When editing the cylinder heads, right click the rev limit slider and enter whatever value you want. You can also do the same to the other sliders for some interesting effects. Do be careful though since the engine doesn't like going over 9000 rpm, and that's only at maximum constraint accuracy and update rate, when those are lower the engine starts to spaz at lower rpms, and about 4000 rpm is the limit at the minimum simulation values which is why DangerSam set the slider to max out at 4000.

What is the firing order? The same as a regular v16? Or is it different

I don't really know which engine I took the firing order from. This is a V12 engine, and so long as my memory isn't being faulty again, this should be the firing order of a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine. I slow down the simulation in the video, so stepping frame-by-frame with the period and comma keys on your keyboard you can see which cylinder is firing next, and for reference the cylinders are numbered 1 through 6 on the right side, starting with 1 at the bottom of the firing order graphic in the top-right, while the left are likewise numbered 7 through 12. Its a relatively even firing order, opposite ends of the engine and opposite banks, so in theory this would minimize vibrations as much as possible, which may well be a lost cause for an engine that makes a couple tens of thousands of HP at the crank. Also, just decided to look up the firing order of a Merlin after typing this, and a Merlin acts more like two V6 engines back to front evenly firing one after the other. The Rolls Royce Griffon is also different to the Merlin and to this engine.

Amen to that. Though the books prior to the middle of Acts were not written to us but rather to the Jews, it doesn't make it untrue. So long as we place our trust in Him and His faith, we will never lose the salvation He freely gifted to us. Pretty incredible, isn't it? Its very humbling.

Yeah lol the water is basically coming in chunk by chunk and each bit gets flash boiled instantly, the pressure raises briefly higher than the pressure of the water inlet, and then drops just as suddenly to let more water in.

The active wing does not actually do anything, but GearBlocks is almost certainly getting an aerodynamics update at some point, which would include wings among other things, so that wing I'd update with actual aerodynamic surfaces. Likewise, I'd probably update the front wing with aero too, so it would stick to the track even harder, and perhaps add a servo to rotate the inner wing when turning to prevent flipping over. There's so much potential!

Amen to that. Although the book of John was written to the Jews, the truth is still the truth for all, even though only post mid-Acts and pre-Revelation was written to non-Jews instead, with some exceptions like John's letters. We are to "rightly divide the Word of Truth" after all. I'd strongly recommend watching some of Randy White's messages, he might meander a bit at times but he's very, very good at explaining things and can help with learning how to understand all the nuances in the Word, everything is linked together and when you dive in, you realize that parts were written to the Jews only, and parts were written to the non-Jews only, and parts were written for all mankind. We brothers and sisters in Him still should read and know history, read and understand the parts written to the Jews, but we don't get the blessings or curses given to the Jews, which is a blessing unto itself for us since our salvation is freely given, there is one step to secure your final destination and that is to place your trust in Him, and nothing we can do beyond simply trusting Him will do anything to save us, unlike the Jews we don't have to follow 613 commandments, so we ought not steal blessings from His people since He has already given freely to us the gift of eternal life and once accepted it is never rescinded. Getting it to work like I did in this video was both an earlier version of the game, and it took some careful finagling to get it just right. Its probably still possible, likely even smother than I did here after I saw one of Ange's dev videos where he got it running at full steam with a constant flow of water and no oscillating up and down as mine did. Its up to you really if you want to keep trying it, but only as long as you enjoy it. Do keep in mind the approach of the Power Generation DLC.

If you right click a slider in any part, you can tell if its one you can edit to beyond its upper and lower limits when you see the vertical line text cursor start blinking. So if you right click the RPM limit slider in the cylinder heads, you can select and overwrite or delete the number like any normal text input field, just be careful to never put letters or special characters into there, only numbers, and some sliders can accept decimals too, but they have rigid increments, so if a slider shows no decimal points, you can only put whole numbers in, so for RPM for example you can only go down to 1 (the normal lower limit is 200 since no engine really can idle below that), and can go as high as you want, but too high like over 500000 will just break the game engine, and over 9000 you'll likely run into constraint stability issues when running the engine in those rpms at maximum update rate and constraint accuracy in the world settings, set under the 0 menu on the right of the hotbar. *_TL;DR, just right click the slider and type what number you want. You'll know what sliders can accept decimal numbers._*

@@giovannig7442 I just remembered something I learned on the game's Discord like yesterday, if you input a negative torque value into a control wheel, it just keeps accelerating far beyond 60 rpm, so if you want to build something that drives using the torque of control wheels, instead of putting in an absurdly torque value and gearing it up a massive amount, just gear it down instead and make the normal 30Nm torque value become -30Nm, and it will keep spinning faster and faster until it starts going berserk at like 18k rpm, at that point the tiny powerless control wheel is putting out 56.5kW of power XD

