Cheers it really is a great loop, we do it quite a bit, plus as you would know there are 4 ways up and down the mountain, I will do a Beachmont loop soon as well.

Awesome places to ride so close to home, mixture of dirt and bitumen, plenty of mountains!

Great to see you both out on the bike again. Really enjoyed the vlog. My back yard too, so it was all the more enjoyable picking out all the familiar spots and even a few new ones to visit in the near future. 😊

Glad you enjoyed it cheers! In some of my vids you will see me wearing a black jacket, its my favourite made by Oxford, I bought it knowing the poms will know how to waterproof a jacket! I am assuming they are a pretty big brand in the UK?

Big fan of riding Mt Tamborine. The temperature drop as you get near the top is awesome in summer. And if you guys are coffee drinkers, I recommend the Mt Tamborine coffee plantation.

It really is just the best if you can get a clear run. Thanks for the coffee tip! I will have to see if they cater for my caffeine free capacino!

Great video, beautiful scenery and the background music was a nice touch. You know there’s only two things wrong with Canberra, the occasional cold day and all the politicians that everyone else in the country sends here. Guess where I’m from. Also have a pan am and loving it. Stay upright, cheers.

Mate you live in an awesome part of Oz, I am actually a Cooma lad and miss the mountains, the south coast and the access to some amazing places. Love it down south, oh you can keep the pubes down there!

Thats awesome you live in a great area! The cafe reminds me of a beach cafe we go to in Bali, with the tree in the courtyard, just without the humidity! I was going to talk about the devastation that Tambo recently went through, hope you got through it all ok, my mate is an Energex worker kept me up to date on what was going on, crazy.

@@oldmanspeedadventures Thanks for checking in, we had a bit of roof damage, but we where lucky, others lost houses. The hardest thing was the no power for 13 days. Please pass on my thanks to your mate, when we saw the damage to the morning after the storm we thought it was going to take months to fix. The Energex guys smashed it

Mate, I admire your videos, we have been riding the same time except I think iam a bit older than you, my point is the front tyre,surely you would have a enough money to buy a tyre, you should know that if you plug a tubeless tyre when you get home replace it , even more so the front, if not for your sake that your wife’s sake, safe riding in the future.
@oldmanspeedadventures
@oldmanspeedadventures 6 месяцев назад
Cheers, yeah I agree to a point over the front tyre, please keep in mind I run a TPMS (tyre pressure management system) on the bike and I am vigilant on tyre pressure as I can view it on my display whilst riding. The plug repaired a small leak that dropped 10psi over 2 hours when I came back from the desert region. Yep 2 new tyres needed 100%, agree, but I also calculate my own risks, I have been offered varied advice on plugging, a seasoned motorcycle mechanic told me just plug it and forget about it. Anyways appreciate your concern greatly, new tyres coming. Im going to do a tyre review on these, and I am thinking of the Dunlop Trailmax Raid next, hearing good reports.

How do you find the engine temperature in the hot areas? I went for a ride on my Pan Am in 40c the other weekend, got no hotter than 107C, but that was 12 hours at 60 to 80kph on back roads. This week I was riding home in traffic in the City, it was slow 40kph splitting lanes for 20km, the bike got to 111 to 113C, felt too warm and was hunting at idle at 113C, it was 99C at 80kph. It was around 38C outside. I had the bike on Sport power (150hp) and max engine braking. I tried it the next day, very similar, but with Rain power (80hp), so 53% of Sport, and minimal engine braking setting, and it only got to 105C and was 89C at 80kph. I was impressed with the drop in temp using low power and minimal engine braking.
@oldmanspeedadventures
@oldmanspeedadventures 6 месяцев назад
I have never really had the engine that hot, I could see how in traffic it would, but lucky for me I don't deal with it often. On all my big rides, including 40 degree plus in the desert region it got up to 105 to 108 a few times. I was told the fan cuts in at 108 so I guess 113 is not too crazy high, interesting though. Most of the time out west it was between 98 to 105 while riding. I put one of those heat deflectors on the left side to blow the heat away from your leg, found it on Aliexpress for 40 bucks.
@hughmac7423

Most of my riding is in traffic, I use the Pan Am as a commuter in Melbourne, most of the ride is on the freeway, so it’s only bad when there’s too many cars. Luckily, they let us use the bus lanes for half the ride 😎
