We moved from Oregon to Alaska in November of 2016 to seek more solitude, more challenges, and extreme adventures. Our family of 6 walked away from the suburban lifestyle to live off grid in the wilderness of Alaska. We are working with minimal equipment and little money to transform 160 acres of raw land into a functioning homestead. Extreme weather, pesty insects, small living spaces, and large animals are just a few of the obstacles we will encounter! Join us on our challenging journey to create a self sufficient Alaskan homestead!.

Ohhh one more thing if I may. =P You might wanna find an alternative to smoothies.......have you actually total up what they cost you EEEEEK!!! Maybe eat each ingredient alone.....equally as healthy and certainly would save a ton. lolol I swear I am not cheap.....but do like to rein things in.
OMG $26.99 for 12 rolls of paper towels! I pay $19 for 15.....and I don't much like doing that! I am to the point of ditching paper towels....it not worth it anymore.
Love your pudcasts, just one thing, I would imagine a lot of your views use the metric system for everything. When you mention temperatures, can you C as well as F it helps us to understand how cold it is....❤❤❤
Psalms 59:16 NKJV💓💓💓 [16] But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble.💝💝💝
lol hold on a second!!!! favorite socks for the boys? lol boys could not care less about socks lol they are your favorite socks for the boys lol lol love the channel but thats a very Ma thing to say :)
You do a great job splitting but why not back up the little wagon up on opposite side of spliter or in back of you, and put right in it instead of double handling it.
Yep...you are right and a few other viewers have suggested that too! I guess I didn't think of it in our mad rush to prepare for winter... However it would absolutely save prescious time on that chore. Thanks for the great suggestion! 😊
Suggestion: Park the garden cart off the end of the splitter so you can just toss the splits into the cart, eliminating bending over and losing 1 step in the process!
Psalms 59:16 NKJV💓💓💓 [16] But I will sing of Your power; Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning; For You have been my defense And refuge in the day of my trouble.💝💝💝
That Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise tastes amazing. We use it for almost about everything that needs mayo. The only time I don’t use it is when I have to make food that requires more than a cup of mayo, then I use a small jar of mayo of a different brand. 😊 Wonderful video as well.
Great job when you get the whole family working together :) Birch will look nice in the cabin👍, Great to use what you can & firewood the rest :) I've always prepped firewood a year or to ahead so I always have nice dry stuff for the stove, prepping is a must when you live 100% off grid incase of injuries that can happen to anyone working on the homestead that then sets you way back, It happened to me but yes I'm prepared with firewood for two years :)) Take care work safe"
Great advice!! Well hopefully you are ok after your injury.... that's always irritating more than anything just because there is always so much to do!!! No time for sickness and injury! Lol ( I am sure you understand) It was 19 F this morning... getting colder for sure... Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching!!! No, we really don't. No fast food chain stuff, never go to restaurants. The boys will occasionally eat a quick snack at our local gas station, like their tator tots, etc .. We had some homemade lasagna tonight. I cooked the meat, sauce and noodles on top of our wood stove. Then used our propane oven to bake it We try to use our wood heat to cook too! Thanks for watching!
Hello! I'm in RI (Rhode Island, smallest state in the USA) & today 10/20/2024 it's 74°. The warmest it's been in a long time. Recently it's been between 52°-63° which it's been cold. At nighttime it's been colder at night. The previous 4 months it was between 85°-100°!! I can't stand the summer time .bi try not to go outside! Try to stay warm inside, in the air conditioner. I love you guy's & your videos! You all have strong personalities & it shows all throughout your videos! Stay blessed! Sending love & positive vibes to you all from Rhode Island XOXO 💋😘
Well thank you RI! We Love good positive vibes for sure!! Yes it's funny. We all are very independent, strong minded people... It amazes me how well we get along. Now some days we do butt heads but overall just laughter, happiness and love really. The boys were such a handful when they were young. ..nice that they have turned out responsible and they take good care of Jeff and I. Thanks for watching us!
Oh thank you!!! Oh my 78 does sound pleasant for sure! It was 19 F this morning... we are having to bring in our little red generator in the morning for 2 hours to warm up now before we start it Thanks for watching !!!😊
Soon yes!! We are trying very hard to finish up our inside siding first... We sure appreciate you watching us from England! So neat. It was 19 F degrees out this morning! Brrrr
Oh 68 degrees is a nice temp... It was 19 degrees this morning here. The creeks and lakes are starting to freeze up on the edges already... Thanks for watching!😊
Wow, ground beef is very expensive there. I just bought some a few days ago from grocery store that locally sources meat & it was $4.20/lb. Bacon here is $5.99/lb. & filet mignon is $23.99/lb.
Well I like your prices better for sure!!! Yes it's pretty expensive overall here. However sometimes the wages can be good too depending on what you do. We woke up to 19 F this morning. Chilly!!! Thanks for watching 😊
I hope you save the coffee grounds for the garden? Because they are very beneficial for the plants and the compost! Mayo is really easy to make yourselves and you always know what's in it! It's also cheaper to make than buy (more often than not).
Oh thank you... It's funny as I get older Lily doesn't like me lifting heavy things ... it's cute but at the same time I feel too old! Lol Oh well, thanks for watching us!
Ha! Love it ... He does look mad but then I had a couple viewers say he looks like an introvert...he looks to me like he watches over the forest... We got him from an older gentleman that passed away. The red guy was in a load headed to the dump- and we said no, he must come up to our property!... So we have him and Frosty now Thanks for sharing your name!
Here in northern BC Canada, it’s almost 9 pm rig and 2C (34F) we had missed ran and snow today. Supposed to be getting colder next week. Great video 🌷🇨🇦
@@Alaskan6pack we were pretty lucky this year, our bugs weren’t horrible. But the wasps have been terrible. I went out yesterday to,prep my bees for winter and there are still wasps alive even though we have had lots of frosty days, oh well what can u do. Take care and keep warm
10:00pm 75 here in FL. Is that sparkling water good? Was thinking of trying it. Yup, fiber is important at my age. 😂 You don’t get Costco ground beef? Bacon? I never looked into a herbal remedy store. I get low sugar at times and keep Pepsi or a can of frosting to take. Plus my BO goes low often and the doctor told me to eat something salty. You know Sarah, it doesn’t take long to go through money doing two or three shopping trips! Thanks for taking us. Larry
Larry, hope you guys are doing good.... We are loving the meat from the butcher store. I don't know if you have ever looked into it, but devils Club is good at blood sugar regulation. Not to take as a replacement for any dr rx or anything but it's pretty amazing stuff. We make a tincture out of it Jeff takes a dropper daily. Yes those sparkling waters are great. We try to drink those instead of sodas... Take care and thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your shopping haul. Just an fyi, raw unfiltered honey has a lot more health benefits than the wildflower honey. If you prefer organic products, definitely look into the raw unfiltered honey.
I prefer everything without chemicals and additives as much as possible. Thanks for sharing about the honey... We take activated charcoal regularly to detox from environmental toxins. So I love learning things to make us healthier... Thanks for sharing!
So , funny you tried the aussie bites as I was eating them lol I like putting mine in my freezer. I grab two at a time and it takes me longer to eat them when frozen.
They are awesome. I love all the different seeds they have in them too Brady wants his own pack next time! Not a bad price either... for a good healthy snack Thanks for watching 😊
