Could anyone give us an insight into this new resynthesis engine? What's changed? Is it using Loris under the hood? Sounds a bit like it based on what I'm hearing (the noise content of the resynthesized sounds seems better preserved compared to what I've heard before coming out of this plugin).
I do not believe it is Loris, I actually highly doubt it is, as Peter tends to design his own engines and DSP there's not much documentation on the new engine besides how to use it, same as the old while many sound designers like myself love learning about all the stuff under the hood, these Iris engines are not quite intended to be clinical tools but instead are meant to be left a bit of a creative mystery sure this is frustrating to some of us, but I think it's ok for some elements of the creative process to be mysterious drop a sample in, see what it does, and let it spark inspiration there's other plugins we can use to tweak hundreds of partials and sample data the new engine does sound great, I recommend trying it out if you don't own myth, there's a demo, if your demo has expired, Peter has extended it
@@DataBroth Is the new 1.5 version already available for testing? I must admit that if I am to ever consider this piece of software at all, it must have a much improved resynth engine compared to what I heard from the old one. I don’t want to sound harsh, but it sounded like junk; sterile and missing so many nuances from the samples I loaded in it, that I couldn’t touch it again. IMHO, the resynth engine should be as precise, high-res and faithful to the source as possible; the user then decides, using the synth’s features, how to abstract and treat the original sound
@@gjb7966 Thank you for the feedback! I am sure you will be satisfied with the new engine. Myth 1.5 will be available from 1st Nov via tracktion. But its already available on the Dawesome Village Discord discord.gg/7t84hnqJxc
Sounds are fire! 🔥 Compared the workflow experience during thee trial w/ some other synths and gosh darn my nagging inner child! Myth is so comfortable, fluid and well-thought to work with. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love Novum, it’s my favorite of the Dawesome product line but I think Myth is up there with it. There’s so much fun to be had with the new Resynthesis V2. You can make some crazy complex patches with the timbres from real instruments and really mangle samples. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised with what you can do and discover.
Wow. This is a machine. I understand that if you don't want to spend 20 hours on sound designing one sound, you can just take this. Although the Cult is also capable of a lot, there is still a clear difference.
Great stuff. Looks like an unlimited playground. Hopefully a Black-Friday-Deal will make this accessible for my perpetually severely weakened plugin wallet 😃
Hello! I've bought Myth on day one and it became the huge addition to my sound and instrument design process, and that update you mentioned will make that so much better! However, is it possible for you to make ADSR and/or LFOs retrigger in mono legato mode?
@@dawesomeHmmm.. Are they? When I turn “mono” and “gliss” on ADSR seems to work only on the fitst note played. If I play something with notes overlapping ADSR isn’t retriggering (as well as LFO) Am I doing something wrong?
I have 2 questions: 1) Is there a way to choose - or at least randomly change - the way a sample is decomposed? (For example based on the frequencies) 2) I would like to use it for long ambience field records. Is there a maximum lenght of the sample playable? Could I put a 1 hour record and play with it like this? Thanks to anyone who could answer my doubts ❤
Yes! It supports polyphonic and monophonic aftertouch and polyphonic MPE-pressure if your DAW sends that midi data to the plugin. You can use Novum for 90 days as a free trial without any restrictions - just click UNLOCK / START TRIAL to get the 90 days started.
this is exactly what i meant when I said in my video that databroth is going to make the proper synth demos. just like this video's first preset. perfectly executed sound showcasing almost all features of the synth at once. (the other sounddesigners here also did an excellent job btw)
I have a friend that knows this guy who works with a dude that heard a vocalist that would REALLY sound great with your music. We should have my people talk to your people so you can collab.
Sounds very good, lots of nice effects and the FM is particularly delicious, but I didnt like the modulation setup, there's been a tried and tested drag and drop mod approach for eons now and I shouldnt need to dive into a manual to get it setup. You have a whole page for modulations on the main interface but it's the first i've seen that doesnt let you create any with it, even a right click and assign would be sufficient. It would also be helpful if you could return to the patch you were building when you select to start the in-plugin tutorial, or if this is in place already, make it a bit more obvious. If you had this functionality in your plugins I would buy them all, please consider implementing.
Please send me a mail to peter at dawesomemusic dot com or join the dawesome village discord. This is easier than to discuss complex topics in YT comments!
@@dawesome Whilst I appreciate the reply this isnt a discussion, it's a comment, and I wouldnt describe anything i've mentioned as complex so much as bread and butter functionality.
