Helloo, great video and modification, but what type of water cooler you have? With the factory cooler there is no enough place for the main cooler hose, so I can't do this mod.
Thanks for the compliments. Not sure what you mean by water cooler? I am running the standard cooling system on the E11 Corolla. The Radiator hose from the radiator to the engine will fit fine, it is a little tight, but I promise it is fine.
for my e12 I just simply used Avensis parts, because is just plug and play, no modification is required, and Corolla verso air hose! also plug and play!
It's 90% likely this is the issue. If you don't have tools or a garage I'd recommend a mechanic doing it for you. Show them this video and it has all the steps and parts you need
@@HobTecCarsyes imma have to show them this video lols I hope the mechanic can fix it Lols I’ll keep u updated have a great day or night where ever ur from lol
@@HobTecCars @HobTecCars I remember watching your build very closely because you have a lot of knowledge of Toyota and all the rare parts. Would you believe you and some guy in the UK inspired me back in the day. I had 2001 Corolla SR, you know basically the face-lift G6R. It a was nice red one with a genuine TTE stamped spoiler, red G6R seat belts and stupidly rare white TTE alloys, produced by MiM. Just changed my profile pic to it. Glad I found your channel, best of luck with it!
That's really cool to hear. I know the other guy you are mentioning. His username was steven252, he still runs a store building ZZ engine wiring looms. Your car looks lovely, on Irish plates too, very exciting. The MIM is a lovely wheel for the E11, essentially a WRC spec. I want to do a video on the full E11 lineup at some stage. It'll take a while to put together. I want to do one on the Toyota Levin ae111 next. I will definitely buy a G6R someday. Just need to shift a few others cars :)
Very cool. The interior reminds me a lot of the JDM EK9 Civic Type R, but the technical specs are more akin to our USDM EM1 Civic Si. The yellow is gorgeous.
This cost me about €70 total in materials. Full video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ISYorRx2wAw.htmlsi=7ZcF9d-tiOLMTHIq Most shops I know charge between €60 to €90 per wheel!
Geat instructions there lad. Im based in ireland myself and run a channel around repairs and with a few corolla videos in there for good measure. I daily a tsport but my mrs has a 4zz 05 hatch and i have often wondered about the specifics of how to go about the 1zz mod. One thing that would be important for me is a completely stock look so would be interested to know if the 1zz air pipe to the airbox is a straight fit of whether a reducer would be needed. Did you ever see any negative effects from running this mod over time?
Thanks for the compliment, appreciate it a lot. The 1zz airline for a Celica will fit, but best to trim a bit of the end of with a saw as it's really too long in the 4zz engine bay. This was the mod will be OEM looking. No negative effects I noticed on my car. Ran the mods for 4 or 5 years and drove 35,000 miles with them. If anything.... my car ran better with them.
Hello! First of all - great video I’ve got an E120 (e12 5 door) with the same engine (4ZZ-FE) and have a few questions. I’ve managed to source a celica 2002 throttle body and inlet manifold , part numbers all match up. Regarding the wiring of the TPS - you say you can source the male connector from the celica loom to then plug the wires into - if i cannot source one of these what do i do? Also - what size diameter is the silicon hose if you or anyone else knows? Did you give the inlet and throttle body a comprehensive clean before you put them on too?
Hi thanks for the compliment much appreciated. I can help you out a lot I think. So first thing is first. I've never done this mod on a E12 but the process should be 90% the same. A good friend of the channel has bought the 1zz male TPS connectors from Aliexpress. The part links are in the description. They worked perfectly for him. He hand wired his 4zz TPS loom into that connector. The Airbox pipe diameter I used for an E11 was 76mm in diameter. This was a perfect size for the 1zz throttle body. On the Airbox size it was a little loose. But a simple Hose clamp worked perfectly to seal it tight to my airbox. Finally, yes I comprehensively cleaned the Throttle Body, IACV, and Intake Manifold before install. I recommend doing it if you have the time. My car honestly ran like a new car after, I think it made a difference. Follow me on hobtec_cars Instagram and message me there for any further help I can give.
I’ve sent you a message over on instagram. I’ve managed to source a male plug for the tps from a celica. However is the idle air control valve plug changed at all or will that be the same as what is on my car already?
I'm thinking of doing a front conversion on my 6gen celica because the front is really 90s and really clean, but I have to wait at least until I finish paying the loan for it LOL
@@HobTecCars nope, I'm in the process of research right now, since is my daily, I will have to do it right and it won't be cheap since you also need bonnet, headlights, side panels and core support
Hi there, short answer is YES. However, stroking these engines is fairly involved. By the time you buy a 1ZZ crankshaft, Pistons, and Con Rods and factor in labor costs..... you could have bought a whole 1ZZ-FE for the same cost. As regards Turbo-ing the engine, either stroked or factory low PSI boost would be best. The 1zz is a light block, TTE made a 1ZZ Turbo kit in Germany running low boost to make 180hp on the 1ZZ.
Hi there, Sorry for the delay in replying. I am not sure about the USA market but I am sure any type of heavy duty rust treatment paint will suffice here. Some products are spray cans others are painted on with a brush. I'd recommend talking with local auto factors or hardware store specialist.
Whats the rust material that you talked about? My car has quite some rust under neath and I would like to know what I can do to fix it I’m in the US btw
I found it actually improved my mpg by 0.5mpg. I think its because everything was cleaned going in like the throttle body and intake manifold. I had a nice system where I'd a CAI intake into factory airbox which helped too. It depends on how you drive. But no drastic change to MPG eitherway
Hello, channel author! in our group we saw your video, we are from Russia. We own the cars that are in this video. If you need more information, I'm ready to send. I have this car and it’s parked under my window, and there are 130+ owners of this car in our group.
Thanks for the comment. I hope you didn't mind me using the footage. I credited everyone in the video description. I was amazed how much of a following there are of the CURREN in Russia. 😊
I got a few people asking to buy mine i got it real cheap. And could easily make a chunk of cash but shes staying with me i have had 1zz engines with no problems and the same with the 2zz. But the 2zz reving to 8 400 with a jdm ecu is the winner for me
I got hold of a jdm gen 7 Celica 2zz was going to use it for another mr2 engine swap. But i found it has a lower lift point ecu and a lsd as standard. I got it home found its too good to scrap . Its now my daily funny enough i bought it with the cat stolen i used a spare mr2 cat i had hanging about and funnily enough i put leather interior in and binned the cloth.
Neat little car this. I remember these when I hankered after a brand new Honda Integra Type R DC2. Luckily I managed to get the DC2 eight years later and still own it to this day!
Have it for 24 years, and powered with the 20v black top and the c160 trans. Such a great car with great suspension system. You can enjoy an aggressive ride with twisty turns.
Amazing, congrats on a lovely 20v build. The C160 is a lovely ratio gearbox. I put one into my E11 vvti years ago. Your 20v build is how this car should have come from the showroom. 158hp is perfect for a hatchback like this. Are you based in the UK?
Hi, it depends on which intake manifold you have bought for the modification. I used a 1zz Celica one which has an extra vacuum inlet. It's located on the bottom lower right of the manifold. It's very small and about 4mm in diameter. The bottom of the T Joiner connects to that. Then the Left and Right sections of the joiner just run into join the pre exisiting vacuum lines that are already on the 4zz or 3zz. You will see these when you remove the throttle body and intake manifold. They are about 8mm in diameter
Iv had no245 for a few months. Havnt actually driven it yet as I bought it as a shell and its about to get k swapped . I'm hoping to have it up and running in time foe the summer arriving
