I am a 22 year old from Canada that races 1/10, 1/8, and 1/5. I help represent the awesome family owned company MRG racing. I'm very passionate about the wonderful world of radio controlled cars. If you subscribe, expect a sporadic upload schedule as there is no schedule haha. At the moment I’m just making videos as I please, as I find it fun. I’m just enjoying myself :)
I just bought a Rovan Baja and looked at that bottle.........nahhhh....that cant be right....that amount of oil looks like its good for about 5 liters of fuel, and not just 1 liter :-) I have gas engines in my planes, so Im used to mixing......but I can see a newbie just using it without a thought.
That was me back when I got my first 1/5. I bought that bottle so I wouldn’t have to measure anything… well I learned my lesson. Took me awhile to figure out why I was fouling plus so often haha.
Who searches that? No one will ever find that video if it’s titled like that. My title grabs attention and gets someone to watch the video and learn that the bottle is sh*t.
I had to replace the radio/servo tray with the Rovan because it was out of stock. and let me tell you, the quality is horrible flimsy you can literally twist it. Junkie pos.
Not to pick or pile on ya😅, I don't know mugen really but the throttle linkage doesn't look like that's free and how it should be. I don't think and you might want to get you a damn lipo bag or a bat safe to put them batteries in so that if they didn't go up they don't burn your house down. I've had one go up at my house before too. So it's a real possibility that people forget about it was a 4S that went up at mine and it was an event. But good luck to you man. Looks good. Keep it up
I heard a lot of good stuff about that radio! A little over a year ago, I needed to get me a slightly higher end radio, and I can't remember why, but I chose the Futaba over this and the Sanwa. No regrets, but I keep thinking this might have been a good option for me... Happy to see that after three years of use, it's doing well!
They’re awesome. I’ve heard great things about Sanwa and Futaba. But I tried all of them and I just like how the noble feels in my hand compared to the other options out there. Plus receivers are considerably cheaper
Hello, I have a technical question. You have installed the battery compartment for normal 4s batteries. What is the exact distance in the battery compartment? So how much space do you have in the battery compartment? I would appreciate an answer with millimeter precision. Very best regards
replace your rear drive shaft with the losi one.. the stock rovan rear drive shaft seems to always bend and death wobble the bearing in the diff case to death.. during racing season MULTIPLE people went through bearings and rear diff cases because of the rear drive shaft bending. i ASSUME its softer metal than the stock losi one.. and because its softer metal and being the long length that it is it will bend under torque when landing. also buy a shock kit for the shocks.. they are decent shocks but the fluid is TOO light and the damper pistons inside are WAY too loose..
@@cameronlogan01 the electrics are a LOT faster and more technical and tighter racing around the track.. but are usually only 15 lap heats, and the way we have our track set up we run the electrics half track due to limited run time of electrics.. the gassers are ALL limited to 32cc stock porting and carb, tuned pipes are aloud and all the suspension and chassis upgrades you want as long as you keep stock geometry. gassers run full track and 25 laps. we generally have a TON of fun but are losing a lot of guys due to cost.
Yeah that’s fair. Our track is more so for fun (we have 1 track that I know of in southern Canada). Not many people come out anymore. Last time I think there were 3 of us. Hoping this season is better. I actually bought the 2.0 last week so we can have another truck out there. Sucks because 1/5 is my favourite class to run. I imagine it’s also due to cost as to why we’re losing people too.
Yup 1000Euro for Rovan lt450 and around 350 for ready to install że oah g320. Łosi 5ive 1600euro. But you get many alu parts with Rovan and you can spread that price in time. Drive with stock crap engine for 6-12months then get zenoah. That's what I did. And its also not like losi doesn't need upgrades. It's comes with plastic braces on chassis,.crappy servos and useless box exhaust. So add like 400Euro for just those. Anyway it's pointless to argue about which one is better.. obviously losi is better. But 99% can't afford it and even Rovan Lt is still very expensive for toy. That needs to be constantly reminded to spoiled millionaire brats talking about łosi superiority, so they don't forget most people aren't freaking millionaires 😂
Good video mate, I agree with conclusion, it's definitely not łosi quality, but it's still better deal. It's good option imo for someone like me who always dreamed about 5ive but like almost everyone just can't spend such crazy cash on toy. So to me some issues almost doesn't matter. What matters is that I could afford not perfect 5ive, work on it, fix improve etc. But I would never buy łosi. Ever. So in a way rovan does more good to hobby than łosi imo. And market verified what's better deal. Both hpi and łosi overpriced fifth scales are out of market while 30dnt, rovan etc are thriving. And that's good! The market have this beautiful feat of self regulation, and customers decided with their money what's better for most people ;]
I agree. Rovan is a hell of a lot cheaper. But you do get what you pay for. As long as you get to enjoy it, no matter what brand it is, is all that matters.
