I am a theme park fanatic and an avid fan of Planet Coaster console edition on Playstation 5. Since the game was released I have been recreating some of my favourite rides. So far I have recreated Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando. I started this channel to share videos and POV's of my creations. I also love travelling so will occasionally post videos of my travels as well.
Great build. I'm just repeating myself at this point. But I really wish we had custom audio/video/pics. The amount of ways to use it for a dark ride would be great. And its why ive slowed down with my building in the last 2 years. I got a whole bunch of ideas for rides. But can't do them on console. And my pc only runs smoothly enough to make 1 super detailed ride.
At first I thought that about custom video and pics but now I see it as a challenge trying to recreate pictures and videos using in game pieces. (Although if Planco2 includes custom audio/video and pics I'm sure I'll soon change my mind and be using them all the time).
Cheers just watched this..not sure if people realise the time and effort that goes into creating these recreations..Well done..my first experience of the reel was age 14 on a Bank holiday day out..I remember the last bit was the best 😅
I remember watching the reel when I visited the park with my mum and dad but coasters terrified me at that stage so I never got the chance to ride. Wish it was there now so that I could have a go.
Yes, there have been a lot of changes in the 30+ years since I filmed this. Unfortunately (apart from the Big One and Icon) I can't think of many changes that have been for the better.
If I'm being mentioned in the same breath as Sylhex I must be doing something right. Thanks mate. (Although if this was a sylhex video it would probably have a lot more gore and a few dismembered bodies lying about 😂)
I agree. You could have visited the park during the day before the event started and got access to every ride (apart from grand prix) for £35. It doesn't add up
Just wish today I could enjoy all the old attractions on the Pleasure Beach that are no longer there, Virginia Reel, Log Flume, Noahs Ark, Wild Mouse, Water Chute, Cable Cars, Monorail and hours at the Fun House in my grey stockingfeet.
Cheers. Ironically the hardest part of that ride to build were the blue banners around the outside of the track. Most people probably didn't give them a second glance but I had to make them with small individual custom shapes which took ages.
I didn't realise it had a bridge. I missed that in the recreation. Although I rode Water Chute, I never actually went on it after the retheme to Vikingar.
Love this. As far as I remember I never went on this but I do remember going on the Noah's Ark at Morecambe when it was Frontierland. Does anyone know if this is the same general layout? I remember it being quite extensive at the time and a lot more horror themed than I would have expected! I miss that place so much :(
I never went in the Morecambe one so not sure if they were the same. To be honest, the layout in my recreation isn't exactly accurate to the real one but includes the bits I remember.
Brought back some more happy memories Mr A its so accurate too and I remember spending lots of time on Noah's Ark late 70's....this whole section is looking amazing from the 80's Pleasure Beach that i remember so well!!...
Glad you enjoyed it. That section of the park is almost complete now so I'll be uploading it to the Frontier workshop. If you have access to a PS5 and a copy of Planet Coaster you could download it to have a look.
Oh yes, I forgot about them. How inappropriate that sounds today😂. Do you remember in the Ghost Train as well when they used to have string hanging down from the ceiling that brushed against your face scaring the life out of you?
Ha ha. To be honest, the track layout on the recreation always had the red train winning by a mile for some reason, so to even it up a bit I made the lift hill for the red train a lot slower to make it a more even race.
@@arthurperno292 ..in the USA here there are no "fun houses" of this type left. The last at Lakeside Amusement Park in Dever Colorado, torn down in the 1980's (i assume because of the insurance costs rise by that time from increased claims of injury were too great). They too had a laughing welcome figure "laughing Sal". Opened in 1908, the park is still open having some structures from that time still existing. Im no dedicated fan to the new age theme (lego/cartoon character type) amusement parks. The old school parks provide safe creative thrills unlike the extreme flipping. twisting, and jolting provided by new parks. Regardless, once these parks are gone, they are never replaced, unless its a corporate sponsored creation (Lego)<----ack
@@501rivet Although there are some amazing new theme park rides around at the moment I still miss the old school rides that relied on physical effects rather than the trend these days of using video screens and 3D glasses. I've just posted another video of an old classic that we used to have in the UK. The Noah's ark walkthrough attraction. (I believe at least one of these still exists in the US)
@@arthurperno292 Humans evolve and many are willing to experience the newest daring physical experience amusement rides provided. Back in the day, todays thrill of bungee jumping off a 100-story building or scaling a mountainous cliff was not mainstream or accepted as "safe" by any means, so experiencing "the Whip", "Hey Dey", "Bubble bounce", or classic wooden coaster were the extreme physical thrills of the day. Truely, while accepted as engineered safe, I'm spooked by the movements of today's extreme force rides..the huge "swoop" of all that passenger weight kind of thing (on rotating swing rides), but then, I'm not a bungee jumper thrill seeker either. Regardless, a large percent of customers at amusement parks don't go on the extreme thrill rides but rather a thrill of "the octopus" or "tilt-a-twirl". Many, but not all, of these are still functioning at Lakeside in Denver, a family run park, in America, as close to vintage Blackpool as we're gonna get..
Awsome build man. Ive always wanted to see a classic virginia wheel. But i haven't built anything in a while. I'm half way through building a classic scenic railway. But I wish planco had mods so we could actually get these coaster cars. Great build.
Wasn't the slide steeper to start, I can remember it being more like a diamond drop at the start. I was only about 7 mind so I could be wrong, I remember how much I cried when I heard about it burning down 😢😢 awesome re-creation brought back so many memories and it's so true about the lack of health and safety but that's what made it so much fun 😂
Yes, I think health and safety is overrated😂. You are right about the slide. In real life it was much steeper at the start but the limitations in the game wouldn't let me build it like that unfortunately.
@@chrisjohnsonadventures When you are on the browse screen on the workshop just browse all and then press the triangle button and type Blackpool Pleasure Beach to search
Fantastic recreation. I was born in 83 wished it survived up until 2000s, the next ride i would love you to recreate is the greatest show on earth which is now burger king
Thanks for watching. I definitely want to do greatest show on earth but I've not worked out how to do it yet with the ride types available in the game. I'll work it out eventually.
No real criticism, but I believe you omitted the dark walk through section at the very beginning (not easy to replicate though I’m sure in a recreation). Also, I may have missed it but there was a “trap” floor board sure it used to suddenly collapse downwards as one tried to cross it. I always recall how my late Aunt Lily fell victim to that device to everyone else’s amusement back in our May 1972 inaugural park visit on a very wet afternoon. I could see how this place, as wonderful as it was, could be distractive in bringing footfall to the park’s other outdoor attractions on wet days. Very sad to see it go as it did but I can understand it in commercial terms, however on a very wet day most folk wouldn’t really board an outdoor attraction surely either, assuming they remained open.
Yes, I remember those dark corridors you had to walk through at the start. They used to freak me out as a kid. I left them out on the recreation just to save space. Can vaguely remember that trapdoor but can't think where about in the Fun House it was.
I remember seeing it operating on one of my early visits to the park. Wish I'd have had the bottle to go on it at least once. (I was terrified of coasters when I was young, can't get enough of them now)
