I remember seeing this at the time (The Tube was a must-see every week as there was no other place on British TV to see music like this) and that began my love affair with REM

There was a band called Monochrome Set too, not sure if they could be categorised as Paisley underground band, but they were pretty good and made a good name for themselves for a short time.

i remember hearing this on Radio 1 one evening and thinking 'wow, that's a single?' : Peter Powell said "top five for sur." Obviously he was wrong, but it's still an amazing song. Wilder is one of my favorite albums ever...

What a bored uninspired performance. Seems too slow and the guitar seems to have a tuning problem. Not a patch on the album version.
