Logi MX keys for me still though - Thin, Backlit , nice weight , keys are perfect. If they did the keys-2 go with a back light then maybe they'd get my money. Note with my MX keys I re-glued the rubber feet as they have a tendency to work their way off in the rucksack. tbh I don't think I've found a better keyboard than the MX keys
How is the screen? From the video the colors look good. I recently tried the HP 2in1 chromebook plus and the colors were washed out and after 10 minutes of use it hurt my eyes. Anyone had the same experience with this one?
my 2019 ideaPad 3 chromebook was a student version and cost $169. great security but had the least user friendly file management and files are downloaded and fall under recent, downloads, camera, read only, my drive, google drive with no access to open or wrong .jpeg blah, blah... I was a windows user and not tech savvy and fast enough to pull the conversion for the exact model I had... finally, hacked and cyber sirens were blasting until shut down and let the battery die... I want ideaPad slim 3 but no way do I want any of those bad files tagging along until I am able to sort out file management (or lack there of).... if anyone out there is still awake - I'm looking for a pre cog... Minority reportish... I can't RUN and to fat to fly!! thanks
Sadly my pixelbook died almost 4 months ago. I was using it like any other day all day and had several tabs open. Which was normal for me to have at least 20 tabs running and then i heard a small pop or cracking sound and it went to a black screen and shut down and was totally dead after that. It was a sad sad day. It was my daily driver since 2018. But i really loved everything about it from day one. I have looked at a replacement from other makers but they don't have the style or class the pixelbook had.
I upgraded hdd 1TB to cheap ssd 128gb (enought for chrome os) and ram from 4 to 8gb because I have just 1 slot , on my old 9 years lenovo g50-30 , installed chrome os flex , bought new battery , clean vent , all cheaper budget chinese parts included New battery cost 50€ , all work perfect now better than new . I wish could play clash of clans and missing some android apps on it 😁 yes I can install fyde os but google ecosystem I prioritise over some apps . I don't think I could buy anything better new for €50. The cheapest Chromebook costs €200. It's like stuffing steroids into a 70 year old guy 😂
My Chromebook IdeaPad 3 keeps restarting. Lasted 4 years, it keeps restarting where I think it's a hardware failure. This Acer laptop at Costco is currently sold out.
This review is totally to the point, you nailed it. The display, battery life and overall performance are good, the keyboard and trackpad are not really good. I got it for 280 Euros plus the google in-ears, so it was quite affordable and my cheap intro to the world of chrome books. Dont regret it, as its only a secondary device, and man a lot of content for chromebook plus owners to look forward to (AI)....
I have a 513 spin and can't figure out how to read an SD card on it. I plugged in a card reader and while I would guess, the info should pop up in the files, it doesn't show up anywhere that I can find. Any thoughts? It did warn me to be careful to (something ??? the message disappeared in a couple of seconds and I didn't catch the whole message) :( . . . when I pulled out the card reader and card. I know you're talking about the 514 but I can't find any other, better place to ask about it on YT. If you can't help, it's fine. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks.
You forgot to actually type on it. How does it type in your expereince? I actually tried one out and in my opinion, it's terrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The spacebar is the main issue, with is designed in a way that it tilts to the back (it's secured to the board with some construct at the front (the side of the user) that makes it tilt to the back). The very low amount of key travel makes for a really uncomfortable experience. But the spacebar is the main issue. When doing typing tests, even though it's uncomfortable, all the mistakes I make are spacebar related. It's fine to use f.e. in front of your TV, while doing some youtubing or to type search entries in some streaming service. But to actually use if for productivity purposes it's simply not good enough. I wouldn't even want to use it to type in comment sections like this one. I compared to my really old Asus Transformer Android Tablet's keyboard and that types way better.
I do wish Surface-like mice were a more common form factor. That specific mouse was HOT GARBAGE, but the market for a lightweight mouse that folds flat for maximum portability/baggability is definitely there.
I don't know what's up with Chromebooks and capslock? What like Chromebook users don't use capslock that often? Maybe that's what the user data says, but some things don't feel, should be changed.
I sold my expensive Customized Sager Gaming Laptop, and used that money to buy me a Premium and upgraded ChromeBook Plus Acer Spin 714 with 8gb ram, and 1TB storage (Amazon). Best investment for my technology dollar.
I have been using the JLab GO keyboard with my Lenovo Duet 5 for a year or so now, and love it. But I really like the feel of the keys on the Duet's keyboard over the more full-keyboard style keys, so I'm actually kind of excited to give this Logitech Keys-to-Go 2 a try.
I always switch that "everything" button to "caps lock." I'm a touch-typist. And "caps lock" is just part of my muscle memory. Having it do anything else causes chaos when I'm typing.
I have a question guys. and girls I use voice access on Windows 11. What is Chromebooks version of voice access to control the computer with? Does it have one? I have not used a chromebook in a while and I'm really considering picking one back up because of Gemini advanced. AI. It's slick. Compared to copilot. pro.