Some differences in my Lt bought around 2020-21. Mine was 450, so the best equipped version but with worst engine. Fully conscious decision on my part. Drive with that engine till it falls apart and get zenoah. Some notes: mine quality control was better, everything was tight and thread locked really well. Diffs felt perfectly, all sealed, though my center also leaked oil. Throttle servo horn was stripped. Few plastic threads were stripped from the factory. My shocks were perfect from factory and felt buttery smooth and still are. Chassis setup was also very good in terms of geometry etc. So u could say there were both positive and negative surprises. I can defo forgive all small imperfections/quality control issues on chassis but engine is total crap unfortunately. Servos and radios are good. fast enough though I wish receiver would be high voltage cuz I'd want to sport 3s in it, servos would almost surely take it and be crazy fast. The only mist haves for rovan Lt are push pull steering, alu throttle horn and of course zenoah engine with ori carb. All the rest is mix of ok/fine/good. Drivetrain is also good quality metal after over year of abuse diffs are strong and shafts have just minimal wear. I think I stripped spider gears in central diff but they took quite some driving so I can forgive that. I just locked it with screws and nuts and drive with locked center diff, for bashing it's better, especially now in snow lol 😅
Heres my advice from someone who have rovan baja and rovan lt. Dont get losi. Dont get Lt. Get baja. Its cheap, fun, simple, light, reliable, easy to work on. 5ive is exact opposite. Im serious 4x4 is fun and all but with gassers you won't be doing any serious offroad/crawling anyway. And thats all advantages of 5iven platform (4x4). Everything else is worse. Baja have also lot of optional parts/upgrades if youre into wasting money :)
I disagree with you. I’ve had 3 hpi bajas. All a pain and constantly breaking… my 5ive t hasn’t broke once, and I’ve had it for a couple years now. The rovan broke a couple times. I race these things, I put a lot of abuse on them. The 5ive t is a superior platform. It’s 10x easier to clean. The bajas have so many small nooks and spots where crap gets stuck. The 5ive t is a lot more spread out and so much easier to access everything.
Look, if money is not object for ya then losi is obvious choice. But for every normal working person rovan is just so much better deal. Yes there are lot of issues in stock form and engines are mostly useless so they are for people who are not afraid to get hands dirty. american millionaires who change parts because they got dirty obviously won't be interested in that, will get losi and all, mostly useless "upgrades" like alu fuel cap and suspension arms 😂 Financially imo you can't win with 5ive and his clones. I heard 30dnt is superb clone. And you can get roller chassis so thats probably the best deal with zenoah 320. Imo get 30dnt or just any baja clone. They are soooo much simpler,.more reliable and tbh often more fun. Just because 5ives are more expensive doesn't mean better. They are super heavy, complex, maintenance heavy and extremely expensive. Baja is just careless driving smashing shit. Parts are cheap and easy to replace. Maybe besides diff😂
Use it for first break in. It doesn’t hurt, in fact it helps to run rich on oil for first break in. Yep… it might foul out the spark plug. Clean it, replace it after that and then mix from a single gallon can after that… then throw the thing out. Or, use it to carry extra fuel that’s already been mixed.
7,4 V 4800mAh 2S Li-Ion Batterie mit XT30-Stecker für RadioMaster TX16S Sender this I have in my bays 5B, it is small and have a lot of power I get it by EBay 24 €
Well it's cheaper to put a $4.90 spark plug in it then it is to spend $88 and sit for a day and a half and overhaul it should I put extra oil in because they don't want you to have it seized up
Hey Cameron, nice buggy that. I see at 5:33 your throttle linkage is at an angle. That angle is causing stress on your servo and carb as it should be straight. Rotate the metal collar on the carb 180 degrees and you'll have a straight linkage and better performance.
Do the basement flood test, my losi 5t 2.0 was submerged in shit flood water when we had a one of a century flood in Michigan 2 years ago!😂 i only burned all stock servos, replaced it with waterproof ones. After hosing it down and disinfecting it, well few rust here and there where wd40 cant handle, all bearings, engine survived! Still rocks to this day ALL Stock!
Cool, I put new engine, few wheels, few upgrades, few broken parts, steel clutch and still it all cost me cheaper than łosi ; I'm not against łosi but 5ive is very overpriced
Great job on the vids! I pit for my son and going to try out the gopro. Do you have to point it down a lot while you are on the Driver's Stand? Also what view do you use? Wide? Keep the videos coming!

You can turn your g three twenty into a thirty four c c with a e s p Stroker kids it will fit in your pardon bottom end and you'll have lots of torque and power. I know I've done it.
Hello my friend. I have the same kit and same radio. Take out the fuel filter and put a direct fuel line and you should get new turnbuckles for easy tuning 🙂
I ended up getting rid of the car. But my thoughts on the motor… first thing to do is get a lower rpm clutch. That will make it feel 10x better. But for a 36cc it doesn’t have much in it. The Zenoah 32 feels way better.
@@cameronlogan01 I see,it's from taiwan I guess .But manufacture from China . The rtr look nice.could her make a double or triple jump stabily in the track ?
I raced both of my cars. But they were not the eye’s so I had race motors/engines in them. They were quite capable on the track, but not as capable as true race developed cars. Which is why I run Mugens now.
I’ve got a double header this weekend, I’m running my ebuggy and 5ive t. I’ll try to get some footage of both of those, I should be running the nitro next weekend. I’ll see what I can get for ya!
@@cameronlogan01 we have a double header this weekend to I’m dying to go racing but with a cruise coming up in a few weeks I should really be saving money 😅
