I DREAM to see the whole course of how you code this plugin on python it takes so many topics how to work with lists, cache instances and splines - looks like the series of videos - Spline Chamfer - Season 1 episode 6 for non coders like me it is sooooo thrilling and interesting thank you so much for sharing you knowledge !
Great video, thanks! Is there an easy way to have several lights with a gradient but only one shader? If you use the shader for several lights and you make changes to the intensity of the light, the intensity of the other lights will change too, because it is linked. But if I have ten lights in a scene with the same gradient, it makes no sense to have 10 shader for that
You can do this in Maya also, but here's what I did: 1. Sew all the UVs together 2. Pick the top/bottom cap + 1 edge as you showed 3. Cut UVs 4. Unfold UVs 5. Manually adjust to tex Vid here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pNp1CJ3adKQ.html
This is a great tutorial. Can you or someone who sees this help me figure out how to generate TP based on a node in a redshift material? For some reason I remember seeing somewhere it is possible a couple years ago but cannot find anything. X-Particles is dominating all the search engines even when I specify TP/ Thinking Particles. Thanks.
Chatgpt tells me that if I want to send a value greater than 255, I need to use "struct.pack()" function, like value = 512.34 data = struct.pack('>f', value) //'>f' for float, '>H' for unsigned short int
Whenever my scene replays thinking particles(from matrix object) dissapear.. and i need to turn the matrix object on and off to get them visible again. I dont know how to fix that
Right from the start, I'm stuck 😥. Totally new to C4D, but has 'Object Group' been removed from the latest version or is this not available in C4D Lite?
Thanks man! This was pretty pleasant tut. I had some low expectations, but after messing with the parameters, I created some complex and pretty interesting forms! If someone is not seeing the geometry updating after u exposed the parameters, just use the move tool and the new Inset/Extrude will be updated! Interface bugs... <3
Thanks for this video Noseman! Is there a way that you could have multiple shapes being distributed? I'm thinking this would make a great set up for a condensation droplets and it would be awesome if you could have a variety of droplet shapes.
You could but it's not very straightforward. You need to create a switch node with various object inputs and use the index to select which object to clone in each position. The other issue is that the packing only calculates circles and spheres so any non circular/spherical objects won't be adjacent to each other. I was planning to do more tutorials on the subject but have been very busy.
Thank you for the reply @@noseman. Interesting but, like you say, sounds complicated! I did find a good workaround though, which is simply to swap the circles / spheres for an object with a single vertex and then link a cloner to the object group and set the distribution to vertex. Works a treat and opens up access to all the potential of using effectors with the cloner.
Hey sir, thanks for the plugin, is really useful, it'll be perfect if there was an option to reverse the point order of the generated spline. Thanks again!
in 2024, this method seems to be broken. At least on my end it freezes and crashes and no vertices ever seem to come through for the Cloner to work on. Does it work for you (or anyone) in 2024.2.0?
just opened this project in 2024.2 and it works without a problem. www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/pf80snanvak8kijipskcb/Ray-Casting-Clones-Geometry-Modifier-01A.c4d?rlkey=8grdr42cufab4wg1pwepb31u8&dl=0
This is a highly intelligent solution! Thank you Noseman. As a fast workaround for not serious projects as Cinema 4D adds points for each frame, reducing the FPS to 1 could also simplify the resulting spline in some cases.
"In Adobe Illustrator, there is a command for simplifying points on curves, and it works quite effectively. I hope for a similar functionality within Cinema 4D."
I can't believe that a software that always puts intuitiveness and ease first, would create an annoying and complicated node system like this. Really annoying compared to the node system in Houdini and Blender. Developers should have consulted other node systems before starting to build.
