It's fun to think about think about who these people were and how they made an impact on this world. But what's even more fun is to think about who isn't shown here...the shop owners, the merchants, the tool and die makers who made the automobiles possible, the woodworkers who crafted the furniture shown in these homes, the laborers who made the toys, clothing, and city infrastructure...they all deserve our attention and appreciation.
What was it like? Much less Commercial!! It didn't Start in July! I've stopped celebrating Christmas. Nothing but a RETAIL NIGHTMARE. Everyone has what they need now so what's the point. Treasured Memories but Not with all the hassles now. Families scattered ,fight when they do get together now . I have a nice quiet day like any other.
I went to Utica and asked a local man about this place and he said it’s an urban legend and doesn’t exist but people come asking about it sometimes. This tells me one of two things: it’s actually in GA like some people are saying OR it does exist and the local people just want to protect it from tourists destroying what remains of it.
Please pay this man for all those years this is the biggest crime that some one innocent has too give up his life & just so some one plays politics. We all owe this man. Jury's put innocent people away because they believe everything that is told too them in the court room💯🙏
I know these too were turbulent times, but what I'd give t be able to go back. These times seems so much more sane than the the one we are sadly living in right now. Love the music BTW.
OMG! There is a photo at 1:49 in that was taken by my Grandpa of me and my Mom. I am 4. I'm wearing a nurse costume, sitting on Mom's lap. It was taken at 35 Ryerson Ave., Bloomingdalem NJ. Not in Chicago!!!! If you have the original photo, I would love to have a copy! It is something lost in time....
I am A Washingtonian and had the great pleasure of our Washington Department Stores we had 8 major stoes in our Downtown Shopping Ditrict, Woodward & Lothrop Hecht & Company, Garfunkel, S Kans & Sons, Julis Landsberg, Jeffries, Raleigh, Saks which first stated in Washinton DC , but I was lucky enough to go Chicago. New York , Philadelphia, and other great shopping areas in the United States.
I have testified to many of the wonderful Christmas tradition we established as very young children. Starting the first day of December I and my two younger siblings would sing carols at night in bed. Our favorite was “O, come all ye faithful”. We had great joy in our hearts as we sang and toys were the furthest thing from our minds. It was the joy of The Lord! In retrospect I am certain the angels regularly attended these “pure in heart” services. This is my most important memory of The True Christmas. PWG
Back when we had a sense of community, family, pride.... we are devoid of all of that and more now.... selfishness, victimhood and blame is what we traded for. Sad.

I blame almost all the bad changes that have killed the innocent times we once had on drugs being allowed to come into our country through lax or non existent borders. Causing people to be crazy, lazy, out of it, violent or delusional. The 50s were much, much better...no drugs.
Give me those days of family, innocents, when Santa was real in our minds, of schools where kids had no worries, where respect was taught and was a way of life. Give me those better times. Indeed, they were so much better.
It was MAGICAL family and friends were important It is JESUS CHRIST'S BIRTHDAY It was not about presents Decorating the Christmas tree Bus ride down town to look at the decorated store windows and to see Santa . Visiting friends and tasting all the different foods Greek, Italian, Spanish, Irish and soul food it was heaven. I grew up in New York City. Christmas Mass and to visit the Nativity Scene. We had a Christmas play every Christmas in school. I put on my angel costume to sing in the choir magical. I enjoy the memories so much my family are gone and most of my friends Enjoy your family and friends ❤ love each other be kink and caring ❤ this is what life should be. It was not presents that I remember it was the love and joy I received ❤. God Bless everyone praying for you all. Happy New year. Remember united we stand divided we fall. Everyone unite together ❤
Just like in the 50s people are segregated by jab status, all because they don’t want to inject themselves with an experimental drug, oh my bad vaccine. Smh God help us all!!!!!
