We are a British couple who set off in 2016 to sail around the world on our 37ft monohull. Thousands of miles and multiple oceans later, the adventure is still ongoing. Our videos document our adventures and life aboard as we travel the world full time on our sail boat Florence. Join us as we cross oceans, meet new cultures, find beautiful places and experience the highs and lows of the liveaboard lifestyle.
Florence is an Oyster Heritage 37, full boat tour here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OGuiKC53fds.html Our dinghy is called The Machine, find out all about her here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XDf3zkRpdk0.html
You have surpassed yourselves with the videography. The images of the two of you on the hill top with the sunset in the background a true work of art. Thank you for brightening my day.
1) it takes a lot of hours to edit each episode 2) we have a sailing project this winter where we will be unable to post for a couple of months so we need to be ahead on the filming and editing so we can schedule posts to release in our absence. Generally we are 1 to 2 months ahead of the videos in reality, Patrons have access to a real time tracker and real time picture updates, but these videos take time.
I’m curious on how the upgrades to Florence are behaving. Do you find the insulation and heaters have made a difference that you had hoped for? Especially since you are not exactly in the tropical waters off the coast of Scotland.
We are going to share all of that information in a review video once we have completed our circumnavigation of the UK. A review of all the things we did during the refit and how they worked out after a full season of testing them.
AFter this episode I will never again remark how much I enjoy ploughing through waves in heavy weather, because it was child's play compared to the challenges you faced, overcame, , and documented so admirably on this passage.
Im probably in the minority but I feel you've gone too far with the overly dramatic and repetitive music which is often so loud as to drown out the sea, the birds and even your voices. Ive watched since your first Atlantic crossing and the video work is at a professional level now.
The drone footage of you two at sunset on the mountain was spectacular. How did you get the drone to back away a few seconds after you did the cheers? I didn't see either of you two at the drone controls. Can you program those things to hover for a certain time and then proceed in a programed direction at a programmed speed?
We filmed in 4k with the drone and kept it stationary, then you can zoom in on the 4k image (or pan across it) during editing and still produce an HD video. That is a trick we often use :-) Just wish we had powerful enough laptops and a higher spec main camera to film and edit everything in 4k as it gives much more flexibility to reframe at the edit stage.
All these comments are great- and your videos are ace- we’ve enjoyed all of your content…. But man the music is just way too much. It’s like the dawn of summer every 30 seconds.
I think we don't give quite enough credit to cruising in our own countries. I have quite enjoyed the east coast of the US as a cruising ground. And I find myself quite alone even near major cities, at least on weekdays.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video which so eloquently describes the first two verses of Psalm 19. "The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge." NKJV
Really enjoying your travels for this season and checking out previous years too. Your approach being so relaxed and humorous and not relying on the motor to go places is so fascinating. The music is ace. These destinations look amazing, gives lots of inspiration for us to go check them out too one day.
Great video! Stunning videography! Be happy that there aren’t many other boats there lest it turns into the Med with all those nautical clowns on boats and the pollution they bring too…
Logically, I think the word would be agoraphilia; but I'm glad I looked it up to check, because they have apparently associated it with some other quite contradictory meanings as well.
Matt, re. your intro - not only can we not see another boat, I can't see any other people, cars, buses, trains, office blocks, housing estates, pylons, adverts, politicians, social media influencers, girls wearing skimpy clothing for no other reason than to grab male attention, stress, panic, divisive scandal alerts, pointless gameshows, reality TV, British newspapers, flashing blue lights, litter, tanks, people who think guns are exciting and make you safer, needlessly noisy motorcycles, reckless driving, winners and losers, mockers or victims, or DAA-DA-DA-DAAAAAAA NEWS AT TEN. It makes you wonder why (at the current count) 15,762 people have come her to watch the video, doesn't it? I mean... [ Other additions to the list are welcome. Give it a try - it feels good. ]
I can't see any knife attacks, little girls being murdered, grooming gangs, people traffickers, migrant hotels, two tier policing, pensioners being stripped of their winter fuel allowance, dodgy donations of clothes and glasses, £18M penthouses, PMs pretending to be straight, pointless mainstream media. Wow, you're right, it does feel good!
OMG! After finishing your boat refit then heading out on this new adventure the change in the filming, editing and commentary not forgetting the awesome intro video is in my opinion at David Attenborough - Planet doco level stuff. Truly wonderful, colourful, interesting and outstanding content. Credit to both of you for achieving such a high level of professionalism every single episode. 🤗
Fabulous photography, wonderful places, broadcast quality editing, altogether breathtaking. And you obviously love doing it! Thank you. This was such a pleasure to watch.