I believe not. Its simply being spun and serves as an excuse to turn up the volumetric efficiency above 1 by doing some right-click slider editing on the cylinder heads, because in real life a turbo or a supercharger does exactly that, when it generates even a tiny amount of boost, the volumetric efficiency of the engine starts to get closer and closer to, and eventually surpass, 100%, as 100% is effectively using 100% of atmospheric pressure every compression stroke, so with boost you're compressing more than atmospheric pressure, and thus above 100% volumetric efficiency. The thing the auto industry is gunning for however is the all-important thermal efficiency which cannot actually reach 100%, since that defines how much kinetic energy is extracted from the fuel, with the remaining energy not extracted being lost as heat, thus its name as thermal efficiency. Anyhow, I'm tired, its 1 AM, I really need to sleep XD

another way of avoiding the stalling issue is to use an idler wheel between the foot and the wheel. so you would have a forward wheel, then idler wheel then iron foot in the middle, then another idler wheel then the reverse wheel. that way the driven wheel isn't directly fighting the iron foot, all it has to do is spin up the idler wheel. so you would have all 5 of these arranged in an arc equidistant from the pivot point on the roof, and a single ram tilting the arc forward or back. the ram could be smaller because it is pushing sideways rather than straight down. an idler wheel would run away on hills though.

well done!, it's almost perfect, I wanted to have the forward and reverse axles on a pivot so that one hydraulic cylinder would do, saves cost. the pivot point would be on the roof, about 5 feet up, also the drive would come from there. the advantage of using a high pivot point is that moving the axle imparts a motion to the vehicle, so if the axles are arranged so that moving the pivot point forward and the foot backwards brings the forward axle to the ground then the stalling may be avoided. also a high pivot point greatly improves ground clearance, which is important in an off road vehicle. also skid steers use a loader, not a dump bed but no matter.

I think at that point, the cost in engineering and reinforcement to make such a setup work without the stresses of a jobsite breaking it would soon outpace the savings in using less hydraulics, as a skid-steer needs a hydraulic pump to move the bucket or forks on the front anyway (as linear actuators with enough power to do the same are very costly) and that is the most expensive part of a skid-steer as the track drive or wheel drive is far simpler to manufacture and to maintain than a pivoting assembly that likely uses chains since extending driveshafts can't reliably flex that far without the skid-steer being quite wide to reduce the CV joint angles enough for it to be reliable. So utilizing the hydraulic system with a radial piston hydraulic motor or hydraulic gear motor on each track or one for each of four wheels is putting to use a pre-existing power system, its why lots of industrial machinery uses hydraulic drive, since if it needs hydraulics for heavy-duty actions like an excavator bucket, trench cutter, pallet fork, even just a tipper bed (hydraulics can exert immense torque amplification via incompressibility of the working fluid), it greatly reduces manufacturing and maintenance costs to use a unified drive system, in the case of industrial machinery that system is hydraulic. It would work in this game to use different systems and I can get away with using minimal reinforcement to make the swing arm you described due to the creations having a manner of invincibility, but due to the large size it would require and the nature of the Square Cube Law, the structural reinforcement would outweigh the benefits of a direct mechanical drive system. And also, ground clearance isn't a concern for a skid-steer, since it needs its bucket or pallet fork close to the ground for operation, if you need clearance for a bucket or pallet fork then you'd need an entirely different vehicle with a far larger frame and a different manner of control, which is most likely an articulated steering system such as what my quadrupedal mech has, although the more I think about my mech, the more I realize it has no real purpose as an industrial vehicle, since what it could do its awkward for, and other machines exist that do everything it can do on a job site far better and faster. Gosh I really went on a long tangent. I think my poor sleep has made me ramble on and on and on XD

@@Avetho I used to follow the lifetrac skid steer by opensourceecology. they priced out one of their later models for the parts alone at 9500 USD. the wheel motors were 800 USD each and they would shear frequently, couldn't handle the torque. I think they really needed a cycloidal drive at the wheels to handle the issue. their last model before they stopped uploading used a large sprocket on each wheel to gear down to the wheel motors. I'd have liked to see it running but i understand there were disputes over wages. They had at least one issue where iron filings went through the hydraulic systems and every pump and motor had to be replaced. all in all it was a money pit. there was a brazilian company who also built one and they suggested direct drive but OCE didn't know how to implement it. While you are afraid of the structural reinforcement, it's not all that different to the kingpin on a tractor front axle. it won't be continually rotating so a bushing in the wearing surface is acceptable. I use heavy chains and sprockets on a dungspreader on the farm, they are quite reliable, but they would be moving at a slower speed driving wheels. ' chains can be fed different directions around sprockets so as to reverse the direction for forward and back wheels. they also can handle bushing wear without destroying themselves as would happen gears were used. while i agree an articulated loader is a better design, it is difficult to implement a differential gear with chains and off the shelf parts. For a year or so i fantasized about building the direct drive skid steer. I doubt i would though due to the financial issues. still, it pleases me to see a simulation work. you can search up the lifetrac 6 on youtube if you like.

