You normally get these fuel mixture jugs with your rovan rc vehicles. It is an inaccurate mixture device, so you should not use it. Myself, and others have had issues with it being too rich of a mixture causing plugs to keep fouling.
Surely u could just pour the correct amount into the Rovan can and make a mark on it so u know how much to put in in the future? Its still a useful little mixing can...
I have the same rovan mixing bottle the specs call for 25 to 1 and I'm mixing 20 to 1 for more protection and no problems I just bought a Rovan 32cc 320 AS sand and snow racer ( it's awesome!) I don't care what anyone else tells you DO NOT MIX 40 TO 1!!! always mix at least 25-1 even after the break in period you should never run less oil then what the specs call for the manufacturer tells you the mixing ratio for a reason! Some guys do this to gain a little more power it will shorten the engine life (for sure) when it comes to gas powered R/C if you are going to the pump to buy your gas make sure you use 93 octane and always go to shell, Sunoco, Mobile or a well known source that sells gas at high volume don't go to a little guy who is selling gas cheap like a Joe's gas station I don't even go to Cumberland farms because they are no longer under contract with Gulf they buy the cheapest gas they can find (understandable) but believe it or not it makes a difference be sure to add octane booster to your gas I use VP (can get it at Walmart or auto parts store) a 16oz bottle will raise octane for 10 gallons 5 points 20 gallons 2.5 points I use 1 fluid Oz (that's 29.5 ML) per gallon and it raises my octane 3.75 points I'm running 96.75 - 97 octane and I use full synthetic oil only burns cleaner than conventional oil this will make a huge difference the fuel burns faster and the oil will too you won't be burning through plugs I am going to go to 97-98 octane consistently your rc will be faster and have quicker response try it out The Rovan bottle is off slightly if you use a measuring cup you will see that the rovan bottle will give you a little more oil than the measuring cup but its only about 1/4 0f an ounce that is not going to kill spark plugs fast like you are going through, so it must be something else or a combination of tuning and fuel! I'm telling you that more oil is definitely better than less these engines rev really high they are designed to burn fuel very fast Sounds like a fuel problem try and see also do not run it lean some smoke coming out the pipe is a must should see a little smoke at idle and obviously more when accelerating (not a huge cloud but a decent amount) tunning could also be the issue but the bottle can't possibly be that far off we all would be saying the same thing if you changed bottles and you are still having issues then it must be the fuel or tunning issue but whatever you do dont use less oil then what your RC calls for it sucks going through plugs but I would much rather change spark plugs than change the engine give us an update good luck!
I always run 25:1. That mix can i had 0 issues with Rovan motors (I've had two 36cc and one 32) but Zenoah motors will not run properly with that mix. Its way too rich and will foul plugs constantly. I know my tuning and my way around engines, so I am very confident in sayin that the Rovan fuel mix bottle is inaccurate. Appreciate the time and words though:)
@cameronlogan01 yes the 36cc and 32cc are the best stock engines out there I'm running really rich because I'm breaking in with full synthetic oil it takes twice as long to break in and my plug is fine I'm at 20-1 now and going to 25-1 when I'm satisfied with break in zero issues the bottles can't be off that much honestly I have a buddy who is an R/C master he builds his own gas and nitro powered boats he told me that rovan aka king motor deliberately over calculates on the bottles but I mean really how off can it be we would all be bitchin! I can tell you the octane booster makes a huge difference stock these buggies go about 44-45mph I am going to finally get to open it up this weekend and I already know it's going to be close to 50mph just with adding VP octane booster!
Use it for first break in. It doesn’t hurt, in fact it helps to run rich on oil for first break in. Yep… it might foul out the spark plug. Clean it, replace it after that and then mix from a single gallon can after that… then throw the thing out. Or, use it to carry extra fuel that’s already been mixed.
1 liter of fuel bruh just use 2 large tea spoons.. 1 tea spoon = 15ml.. need 38ml per liter.. also I add a tiny splash.. to makeup for the 8ml Also from Canada (: I use 40:1 thank me later (: I have the exact same truck ROVAN LT450 but with a TALOR GT40 FULLY MOD. I used 21:1 for my first tank. And than 40:1 been 15+ tanks haven’t fouled a plug yet (: better yet in my whole life of using 2 strokes I’ve yet to destroy a plug or a 2 stroke Lool! I’ve only ever owned 3 motors outta the 3 I used 2 of them (: had one on a Bicycle back in 2017/2019 I sold it and bought a electric scooter cause of the torque / speed / range! And now my ROVAN LT450 that I’ve swapped a Taylor 40GT into, the stock motor that came with the LT450 is sitting inside the box for the car as a backup for whatever reason. I get low smoke, ALOT MORE LOW END POWER, Also I tried amsoil at 100:1 it works perfectly fine and idk but the truck woke up and chose violence when I did that as it just kept doing wheelies.. Also heard from TALOR himself the goat that using octane boost in your fuel to boost octane works!. We have 93 octane at pumps, if you get fuel boost you can do 112 octane and ALOT of people recommend it for people who enjoy low end power without sarcastic high end power band. Sorry for long message.. hopefully one day we can meet up 🙏🏽 I’m in downtown area.
I do 25:1. I picked up a mixing bottle from Canadian tire (I’m Canadian). But yeah that mixing bottle caused me a lot of headaches and it took a carb rebuild, and 3 other carbs to realize what was happening haha.
Did you ever measure the amount of oil and gasoline to find out what the actual ratio was ? If you didn't, could you and let us know what you came up with.
Well it's cheaper to put a $4.90 spark plug in it then it is to spend $88 and sit for a day and a half and overhaul it should I put extra oil in because they don't want you to have it seized up
Dude I think the reason you're fouling plugs is the 25 to 1 that's good for break in I'm running 40 to 1, good quality oil you don't need high oil ratio. Also you can mix 4 different ratios with that can
