We are Jim and Chris, Canadian empty nesters of 5 kids that have a deep passion for travel and exploring new places. We think outside the box to make our trips happen and want to share our experiences and travels to encourage you to do the same.
We are too old for hostels and too young for bus tours and don't have a big budget to stay at 5 star hotels. Our target audience is for the over 40 crowd that have sacrificed the younger years raising kids and didn't get a chance to go see the world....but if you are just in love with travel at any age, we hope you can find some value here as well.
We have enjoyed some amazing travels to Mexico, Europe, Carribean, USA, and SE Asia and are not ready to stop anytime soon. We are on the "Tomorrow Is Never Guaranteed" program right now so we feel the need to chase our dreams while we can.
Can't say that this will be perfect in any way...this is totally new to us, and if we suck, at least our future grandkids have something to remember us by.
Hello, we have to he links down I. The description of the video! The one we loved the most was in Ortigia. Take a look in the bottom of the video for the link. I booked through booking.com I believe.

Hi there, thanks for watching our video. Here is the Google map location of the parking garage. It has a free bus to the old town. maps.app.goo.gl/rtAfygfUjKLasHUc6
G'day guys I'm born live in Melbourne Australia I was there two years ago in October to November. LA PUTIA IS MY COUSINS RESTERAUNT I ate there also at both of the restaurants I also know that restaurant owner with the big white moustache beard in the market street I ate at his restaurant also.
That’s amazing! Such great places. Your cousin has a fabulous restaurant! So tasty! We can’t wait to go back! Thank you for sharing and watching 🥂cheers Chris and Jim 💓
Hello guys , I am going to Sicily in September for 2 weeks , and you are the perfect you-tubers I was looking for .I cannot believe you only spend $1719.68 US in 18 days . Wow , that's amazing !!! I am expecting to spend double the amount in 2 weeks . Regarding the car rental , which company did you use and was the car manual or Automatic? I was told not to use a third party company when renting a car and go directly to the rental company web site .
That’s amazing! You will love it for sure. We have a link in the description below if you use it, it helps us out . It’s a good one with pricing too. We had a manual. Most are there. Make sure you get a small car for sure. Yes it would be easy to spend more. Keep in mind were there in low season. We also only eat out once or twice a day as we long travel. But it’s not hard to stay on budget there, cheaper than the rest of Italy so far. Thank you so much for your kind words. Cheers 🥂 Chris and Jim Have a fabulous time, let us know how it went for you when you’re back.
Hi, that's my ancient city 😚. Great video by the way !! Hope that you enjoyed a lot. I have to correct you something, it is not "puerto del puente" it is puerta with a, puerto means in spanish harbour or port, and puerta = door or gate, 😂😂😂 😂😂😅. Regards ✌️
lol… thank you for the clarification! Much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed the video, you live in a very special place 💓 hope to be cal soon! Cheers Chris and Jim. 🥂

The link is down I. The description of this video. Have a look! We loved the place, only wished we had stayed longer. Thank you so much for watching! Cheers 🥂 Chris and Jim
Years ago, my wife and I stayed in that hotel on your left looking at the bridge from out in the gorge. We had the last room on the 2nd floor all the way out to the end. What a view. Never forget it.
love you videos we will be staying in Palermo in October for 1week could you tell me where to find a quaint apt for that time or a reasonable place to stay thanks in advance
We are excited for your upcoming trip! We would suggest staying close to the four corners closest to the action or close to the marina area. I think the marina are may have more balcony options. Hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching 🙏Cheers Chris and Jim 🥂
Hey everyone, thanks so much for watching our adventure in Ronda, Spain! 🇪🇸✨ We loved exploring the stunning New Bridge and Old Bridge and hope you enjoyed the views as much as we did. We rented a car when we left Catania and dropped it out at the Palermo airport! Honestly it was the absolute best way to see Sicily! Thanks 🙏 for watching.
Any reason you chose not to do a tour of Mount Etna. I've read some great things about tours on tripadvisor so I am just wondering as the wife and I are planning our trip now.