@@martin-vv9lf I see the Lifetrac is _very_ different to machinery I've seen, perhaps because its meant to be assembled by the end-user? It would save a lot on assembly costs by making the customer do it, since in such situations they're very likely to be skilled enough to do it and have the tools required, to maintain it and other machines if nothing else. Although, such assembly by the end-user in an unclean environment can introduce particulates and other contaminants into the hydraulic system during assembly if they don't maintain a clean enough workspace, which would result in a severe reliability loss due to user error. Do note too that chain drives are about 98% efficient, but that figure is per-segment, so with one from the engine to a master jackshaft, another to the drive legs, another to the first segment of each leg, and a fourth and final length to the wheels, that results in an overall 92% efficiency, but you have to take into account friction losses from the bearings every step of the way on so many rotating shafts, and the risk of debris and whatnot gumming up the chains. That could add anywhere from another 5 to 10% losses to the system, taking it down to 87 to 83% efficiency depending on if you use roller bearings and tapered roller bearings or just sealed sleeve bearings. On the other hand, hydraulic piston pumps are about 90% efficient, and radial piston hydraulic motors can get up to 94% efficiency if you're willing to spend for quality stuff, but are more commonly 85 to 90% efficient. So a total efficiency of 76 to 81% isn't bad, especially when you have higher reliability, a lower maintenance cost (you only really replace the fluid once every 1000 hours or if routine inspection reveals an issue, and the service interval of a hydraulic piston motor is 10k hours). Also, the kind of hydraulic pump and motor I just mentioned is high-torque, so there are higher efficiency types out there, but at the cost of lower torque capacity, useful for parts of a vehicle that don't need as much raw power and could benefit from lower heat output in operation, as heat is one of the major things to keep on top of in a hydraulic system to prevent the fluid from boiling. On price, I found a JCB skid-steer with wheels rather than tracks for 17000 US dollars, and its a model from 2015 with just 2130 hours on it, and considering how the engine needs replacing or rebuilding every 6000 hours even with regular maintenance, that applies for hydraulic or mechanically driven machinery both. So its a matter of availability in your area and a matter of what you're willing to pay in terms of money and time and equipment downtime. Most people prefer to buy a machine ready to put into service right away, so that's how machines are built in developed countries, in less developed nations they have lesser need of a ready-to-go machine and more of a need for a machine that can be easily repaired with almost anything that fits or can be made to fit, like the Lifetrac with its square-tube chassis and everything, it can be assembled by the end user and it can be fixed easily by the end user as long as one of its core components hasn't broken, at the cost of it being less reliable overall and less capable overall than a factory-built machine.

I came up with the idea of a skid steer loader that has one wheel dedicated to forward motion and one wheel dedicated to reverse motion, on each side of the vehicle. both wheels are pivoted together so that when one wheel contacts the ground, the other is raised, and when both are raised there is a stump in the middle that acts as a brake. The advantage of this design is that there is no need for expensive hydraulic motors, since the wheels can be powered continually via direct drive from the engine. the wheel pivot is moved by a hydraulic ram. I would appreciate it if you could design this skid steer in your game as i have no access to it.

Also, GearBlocks itself is available on Steam for about $20 CDN, so if you feel ready to give it a shot and can spare that much (its not exactly cheap but its nowhere near as bad as AAA games are) then I'd sincerely recommend the game. The dev is a very nice guy and is working very hard on it, and there might be a chance that the more active members of the game's Discord manage to get him in touch with AngeTheGreat for things relating to sound physics and engine sounds. That's a hard "maybe" though, so I wouldn't bet on it until the dev says something about it, and if or until then I'll just keep hoping and playing XD

