Lord thank you for posting this! Never dealt with an electric and after 6 years of living in the house it stopped giving hot water. Sure enough it needed the reset done.
Very informative. Found capacitors locally, installed, and works great. But now, the adjustment for volume and brightness is not working. No matter how I try to set it there's no change. Any ideas?
Sounds like others that have done. The fix are reporting that they cannot either control the volume the brightness or both after the fix. I know that might not be the best news and I can’t really provide anymore but hopefully you still have a working oven and it’s somewhat usable with the volume and or brightness setting you have currently after the fix.
@@philipellerbroek9357 it does work, yes. It's my sister's oven, so it doesn't bother me in the least. I can't see or hear it from my house either. Lol
Joe O above (see comment) had same issue. The cable is definitely “in there”. You have to reach all around, up down left or right. There are certainly two cables ….
Excellent video with a simple fix. My daughter had the same problem with her Sienna. She brought the car in for routine service with a local shop and asked them to look at it. She got a call saying it would cost over $320 including labor and the part from Toyota. I used your Amazon link and replaced it myself in 15 minutes for $28. Thanks.
Bosch is setteling a class action lawsuit for the units listed below. google search it yourself for a link. You can receive up to 400$ for these units having defective displays HBL5751UC HBL8751UC HBLP751UC HMC87151UC HMC80251UC HMC80151UC
Only 4 screws (10mm hex / phillips screw) to loosen the lower splash shields and get easily at both sides without reaching down from above around the battery or coolant reservoir...
Thanks for your video helped me fix my microwave! I have the same microwave and oven as you. My oven display started actung up. The first number not visable unless i tsp the screen. Would this fix also work on the oven?
You are amazing! Thank you for this video. I finally got around to doing this after having a blank display for 8 years! Worked like a charm!!! $2 fix with probably $8 shipping (CDN$) from DigiKey was a tiny fraction of the cost of a service call who probably would've just replaced the whole board.
I just try this after watching your video and just wanted to say "it worked". Thank you for making this video and sharing with others that have problems like this. You save me a lot of money by not taking it to the dealership. Thank you Thank you!!!!
I just encountered this issue with my 2006 Sequoia that hasn’t been driven regularly in 9 months just sitting in the driveway and just found this video. I’m gonna try this tomorrow and see if this works. Thank you.
@@MrPeller80yup it worked! And I heard the clicking when I pushed the button up or down so I’ll have to try tapping the window motor. Haven’t tried that yet but at least the wiper and defrost works now. I don’t use the back window up or down a lot of any so I’m good for now 👍🏼
Thank you so much for posting this. My microwave has the exact same problem for years. Could barely see the screen at night, and not at all during the day. Was reluctant to spend the $350-$500 people were quoting me. Bought the soldering iron for $30 at Home Depot, and the exact capacitors you linked to. First time soldering. Fixed it in about an hour. Felt like a total hero. One of the surprising effects was that the volume now remains low. Even after changing the settings in the microwave, there is no difference between LOW and HIGH volume. I suppose the microwave Giveth and Taketh! Really appreciate the detailed step by step instruction. You're awesome!
Wanted to come back and add an update. Oddly, the repair had an unexpected effect on my microwave. The sounds (when you press buttons, or when the microwave has finished) is now really really low. I wonder if i damaged part of the board when doing the repair. Anyone else experience this?
@@JCrowley13 maybe not sure. Or the speaker/chirper is going bad. At least you can see the display to use. To be honest I wish my microwave was quieter when dinging bc it wakes my kids up in the AM
I have a 80151, notice the clock display is ok, but when I tried to select the sensor reheat or other functions the display is dim can’t see with kitchen lights on, can only see little with no lights. Is this the same cause from those 2 capacitors?
Yes, I fixed this issue, thank you. But my unit now has another problem, the oven is not heating up but microwave function works fine. Do you have any idea?
I have the same model microwave and have had a dim display for years. Now the microwave is dead. No power to display. All my fuses are good. Pulled the circuit board, and have the same burnt discolouration. Think this could cause my fault? - no function? Either way it’s worth the attempt to fix. Thanks for the video.
@@masonhoffman9365 I pulled the display panel and circuit board to investigate. Board was burnt in a few spots. Bought a replacement display on eBay. Works great now.
I went on a trip. And the next time i used my 01 sequoia the defroster wiper and couldn’t roll it down. Also my door sensors are glitching. Gonna try this to see if that’s the case. Thank you for the video
Man this just saved me tons of time trouble shooting. I was only like 30 seconds into the video and already got my answer. Didn’t know there was a ecu reset function. That did the trick for me. Thank you so much sir!
Thank you for posting this! It really helped! I was able to replace the rear motor on my 2013 Odyssey today. I had to use a puller, Lisle 54150 which was on sale at my local Carquest for $29 CAD, to get the rear arm off. I also recommend getting the Honda factory motor as it comes with new mounting bolts (and I got a new "special nut" that goes underneath the arm and holds the motor to the window) and it was significantly cheaper than an aftermarket motor at $110 CAD from the dealer!!! Thanks again 😊
Thank you so much! I have an older Toyota Sequoia 2005. I love this car! I was dreading thinking that I had to take it to the Toyota dealer, which they would have easily charged alot of money for this easy fix! Thankful from a Southsider of Chicago.
Do you have an update? Have you tried removing it after some time? In theory it seems like it would work, but I can also imagine the paper towel or anything you stick inbetween could also fuse itself into the drywall and bracket.
Spent $1500 on my new ariens and the valve also sheared off ar the rivets the first time I ran it… I shouldnt have let lowes pre assemble it is my guess… or ariens should not use cast bolts there…
after saw your video, do Exactly what you said, pulled the rear window switch for 10 second, fixed my not working rear window wiper and defroster ,thank you !
Did this hold up or did you have to replace the motor? Also, mine stopped working along with everything mentioned but my wiper had random on when turning key off and randomly it worked on command but would never reseat itself.
I have the same issue, what I don’t understand is if the window issue would be the window motor, why won’t the rear defroster or wiper not work? Thanks, hope you see this!
They’re called elements. Your unit shouldn’t need reset, one of your thermostats or elements has an issue.
