Hello! I would like to know how James Hetfield, in live shows, changes between clean and distortion using guitar switch and probably combined with pickup setup and pedals backstage? Just to know the whole process. Thanks
you fucking rock and i love how you teaching about the switches can you play led zeppelin i know you cannnnnn haha send me the link to your led zeppelin hehe
Hello, great video! I have a Fender Squire 50th Anniversary Strat in Tobacco Sunburst. Can you please tell me if the 5 selector pick up switch has a setting for the bridge pick up only? I would think it would be in the lowest last position but it doesn’t sound like it is. Maybe it is not working properly. Thank you
Hi, it's hard to say without hearing it, but that's how it should be. You can select that position and touch the pick up with a metal little device like a screw driver or a key to test it if it makes a noise, otherwise open it up and check the connector and make sure everything is connected properly.
If you mean how to improvise, i'd say learn as many songs as accurate as possible to train your ears and techniques, then learn the cord concept, scales and arpeggios so you understand how to apply those in your own playing. Maybe it's time for me to make that video.
Thanks Harry! Watching this video made me confident that the bridge pickup is my style! Also at 5:45 you said "I would use bridge pickup" but your pickup selector is on the 5th position
Hi Valeria, thank you for watching and comment. Oh yes, I said bridge pick up when I meant to say Neck Pick Up. You're the only person spotted it. People like you who pay attention to details can be good at lots of things. That's what lots of people lack of. I teach lots of students (in person as well as by Skype) everywhere. People who pay attention to details are the one that always get better. Improvements is not to be waited but to be created.
Thank you very much I dont have trachers at my place ❤️❤️❤️ Can you make videos on must known scales and songs and what is needed to go to the next level ❤️
You're welcome Lana. I don't know where you are at the moment level ways, so it's hard to answer, but Major Scale from every mode is the complete scale to play almost every genre of music. (The fundamental scale) that everyone should learn. You can check out here; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iHuZJRcpq64.html Don't forget to subscribe. Thank you.
This was very helpful, Thanks! I always struggled to understand this on my guitar, and even when I asked my guitar teacher at the time his answer as clear as mud!
The fact that you make every style of playing look absolutely effortless while giving one of the best explanations of the pickup selector switch has earned you a subscriber. I will admit, even after playing for 25 years, I still don't notice much tone difference in the "medium-rare" and "medium-well" positions unless I introduce scoop and chorus effects.
Thank you for watching and comment. You notice the difference more when you use distortion or overdrive. Especially between the bridge and neck pickup.
Finally someone who replies from his viewers. im subscribing cause im planning to buy an electric guitar this month and i will ask you a lot of questions. More power buddy. Thank you for the tips
Well done 😅👍👌👌👌 shows how much I have to go 4 me. Made me go wow when you named each note on the fret board all the way down and up Practice practice practice 😎😎
Thank you. I play using my brain, my heart and my ears. Only using my hands as tools to generate it and make it happen. You can do it too if you approach it this way.
Hi Melissa, you can try to roll your hand backward just a tinny bit so you can lift up that 3rd finger from touching the 5th string. All you need to do is to practice to press strings with the top knuckle of the fingers slightly bent. Good luck! You will get it before you know it. Everything takes some time to practice.