Just remember to save and cut back on things you don't actually need (unless its something you enjoy and can't get elsewhere for cheap or free like you can with movies and music), and eat healthy at home rather than takeout or any restaurants, because home cooked food is far cheaper overall and many people find they actually enjoy the activity too (and you can get deals on food at the supermarket and buy otherwise expensive things that are on clearance due to nearing their best before date which is not an expiry date btw). We also don't have good finances at my place, but frugal spending and home cooking has allowed us to live rather well on low income (for a house of four so its probably different if you live alone), not much in the way of savings but enough to have a good nest egg in case of things going wrong as well as a smaller one for getting things we enjoy so we don't get sick of monotony or whatever, keep up our mental health and all that. Regardless, I wish you all the best and hope you live the best and happiest you can! The world is falling apart bit by bit _(thanks to JOE),_ so its getting harder to live well _(and another bitingly sarcastic thanks to Turdeau),_ but one of the core traits of mankind is our tenacity and stubbornness to get things done even if the odds are stacked against us, which they are both from within and from without. Its based on real physics, but a machine like this would need somewhat exotic materials and a lot of hydraulic strength just to move the legs. Since I never disable invincibility on anything, I don't know for sure if this thing would just snap the legs off. There's a reason that walking mechs in real life use triangular trussed legs if they're really big, and one of this size would need an impractically large amount of reinforcement material which further increases its weight. A good example would be the Prosthesis mech, its got 4 legs and you move it with your arms and legs, for a practical design for a mech, its a much more reasonable design. You could potentially make my mech design here at a small-scale and have it work, since the Square-Cube Law doesn't kneecap the design like it does at full size.

Oh that sounds fun XD Do keep in mind that after the update proper, the engines make much more power due to Sam changing how intake flow among other things work. This does break all of my prior high-power vehicles, since I cranked up the volumetric efficiency to absurd levels, meaning they all put down so much power its insane. I think my V16 here makes over 1000kW easily, since this one has no volumetric efficiency editing, but the generators I made are broken now (in a "good" way lol) because something like my 42kW gen now produces obscenely more power.

Lol they certainly don't, unfortunately Wankel engines of this size have lots of very rough difficulties in their construction that mean they don't exist much larger than a Mazda Wankel engine (though that doesn't mean a 12 rotor doesn't exist at least one does), especially torque twist and bending the connecting rods (the very long thin rods that run through every rotor housing and compress the assembly together under immense pressure). It was a fun fantasy to entertain while building this monster though.

@@goldengear6125 That would work, but only as a temporary fix, those rods don't just bend, the rods on the spark plug side also stretch from the combustion pressure pushing the plates apart, which makes them thinner, which allows them to bend more, until failure happens and compression is lost entirely, if not also causing severe damage to the eccentric shaft and other internals. Sadly, the Wankel rotary is kind of dying out, but the HEHC rotary (which has its geometry inverted in comparison to the Wankel) is far more promising.

@@goldengear6125 Oh yeah, the HEHC is very cool, its made by LiquidPiston, but unfortunately for us they're currently bound to a US military-exclusive contract, so they legally cannot sell engines to anyone but the military right now. And given the military jumped to contract them so fast, it lends credence that their engine does live up to its promises enough to replace all UAV and generator engines with their's.

what you have created here is in fact a long bang V-6. It is impossible to get 80 degree firing impulses with the tri-star crank in this engine. The bank angles must constitute 80 degree firing angles or otherwise split crank pin designs must be used. You are most likely getting the central bank to fire 60 degrees from/before its neighbour for any possible sequence in this engine to work. It would run but the firing order is not even, certainly not fit for F-1 power needs and most likely only usefull as a low reving big block truck engine with a very overbuilt crankshaft to survive the torsional vibrations. This crankshaft lengthened into a 6 row engine for 18 cylinders would still need 40 degree bank angles for even firing orders as in the real life example of the Isotta Fraschini Asso 750 W-18 aero engine.

I search rotary engines type rotary vane pumps and found a person who has a small-scale production of a detonation rotary engines. It literally has an engine that runs in space using oxygen-containing fuel. There are also other rotary engineson RU-vid, but this creator himself uploads video about own detonation rotary engines and shows the results of the dyno

Yeah, I believe I put a big flywheel on this. Oh yeah, I just checked and these are the lines defining the mass and radius: label flywheel_mass(260.0 * units.lb) label flywheel_radius(36 * units.inch) Its a 260 pound flywheel that is a massive 72 inches across. The formula assumes even weight distribution, making this a 72 inch disk that weighs 260 pounds. Assuming the flywheel is made of mild steel, this would mean its a solid disk roughly 0.225 inches thick, or about 7/32" thick mild steel sheet cut into a 72" diameter circle with the center punched out to make room for the crankshaft.

It sure it! 180 degree and flat are interchangeable terms for it, its when the engine has split crank pins that you have to specify that its a boxer engine instead of just a flat or a 180 degree engine, and the Tucker engine was not a boxer, neither the heavily modified O-335 that actually went into the cars, or the sidelined prototype 589ci monster that could barely produce even a meagre 83 horsepower.
