The main difference between the m40 and m42 is literally that the brim/skirt of m42 has a an edge that rolls out while the m40's rolls in the reason is that the m42 is a simplified production of the m40. and could you tell more about your real m42? i want to know what marker it is, also ☝🤓
This is just a quick breakdown of the kit. I plan to do a full video very soon in the future. There are definitely some flaws to my kit as it isn't 100% accurate yet. Especially the rifle being the BAR. While there are photos of 101st using one, there are none to my knowledge being used in the d-day jump. I also have to fix my musette bag because it is super low. I didn't factor in how much my sustaintment gear would weigh it down. Anyway enjoy today's video. Like subscribe and leave a silly comment. I make videos weekly. Tuesdays we post shorts and Fridays are full length videos
@@lowkxy. Probably more derivatives then variants because officially it was "sumpftarn" and not splinter however that was a naming difference only, but in a nutshell. After the war west germany couldn't have a proper military, the west saw the soviet block strenthening & granted the existance of the Bundesgrenzschuts (Federal Border Guard) in '51. A quazie-paramilitary law enforcement agency, tasked with overall internal security and border protection. They used several variants, very minor differences, light tan dominant with darker tan secondary coloring and raindrops and red flecks for the teritary color. 20-30 years of service, phased out from the 60s to the 70s in favor of public servant type uniforms because they were "not necessary", due to well the Bundeswehr being formated in '55 and slowly being rearmed equiped etc.. The difference in these BGS variants between eachother is just general shapes and the different shades of same colors. If something doesn't make sense here probably just my poor english.
@patrolabezimena nope I 100% know what that pattern is so I appreciate the extra info. I've actually got a smock made in the pattern. My plan was to talk about it actually with a sumpftarn video since I feel the pattern does look slightly more like it. I really appreciate all this information however.
But like I said before, I just want it to be known that I am not going to be part of anybody else’s ego fest type content, if somebody else starts something with me then those who make decisions can reference me here to know what kind of person I am 🤓👆🏻
Great video! Although I wished that you would also talk about the "Sumpftarn"-variant, which were used by the post-war BGS (BundesGrenzSchutz), the federal west german border guards. There are a lot of good fotos on google of these guard-soldiers rocking this version, by just writing in the searchbar: "Sumpftarn BGS" or something like this 👍
