I have to say, this of all the programs I've watched about Cuba is by far, the most informative and interesting. Thank you so much. Really enjoyable. Greetings from Queensland.
Wow! So there really is internet there...... I didn't think there was. And oh, them cars, those beautiful old cars people would pay a million for, if they could lay their hands on them.
Cuba is an Island with 12 Millions Slave, all Cubans people work for the Dictator Government in different ways, is so sad to see what all those children's have to eat, not Milk, not Meat, not sea food and not medicine, hope one day they get the freedom they deserve!!!
I'm very glad to find this type of video, it's very interesting and informative there are too many bullshitters out there just making videos that are full of crap just to make money,, Andy makes these much better and honest for people that want to travel and not be disappointed.
if the government of cuba are looking for the good and a very good future for their people they should leave the communism they must live free as the other country did, they must be a republic country so that the sanction of the western and europe country will be lifted and they will live happy more than they haved as of now.
Communism killed Cuba. Under Batista it was a nightmare, but Fidel destroyed any form of free thinking and destroyed all forms of freedom. When I landed in Havana on my way to Jamaica, there were three things I could buy on the airport. The entire works of the dictator Castro, mediocre coffee and Viagra.
Hi, I work for South Korean broadcast company tvN. we would like to use your video on our history show. Could you please let me know if we could use an excerpt from it giving the credit to your channel? Thanks :)
Except for an occasional restaurant and the street vendors working in the middle of the day I do not see people working . Just a bunch of people walking around . Their native music is fantastic .
SO SO REFRESHING TO HAVE A NON JUDGEMENTAL AUSTRALIAN VOICE, YOU SHOWED SO MUCH LOVE TO CUBA AND CUBANS, IN NOT LOOKING DOWN AT THE LOCALS,, FAIR DINKUM , NO WONDER AUSTRALIA IS THE LUCKY COUNTRY, HELLO FROM BRIGHTON LE SANDS SYDNEY..
(45:55) We have that expression too in Mexico, although it really means that a woman is very sexy; it's a bit of a difference. It's like comparing Audrey Hepburn to Bridget Bardot. Both are beautiful but Bardot has that extra factor.
An absolutely brilliant video that answered a lot of questions I've had about Cuba. And you answered those questions in the best possible way by taking me with you as you asked the same questions, and presented the answers on camera. The answers came from real life Cubans in an unedited way. Not some clinical way prepared by a governmental department putting their spin on unreality. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to journeying with you on future outings.
A country much like Russia in that it's citizens can't tell outsiders what is really happening and negative comments are not allowed when talking out loud, a country controlled by the military where the military has control over all aspects of the economy. Foreign remittances are subject to a 30% fee by the banks that are controlled by the communist government . The military is in charge of new hotel construction but nothing is done to repair buildings that are collapsing or spending money on garbage collection which is scattered throughout the city of Havana. The main problem is Cuba has a government that has no idea how to manage an economy even in bad times.By the end of 2024 , I expect to read that almost 300,000 Cubans have left the island. As it is now, at last reading ,over 230,000 have left. Who knows, maybe by the year 3000 there won;t be very many living there .
When I visited Cuba in 2018 many people were willing to criticize the government, but not individual officials by name, they did so without asking. I saw graffiti in certain areas, areas somewhat obscured from direct sight like in tunnels and alleys. They had some sad type cartoon figure who would make these announcements in graffiti form. I learned in Cuba that 2 + 2 = 5, a way of indicating that government decisions did not make sense. Yes indeed a wonderful country. Great resilient friendly people. But it is not a big full time party full of rum, cigars, dance, and freedom of speech in my opinion. I met a young 24 year old male who told me that he made more money doing bicycle tours than his girlfriend did as a college educated government scientist. He told me of the monthly rations he is entitled to as a citizen, he showed me the market he must go visit monthly and wait in line. He was allowed one chicken per month and some other food items. Cuba like many counties of all types, does have homeless people. I asked some Cuba people could they travel anywhere in the world, the answer was a reluctant yes, indicating that both money and paperwork would make it nearly impossible for most in Cuba to travel outside the country. I (2024) hear they only have ONE currency now, not the dual type of one currency for tourist and one for locals. Amazing country! I wish them well. ❤🩹
It is a good and exciting documentary. I am Cuban and left my country a long time ago. The data in this video changed a lot. Cuban people are suffering; they need to wait a very long food line, and the hospitals don't have medical supplies. Also, education is declining because many teachers are leaving the country. It is unfortunate, but once a country has the same political system, Socialism, the society falls. Human Rights in Cuba is zero. The most beautiful thing Cuba has is its people ❤
