The channel is aimed at people who are looking to holiday, in Thailand, digital nomads, or retirees who are looking to retire to another country where their pension dollars will stretch much further than it currently does in their own country. The main topic of the channel will be Thailand as that is where I am retired, but we will also take in other retirement hot spots such as Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia (Bali), Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, Panama and Belize.

@@stephengale1692 Good afternoon from Hua Hin Stephen. I hope that you are well. I see the UK is having the same problem as Thailand with flooding. Though not in Hua Hin it's more up north and down south in Phuket. I've bought several of your books and August Magazine - all downloaded without problem. I bought your Sept Magazine and as it is a Flip file I am unable to convert it so that I can read/see it? I have sent you 5 emails over the past week and a bit requesting assistance - 3 emails have bounced back (even though I copied the address from your website) and the 2 that did make it through, I have not been replied to? Is there anyone that really answers your emails? Your book/magazine content is excellent - it is a pity that your customer service after one purchases your items, lets you down. Outside of the airport, I have only been south, Jomtian, Hua Hin and North East, Mukdahan, Nakhon Phanom. I would love to do a 3 or 4 week trip up North West, but my Thai GF prefers to go to the beach areas, being from Mukdahan she likes to go to the sea when I travel to Thailand.
Hi Michael thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, my girlfriend is the opposite of yours and hates the beach and the sun and prefers rural Thailand whereas I love the beaches down south. But heading north is a great trip and a nice change from the more touristy areas. Sadly, the next few videos are my last on RU-vid as I have started a magazine The Retire in Thailand Magazine and that will take up my time for the foreseeable future but there are still a few videos that I did earlier that will be on RU-vid during September. Good luck for the future. So you made no money from RU-vid videos, not many people make a living doing it but my friend Alan does with his channel “lifeintaiwan”. Sorry to say I won’t be paying $2.99 for an online magazine. Please read this to the end as it’s not all negative. Here in Taiwan there is a free magazine called Compass which sounds similar to what you are going to do, but with a couple of differences. It makes its money by restaurants, bars, gyms, legal businesses, visa agents and car rental firms paying for advertising. It has upcoming events in the city and the expat community organised events, as well as cultural articles. It’s appeal is not only to expats and tourists as all articles are also in Chinese (local traditional version not mainland simplified). For tourists or new to the area expats there are maps in the magazine and a separate one to take with you, with all bars restaurants, points of interest, hotels etc. shown. Magazines are printed in A5 to keep down costs and distributed to bars, restaurants and hotels. The number of copies I think vary on if the location subscribes advertising or not. There is also an instagram and Facebook page you can check out to see what I mean. You may be able to get advertising in your online magazine, but tourists will never have heard of it , or be likely to find it by chance; thus reducing your audience and likelihood that a business will pay you advertising money. I hope this gives you some inspiration to expand the content in your magazine, and maybe go down the paper copy avenue to get it to generate money without a price per copy. It’s up to you. I hope you don’t think this was too negative, it wasn’t supposed to be. If anything I hope you succeed. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes with an input from a different angle can help. And finally no I’m not offering my services or want a job, I just wanted to help with an opinion different to what you are thinking. If you want to do it to make you money the distribution of a magazine will entice businesses as the readership will be higher. As you are a writer by profession I will apologise for any poor grammar or spelling mistakes. 😂 I wish you good luck for your new enterprise. Laurence

@@nunchuck7341 I believe that you can apply up to 45 days before it expires. But be careful I have heard where they renew the visa before the expiry but date it from when you applied. So if in your case it expires on 20th December and you apply on say the 20th of November they may renew it from the 20th of November meaning the following year it will expire on 20th November. It's never black and white unfortunately it often depends on the immigration officer you see and their interpretation of the rules. Best check directory with immigration to find out the protocol Cheers Ged
Hi Gerald Hopefully my wife and I will be moving to hau hin on an a retirement visa next year, Could you please tell me is the process of transferring the 800,000 bhat into a thai bank account for the first time difficult in anyway? aswell as the process opening a bank etc or would you recommend paying the extra cost to a visa company? Kindest regards Keith
Hi Keith. My book The Retire in Thailand Handbook 2023 (The Next Six Years) covers everything that you need to know about retiring to Thailand including how to open a Thai bank account as Thailand being Thailand it is not always straightforward with some banks having different criteria when it comes to foreign retirees opening a Thai bank account. There is so much information in the book as when I retired here seven years ago, I made so many mistakes that cost me a lot of time and money which was the reason that I wrote the book for people like yourself to avoid the same problems and pitfalls that I had moving to Thailand. I have also started a monthly magazine The Retire in Thailand Magazine that will be filled with interesting articles on living your life in Thailand, the first magazine was released on the 1st of August and the next edition will be out next week on the 1st of September. I have put a link below to my website where you can see my books and also the magazine. On the website, there are some specials where you can buy two ebooks at a discount. Good luck with your move to Thailand from what I see of the world in the West I think that you're making a good decision, as I did in 2017 when I made the move.
