I have used the co2 stoneking for years. Best tyre I've ever used provided I run it at 8 psi.....yes 8 for rear and in the teens for the front depending on the terrain. Never had a puncture either They have stiffer sidewalls and get thousands of ks out of them on a 300 2 stroke. Run your Mitas with low pressure and you'll never look for another tyre.
Update. I ride 15min with the PA today. It's a hell of a machine, but not for me! It's fast, brakes well, suspension perfect. But. Legs are cramped and positioned to high. The real power comes in above 6000rpm. When you used to cubic inches and torque starting from 2000rpm,....there s no way back...
I think about a swap from my 2023 RKS to this. I only sat on it and find you sit far away from the handlebar? I'm 6'2" ?! Do you have had batterie issues? No electronic problems? I hear the corner lights are flashing and looks you want to hurry up the cars in front of you... I go to make a spin on a 2021 with 3000K's on it this weekend. Tnxs for your toughts
I'm 6'3" I have fitted a lowered footpeg and extended shift lever, I run the seat in the high position and roll the bars back slightly, I feel the reach is comfortable. I messed around with risers and different bars but found stock is best. Yes my stock battery died at about 12000km replaced with a slightly stronger battery had no issues. They are an awesome bike, so much enjoyment and riding pleasure! Enjoy if you decide to join the cool club on the Pan Am! I still love it
With the adjustable height seat and the ride height that drops when stopping its pretty good, just go to a dealer and get them to demo the variable ride height feature, it drops 2 inches when you stop and start off. Great feature on the Special models.
As with the guy with the GS... has youres got tps? diddnt see it, how did you go, i thought HD needed to reset them? cheers , always entertaing 'n admire the open spaces you get to enjoy, youre great value from across the ditch
I’m not a fan … they are amazing on tarmac, but off road I think off-road we deserve better. I wore my rear out on a 701 in just 2200 km. I’m shocked your experience was so different
Worst adventure bike out there, don't do it... Maybe give them a few years to work out kinks but even then Harley will never be known for reliability or performance. Now with their last decision at the top to go green I'll never buy another Harley.
i buy this tyre little bit by mistake (i want previously Mitas tourance ADV), but after this test i just keep them :D (the bike store change it and i dont notice until i have them on bike..) :D:)
Watched this a second time - really helpful. I'm in Europe atm and need a bike that can do highways well (130+ kinda stuff for hours), bendy alpine roads and can be taken down the (usually easy) TET tracks and roads. I know your perspective - and skill level - so this has been a great review....I'm gonna get me a Harley. and send the Tuareg back to aus for adventures there. 👍

Thanks! Yeah mate I am so stoked to ride with Steve, we ride mx together on weekly basis and when we can get out on the big bikes, he is a true gentleman and legend.
Tc was off, nah I stuffed up turning around there was no room, then got wedged on the tree, it was quite a challenge! Steve's knees are not good thus the solo lift!
Nice honest review. I was a little surprised you hadn't gone with barkbusters given your go anywhere riding style. Where did you get the mudguard extenders from? cheers
Not a fan of barkbusters I've seen guys get they're arms stuck. The plastic ones are fine once modified. Umm I think the mudguards bits were all on Aliexpress
It will always mark the rims a bit, ever since they went to black rims on mx bikes as well, they always end up with small marks on the rim, I think you can buy plastic rim savers that clip in when using levers, but to me its just part of bike ownership. My GasGas 450 mx bike has silver rims, you don't see any marks. I know a little trick is to touch them up with a black marker pen.
Great video and amazing scenery! Wish I could ride on our beach here in New Hampshire USA. I was wondering if you disabled the adaptive ride height when stuck in the sand, would it of helped having my ground clearance?
Cheers mate yeah we are lucky here to get access to some cool stuff! I think I had the bike in Off Road Plus which disabled the ride height, ie leaves it in high position, I think??? But if I ever get stuck again I'll check for sure! All the best to you!
@@oldmanspeedadventures Reason why I asked was because I thought I saw the bike "squat" when you were in the deep sand, but could be wrong. Ride safe and keep the adventure vids coming!
Been a super busy year, done some training and mtb videos but got stuff all traffic to them, it seems people like the ride videos, so that is where my efforts will go, should be pumping a few vids out this year! Stay tuned and spread the word!
Thanks yeah it was a real awkward spot, Gally couldn't come as his knees are shot and ready for a replacement on both, I wasn't sure whether to leave all that footage in, but it shows the real deal, did you see I got my leg pinned when I dropped the bike!
@@bradforester3635 nah mate I didn't crash bike, I dropped it turning around, Steve had the camera filming while I rode up, I dropped the bike turning and that's where the bike was laying, I went back down and grabbed the camera and filmed getting the bike out. Nothing I do is fake mate.
