Ah….your last point was super important…quality. The quality doesn’t match the price. So manny recalls, and just not a lot of quality control. Thanks Ben.

Great video Ben! Not only has high car prices prevented people from buying cars but also the lack of affordable entry level new cars has also reduced car buying. Pre-pandemic, there were many small cheap new cars that one could buy for under 20k, now they're all gone. Even traditionally affordable cars like the Civic and Corolla are more expensive than ever!

The paint does look very nice but 17,000 dollars for that special red paint is way too much. Could get the car wrapped to a similar gloss red for 3 or 4 grand. Could even get a shop to powder coat wheels, black out the door trims and make a standard ghibli look very similar to this one. All for much cheaper than the 17 grand Red paint.

I drove a hurricane RAM 1500 a few weeks ago when my Hemi RAM was in for an oil change. Its a beautiful motor to drive, silky smooth, very quiet (which is good because they sound awful) lots of power but not noticeably more than the Hemi. My hesitation is the lack of reliability/durability track record (yes they have been around in the Grand Wagoneer for a couple years but that's such a low production vehicle its hard to get a good sense of how reliable they are so far) and the fact that they at best get the same MPG as the Hemi and in real world use they get worse MPG. I just traded my 2022 Hemi for a 2024 Hemi so hopefully by the time I need another one the Hurricane will have proven to be a reliable/durable motor.

I think mitsubishi need to make there brand cool again race cars and rally cars and they need also expand there verity by adding pick up trucks back plus what there lacking is advertising u don't see hardly any commercial for them and it alway the suv outlander. Maybe bring back legend cars they use to make but make them better

People really can’t afford these giant vehicles. I bought recently a 3 cylinder compact car. 14 inch wheels. Its good on gas and fewer things to break and everything like tires or new radiator down the road is cheaper because its smaller.

You are spot on with your assessment. For those who may not remember, Mr Marchionne’s plan was to have a broad product line up in the B,C & D segments. Alfa would have their version of an X1, X3 and X5 crossovers and a 3 series and 5 series sedans. Alfa would also have a performance coupe and convertible. All Alfa Romeos would: Be “race” inspired with a quadrifoglio version. All would be class leaders with regards to performance. Have a 50/50 weight distribution. Have a unique “Alfa” look and presence across the marque. Sell 400,000 units world wide concentrating in Europe, the U.S. and China. Alfa went racing and joined the F1 circuit to enhance the brand. Sadly, Mr. Marchionne passed away and his successor cancelled the plan while looking for a suitor to merge with and this is what we are left with. I purchased a 2018 Stelvio and lived three hundred miles from the dealership who also sold and serviced Mercedes, BMW and Mini. Guess which brand wasn’t afforded a loaner car? Guess which brand didn’t have a full time certified technician? Guess who now owns a BMW X5 and 4 series convertible?

You’re definitely right about one thing you cannot talk lol; Did you buy your license? Don’t blame the driver blame the manufacturer LOL😂 BS. NOOO !!! in the case of the Mitsubishi outlander!!! I say 100% without a doubt; It’s you the driver; not the vehicle. You just gotta know how to drive it!!! as with any vehicle depending on making model. I have lined up at the red light with high performance sports cars, and I still make it out of the red light before them 😆 even when they clearly wanted to raise me up in a red light competition, I won every single time. Sure I can’t beat them in a long run, but I can definitely beat them in the red light sprint. ha ha no problems with my Mitsubishi outlander. Just put it in tarmac mode and be sure to hit that gas nice and light at least halfway at the right time when the green light comes on base model Mitsubishi outlander 2022 anyway will win every time ha ha f ya BEOCHEZZ. Suck it.

I understand and agree with a lot of your concerns, especially for people who don't own their homes. However, most of your talk is in generalities, the few numbers you declare aren't accurate, and your broad conclusions are skewed based on that and on too little additional research--no stated sources. Therefore, your commentary lacks both perspective and context. Your personal experience is not typical of EV owners in general, and you should have known that before making this video. I wish you well in your RU-vid content provider efforts. Just remember that the whole world is watching, so if you're not more informed than the vast majority of people on a given topic, you might not be taken seriously.

Okay don’t know where YOU live but new car AND used car prices where I live HAVE NOT CHANGED. And incentives? WHAT incentives? My son-in-law is Honda salesman & their sales are WAY down which for them is unusual. Same with CDJR lot. Their prices so outrageous nothing moving but believe Stellantis is purposefully trashing American brands.

Toyota lost money in FY2022 in North America, and in FY2023 North America had the lowest margin of all regions as it had only 3% in operating profit margins compared to 11% world-wide. So Toyota does need to cut costs or raise prices (or do both). Unless things have radically changed in the past few years, the general understanding among Japanese auto-industry has long been that the "optimal" dealer vehicle inventory target in North America should be around 50-60 days. Therefore, Japanese automakers will either adjust incentives or production volume of each model (or do both) based on current sales trends and inventory levels. I suspect this comes from decades old practices because it took about 50-60 days to ship cars from Japan to the North America, and most models get refreshed every year, and they didn't want large inventory of the previous year version. That said, new cars sales for Toyota and Honda in 2024 in North America is about 40-50% hybrids. So looking at sales volume of each model has become increasingly challenging unless the automakers disclose sales of hybrid version and regular version of the same model. Japanese media reports say that hybrid inventory in North America is less than 10-15 days due to stronger than expected sales. So far in FY2024 (Apr-2024 to Mar-2025), some of Toyota's Japanese plants were closed for typhoons and inspection/re-certification, impacting the supply and inventory levels of certain models world-wide. It's been reported that Toyota's Mexico plants has also had trouble with components. (Apparently, too many turnover in the factories of the suppliers in Mexico, which led to Toyota's production cuts in Mexico plants.) Additionally, Toyota's labor union in Japan strongly requested a production cut for domestic plants because they were so over-worked in last fiscal year. Thus, daily production volume target was reduced to 14,000 vehicles per day in FY2024 (Apr 2024 to Mar 2025) from FY2023's 15,000-15,500 units per day. So a lot of moving parts. Some are intentional, some are unintentional like the truck recalls.

Or you have people like me who could, but will not buy a new car, especially Toyota, because they won't build/stock base or lower trim levels. Or like my local jeep dealer, they will take a base Wrangler Sport and lard it up with $11K of options. And at this point, I would not trust Toyota quality as far as I could throw one of their overpriced Tundras.

EVs and hydrogen without infrastructure are junk. Hybrids are the best short term answer until batteries and infrastructure catch up.The Steam engine went extinct in the 40s and diesel electric locomotives have been their replacement since them. Diesel electric IS a hybrid !!! Today, Edison Motors has a succesful hybrid logging truck that beats the Tesla in both power and fuel economy and most importantly, and it is lighter than the standard trans truck NRA. No range anxiety. Get it straight .. The infrastructure TODAY CAN NOT support EVs or hydrogen but hybrids can and are doing it with no infrastructure change with BETTER FUEL ECONOMY WITH PROVEN TECHNOLOGY
