I wish I found this when I first started. I very recently discovered all these “dragon staff truths” on my own with a LOT of practice and deep thought. but this is a GREAT synopsis of the root and core of all dragon staff tricks. If you master these principles, you’ll be able to flow continuously in a creative artistic and sometimes Radom-just go with it-oh, that was cool, didn’t mean to even do that trick, but it was amazing and I haven’t stopped, omg this is awesome, sort of way….

@@draghkyre do you mean basic chi rolls? I can do those quite fluidly now. I can't find anything when searching for horizontal chi rolls apart from regular chi rolls

You can purchase red ends from razedinflames. The other colours are no longer available. There are other similar end options.

My dragon staff doesn't roll smoothly when I try this ? Like, the non-grip material part still gets caught on my skin
@dragonstaffshare
@dragonstaffshare 4 года назад
If your staff is too grippy, you can try using your Fingers to roll it. If that makes sense?

These videos would make alot more sense if you took a minute to explain starting positions for the staff, spin direction, end position, etc. There are some great concepts here but I had to keep pausing the video to figure out where to place my hands and where the center point of the staff should be in relation to my body. Just a bit of constructive criticism for you.

Your staff looks to handle as though it is very light. My practice staff weighs around 5# and is rather difficult to roll over finger tips as yours appear to. Do you happen to know the overall weight of the prop you're using here?
@janaiibarlow1726
@janaiibarlow1726 3 года назад
This comment was from so long ago but if you're still looking for answers, the weight really depends on the pole. I use to use aluminium and it was too heavy for throws and other moves so I changed to a carbon fibre. Which I assume is what he is using in this video, they're heaps lighter 😊👌

The staff is a concentrate collapsible staff, with epdm grip and custom ends made by Matt Bray. There has recently been a successful crowdfunding build to make more of these ends.
