This programme could have been so much better if it weren’t for the chronic overacting. Peter Firth is so not a crisis manager, and while Macfadyen has staring startled eyes naturally, the over dramatic delivery is not necessary - scripts are not so thin that they require the hyper drama. 🙄😤
It was suggested by (Harry) for Tom to tell the truth to someone with whom he might be serious. Tom was serious about Ellie when the series started, but he lied to she and her daughter about his identity and what he did for a living. After a few Tom Quinn blunders, his relationship with Ellie went south.
Christine receiving that note was not error. Whoever sent it, within the CIA, wanted her to see it and they knew that she was seeing Tom Quinn (if Harry Pearce and Quinn's subordinates knew, then others knew, too). They also knew that she would probably pass it on to Quinn and he would not tell Harry, who told him that his relationship with Christine Dale had to end (which it didn't at that point). The word eminence got his attention.
Who writes this show? I'd like to speak to them about some implicit absurdities. First of all, the Star of David should never be associated with an organization that protects a super-rich elite (The Bendorf Group) from environmentalist leftist terrorists and does nothing to address the evils that the these super-rich do, even though what the terrorists did wasn't correct, but was symptomatic of a society that allows these super-rich guys to do these evil things, such as investing in cobalt mining. (and get away with them) Cobalt mining should be eliminated. Let's find a better way of making electric cars without lithium and cobalt, and let's find a better way of boosting the economies of developing African countries without slave labor, child labor, and toxic byproducts. By the way, the vast majority of environmentalists and left of center Democrats (if not all) are generally NOT terrorists!

i cant help but comment on the dichotomy between this British and American dramas. Even though theres a possibility of a bomb in/around their workplace, they stayed (almost too) calm and tried to reason it out. If this were american, all sorts of lights and alarms would be flashing, intense music, etc etc. I much prefer british for this reason
