Isn't it awesome how peaceful the high mountains get this time of year. Never done the Tuolmne part of the Sierra. Just because of the crowds. I see why it's so popular. Enjoy every minute you can cause it will end at some point. Happy trails
just found your videos .. started watching the PCT stuff You hit me in the face with your comments 0:23 to 0:49 ... You are talking directly to me .. i put that on a loop .. and i plan to watch \ listen to it as a religious mantra at the start of my morning exercises
Hey Mike, thanks for the shout out. Dicks pass in the 1st snow! Reminiscent of October 72'. So quiet. Your buddy Dave is a crazy man. But then again, so are you! LOL. Happy Trails
Good music at 2:30 mark. I was stationed at a Plumas NF Forest Fire Engine base 2 miles upriver from Belden. Left my large cab over camper permanently at Belden, 1988-89. Jeff and his wife and her look alike sister ran the place. Just upriver on the Beldentown side, our engine crew-PNF Engine #682, would skinny dip in a deep pool with big boulders to sun on. My assistant engine crew foreman was a fine looking, well built lady, and she was after me. We skinny dipped privately several times. I resisted her seduction attempts, as she and her boyfriend had transferred down from Happy Camp on the Klamath NF. Her boyfriend kept hinting to me about Grandma, his name for his.357 . My wife and I did a photo journalism feature on Jeffery and his wife in 1992, for the Feather River Bulletin newspaper, out of Quincy.
How'd ya like your folks new wagon? Pretty sweet. Interesting to hear about the number of folks "on trail". Im thinking things will thin out now that you've passed the bulk of the nobo's. Can't wait to hear what you think of Desolation. If you get the chance to go off trail, Lower Velma lake is a pretty special place. Happy trails
Thank you so much for this video! Here on this Labor Day weekend decades ago me and great friend hiked this same trail! Of coarse we had too heavy of backpacks and it was a grinder going up that never ending trail! But make it to Hancock and Tom Taylor’s cabin was still there! Thank you! You made my day!😀
I never comment on anything ever. But I just wanted to say I have been following your journey since the beginning and your videos are so amazing. Not sure why you don’t have more views and a following but all of that will come one day. You do great work, I look forward to watching your videos. Your music taste is really good and I hope you keep pushing on. You got this. I plan on doing the PCT SOBO next year. Maybe one day I will meet you on trail !!!
Freaky weather, but still beats a heat wave for putting on miles. Glad you didn't get hammered with the rain like out on the coast. Really nice to see clear skies smoke free. Good luck to you
Love all your Marble adventurous! When you get mad you sound like me! I’ve been to the wrights three times boulder creek was a bitch big meadows is the best sky highs and shadow Campbell and Cliff three times hiked the tree line to the top and saw maneaten and went to Hancock once wow that was long and Tom Taylor was a mean SOB
Etna is a tripy little town. For that matter, so is Fort Jones up the road. Glad they got the Shelly out in time for you to pass through. It got within 1/2 mile of my buddy Doug's. On to Shasta, Burney, and Chester. Happy Trails
Welcome to California! LOL. Good to have you back. Warms this old man's heart to follow your adventure. Watch out for cold, and rain. A winter like storm coming Friday, and Saturday. Three big sections to go. Walk on, walk on.
Did you cross paths with a couple going north a couple miles south of the magic Hot Dog stand in the woods? They commented on a solo sobo that told them a surprise was 2 miles ahead. Thought it might be you. They're posting as "travel, write, paint". Anyway, fun to follow your adventure. Peace
