomi indeed found her.
Scat singing is what Lily did, and I know it sounds funny, but it's an actual term. It's used a lot in jazz type music as a way to sing without having lyrics in place using vowel sounds and made up words to fit the rhythm of the song.
If a master dies, another one can appear; however, if a servant dies, another cannot be summoned. Therefore, there can be more than 7 masters, but there cannot be more than 7 servants.
Episode 11 my beloved. If there’s one story line I’m a sucker for it’s people coming together in times of crisis to find comfort and the desire to continue after such a disaster. I adore the character moments in this a lot. We’re once again shown Lily’s maturity and ability to brighten a room. The moment she sees the children getting distressed she immediately starts singing to get their attention and then performs the song that all of them can join in on, immediately making the room’s mood lighter and more comforting. Meanwhile we see Saki working hard with the repairs and reliefs crew, helping secure the sanctuary from the outside. And even while focused she immediately gets on edge hearing the kids start to freak out. Despite her rugged exterior, Saki still has a soft spot for the kids she encounters. Franchouchou has become the symbol of hope in these trying times, which makes the scene of them revealing their zombies more impactful. They risked their entire existence on this reveal and were met with love and praise. Even if it’s played off as a silly prank, you can see the relief in Ai’s tearing up eyes. These girls have had several close calls before where they felt they would never be able to connect with normal humans but thanks to these kids saying they can’t be zombies because they aren’t scary, the girls got to perform as themselves without any secrets for the first time. They risk it all for the sake of giving everyone in saga a good time where they can feel safe and happy. And finally we have to talk about Kotaro. I’ll be honest in saying I’m surprised to see you question if Mamoru can sing given he’s been a solo artist for ages, and more importantly one of his most crucial long running roles is that of an idol boy in Uta no Prince Sama, Tokiya. The man is a very talented man. Anyways back to Kotaro. Not only do we get to see his resolve as he ran all over saga to find Franchouchou after two days of holding on for dear life, but also his two speeches at the end. Kotaro is using Franchouchou’s revenge concert as a way to not only make up for his mistakes but also to bring saga back together after this natural disaster. He hasn’t given up on their revenge and will do all he can to make Franchouchou a success. Then there’s the ending scene. We had already known Kotaro knew Sakura but here we get a glimpse as to how crucial her death was to him. After losing her he was lost. Even if they weren’t super close it was clear Kotaro loved Sakura and wanted to support her idol dream. So ten years later he made a decision. Even if he had to take on god himself, no matter who would come to hate him, Kotaro was gonna bring Sakura back and let her live her dream. I’m not quite sure if the packet we see him holding is Sakura’s audition form, or if it holds the information of the girls he resurrected but it’s clear he had come to the resolve of seeing this to the end. We don’t know what Kotaro had to give for him to be able to bring back all these girls from the dead, but no matter what as long as Franchouchou exists he’ll be the one to have the resolve to see this till the end. To support these girls no matter how good or bad things get. Next episode sadly will be the last one. While we did get an announcement for a movie after season 2 ended it’s a Mappa movie. We haven’t had any info given about the movie since it’s teaser. From what I remember the director for ZLS left Mappa a year or two ago so honestly I’m not sure if we’ll be given that movie. Mappa is a bit of a gamble these days given what they did to Yuri on Ice fans. We can only hope at this rate
In order to stay in the war, a lone master usually has to do a contract with a lone servant, resummoning isn't really a thing. Basically one master and one servant have to die so that the remaining pair can get together
If you think about the scene at 25:00, it kind of looks like they're on school stairs. Kotaro and Sakura’s outfits even resemble school uniforms, and with the way Kotaro acts, it feels like he's confessing his feelings or something. I guess this is how Kotaro sees it.
It's just Gilgamesh enjoying wine and being like "A bit of direction, and this is peak cinema" assassin is gone, Kirei can only get another servant whose master is dead.
Monogatari is as you know about dealing with your own mental problems, your own demons or monsters if you want and considering that most important characters in this series are teenagers you could also say that this series is in part about growing up. The entire conversation this episode between Hachikuji and Araragi was all about maturity and many other scenes in both Nise and Bake have also been about growing up. The reason why im bringing this up now is because i want to talk about the adult characters. And honestly the only important adult character so far have been Oshino and Kaiki (not counting Shinobu/Hachikuji since their cases are a bit weird). Oshino has been the kind and helpful uncle who was there to help them with their problems and often didnt even take the money for his help but Kaiki is the exact opposite of Oshino. An adult who is antagonistic and does everything for money, someone who seemingly only works for himself and while Oshino was the real deal as a specialist, Kaiki seems to be a fake. But that leaves me with one question. Seeing Kaiki and Oshino as good and bad, black and white does seem like a very immature worldview in itself. So why does it seem that way? Well, the series itself answers this indirectly in this episode, its because similiar to his sisters our narrator is also still a teenager who hasnt grown up fully. Him going from "i dont need any friends" in Kizu to how he is now does show some growth but he obviously isnt one yet. Though i should point out that the very question of asking if one is an adult might be considered childish as well (see Araragis and Hachikujis discussion about that in this episode). Also i havent talked about it much but i love Shinobus and Araragis talk at the end of this episode, its another step in their relationship. They cant be honest about their feelings but they do want to help each other. PS: Shinobu can go outside a bit because she has very little vampiric traits to her right now.
On Hanekawa's haircut stuff. She did not fully remember her time as Black Hanekawa in Bakemonogatari. Her haircut never gets explained apart from how Araragi cut it for her which was given in the official short story Tsubasa Song. There could be many reasons for why she decided to ask him to cut her hair but we do not have full confirmation.
Lots of interesting things going on. Espeically with Senjouhara wanting to finish things with Kaiki.... An Shinobu being so damn cute here and pretty much enjoying her status now. Ka Ka!
good thing Araragi also doesn't know what does it mean to be a "normal high school couple" - otherwise he would've figured out, that his thing with Senjou is not that "normal".
While this was all a part of the same novel, the gag here is still set up brilliantly. Suruga molests Koyomi, and in order to give Mayoi an appropriate reaction to his temporary betterment of character, Nisio had Hitagi "steal" Mayoi's joke so she could do the same. SASUGA
The next episode is going to be out of this world. Now that Franchouchou has made their name known, and their revenge is close to being completed, they will be able to do the EFS concert. By the way, this episode is based on real floods in Saga in 2019, and the date of the concert, March 8, 2020, is a date known to fans because a concert was going to be held that was later cancelled due to COVID-19. There is a movie in development, and so far, it is known that it is still in production (as of September 2024) so there could be news soon...although it has been announced since 2021
Kaiki is very much like how Guillotine Cutter is, Guillotine Cutter is a human that kills Oddities and that makes him seem like straight up a monster. Kaiki's mentality and actions are so strange and far from being human that it's easier to compare him to an Oddity imo
It’s also worth mentioning that even the Nijigasaki anime isn’t directly based on the game. It’s similar, but it has lots of rewriting and the OVA and movies are completely new.
