It's a very strange phenomenon, that if you are AT the auction, and bidding on something that you ACTUALLY WANT, you suddenly can understand every single word. I've bought livestock and equipment both in Massachusetts and later in NC, and was initially afraid I'd not be able to understand NC auctions. No problem!