Yes we really wanted to do the tour however time and budget were a factor. We have really heard good things if you have the time! Thank you so much for watching. We hope you enjoy the island as much as we did. Cheers 🥂 Chris and Jim
lol… we learned the hard way for sure. But it was late and it was a new country for us. It’s such a shame this is the way, but people get greedy. Thanks so much for watching! 🙏
Uber doesn’t exist in Sicily, taxis won’t allow the competition. Work is scarce enough in Sicily. I don’t believe Ubers exist even in Italy but I’m not sure.
It was rare we needed them since we rented a car, but yes they were is Catania. They were way cheaper than the taxi. But seemed to be rare.. loved the island though 💓🥂 Cheers Chris and Jim
Thank you so much! I am so excited that you enjoyed the video! We are never sure if our joke make sense or are offensive.. we absolutely love this are! Lots more to come, just landed in Rome! Stay tuned, cheers Chris and Jim 🥂
It was either a fanicular or a gondola.. at the back end of the city. It was closed in November so we didn’t see it. Hopefully you can find them. Cheers 🥂 Chris and Jim
Great video. I may have missed it. When exactly did you go to Sicily? We are in Edmonton, going to Rimini for work in Jan 2025 and then plan to head straight south to Sicily. Probably into Palermo and out of Catania. Any places you think may not be worth it in Jan/Feb 2025 due to it being colder and less sesonal?
Hey, thanks for watching and the nice comment :) We hope to have earned your subscription 😁 We were in Sicily in November and the weather was still great. A little less restaurants and not many tourists so we felt it was a great time. We're not sure about January/February, but all of the town's we visited were pretty special. I don't think you can really go wrong unless it's raining every day... but you can't control that. Hope you have an amazing trip! Go Oilers!
Our video is not wrong, because we loved it! It was our first time there and we were treated very well, other than the taxi driver lol.. What don’t like about Catania?
Cool video with beautiful people :) My only issue is that the beautiful lady wore sunglasses almost the entirety of the video. Hard to connect with people w/o seeing their eyes. Cheers
Thanks for watching and you nice comment. I guess that’s a good point, I have ultra sensitive eyes to the sun, so I tend to protect them. Otherwise I am a squinty mess.. lol.. hope you enjoyed 💓 Cheers Chris and Jim
What rental company have you guys used? Going to Sicily in October 🥰🥰🥰 update: just saw the rental company in the description and oh my god, how is this one so cheap?! the ones I was looking at were about 500$ for 10 days and this one is about 150$...you really saved us:)))
I am so glad to hear you found a deal! And if you go through our link it helps us too at no cost to you 🙏 I hope you have the most amazing time and loved it as much as we did! Cheers Chris and Jim 🥂
lovely review many thanks really want to visit there, if you get the chance check out the small town of Mineo more inland, it is a mountain top village with great views of Mount Etna, viva Sicilia !
Thanks for this VLOG. You have so expertly captured Ortigia. and have showcased its beauty and down to earth brilliance. We are going later in the year and your VLOG has been of immense help in both understanding the place and also planning things to do. Thanks again.
Thank you so very much for your beautiful comments 🙏💓 it makes us so happy when we have wonderful people enjoying our content. We hope you enjoy and have an amazing time. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Cheers 🥂 Chris and Jim 😀
Went to sicily last September. We spent a night in Catania, 4 nights in Taormina and 4 nights in Ortigia. We loved Taormina the most, unfortunately it was raining heavily during out time in Ortigia but we still enjoyed it. Taormina is magical
We were in Sicily last November. We were in Catania and I didn't really want to go to Palermo. But, we are so glad that we did. We absolutely fell in love with Palermo. We are going back this fall. What was the name of the place you stayed in?
We did as well! I will try to find the name for you. I thought we had it in the description but see that we do not. Thanks so much for your nice comments and for watching. I will get back to you when I find the name. I know I booked it on booking.com Cheers Chris and Jim🥂
If you are travelling near Catania again check out a small hill-top town called Mineo, great views of Mount Etna and the surrounding Margi valley and super nice people.
