no its a good design.....i am a soldier who uses the SA80 A2 and its a good weapon. the bull pup design (meaning the magazine is to the rear of the pistol grip) allows the weapon to have a reduced length with a full size barrel and because the its a bull pup design it is a hell of alot more accurate than any other assault rifle used by nato possibly with the exeption of the FAMAS which is also a bull pup design.
@greedyfoot but assuming the cases have to be ejected in some way is it a bad design ? it is a firearm and therefore by definiton use involves a certain level of risk /injury especially if used in an incorrect manner that is presumably part of the reason army training is given
