Insane that it's the second last part already, been really enjoying the series as I love genealogy but so many of its details just won't be noticed that well in a single playthrough and even after playing it a few times and really reading up on it I still miss lots of characterisation and story points which are highlighted very well in your videos. Can't wait for the last part whenever it does eventually come out
I always pair Erin with Azelle, so i like headcanon that she named Ced after the crusader from Silessia to disguise the fact that he has Velthomer ancestry and is related to Arvis
I sometimes wonder why Chapter 9 ends the way it does, I understand not wanting to give you Arion, because there were a lot of reasons from the gameplay-side, he's pretty OP, to be recruited before the Final Chapter, and the way the Castle was designed actually made pretty awkward to be able to fit Arion into the Army, so getting him as a Green Unit in the Final Chapter was the best compromise for the limitations the game put on how Arion should be used in the story... And of course, if the Chapter ended with just a victory lap after defeating Judah could be a bit dull too. Basically, Arion was cursed because FE4 is a game. But regardless of the reasons this was likely done... I still wonder... why the heck Julius appeared out of nowhere to save Arion? That was so random xD
20:44 57:33 🤣 Amazing bits, these both got me I never really thought about Arion like that before, but you make some great points. He is kinda dumb when all of this could have been resolved peacefully. Got to have a big boss to end the Thracia arc I guess. Really looking forward to the finale!
Knight Lord looks like Marth on a horse Also in hindsight, Arion was probably a better foster sibling to Altena than Ishtar was to Tine if you consider their respective reactions to their little sibling defecting to the enemy. Makes sense that he’s way nicer than Travant
I'm late but I might check this game out, sounds like fun, although I wish the story was better since I'm a sucker for that. Btw you referenced Growlanser? I thought I'm the only one that ever played that game lol, it's so good! (pls i just want someone to talk to about it😢)
This game really fun! I can put hours just to build comp and set my tactic. Also this game actually encourage player to build so many comps to tackle different maps. I build flying strike team with Griffin Master x Shield shooter to go behind enemy lines. Ground strike team with werefox that can jump everywhere. The movable fortress with Bruno and Virginia and the standard nuke team using Elemental Roar and Dragon Dive. Maybe it's to complex at the start for newbie but hoo boy. If you hooked, you got hooked hard.
The hassle is real. I almost beat Genealogy of the Holy War for the first time with Gen 2 substitutes. But despite the issues, I love this game. I love the Gen 1 story, and Gen 2 is like FE1 with a more personal stake for us, the players, as we've seen the results of Gen 1. This also has my favorite implementation of child units in Fire Emblem as it actually makes sense. 😂
One thing i pointed out to my friend when i guided him through FE4 was that individual parts of each chapter could be split into separate chapters, and in other FE games, they would be separate chapters. Like the prologue could be split in two, chapter 1 could be divided into three, etc
Here's a really funny thing about Lester. As well as just funny about Brigid and Aideen. So, whichever offensive stat is used will be 30%. So Aideen has 30% magic and Brigid has 30% strength. But they also have 20% in the growth they aren't using, which is Strength for Aideen and Magic for Brigid. I don't get the logic with magic for Brigid's kids except I guess to make her daughter better at range because sword locked. But Aideen's 20% strength growth exists to give Lester +10% on top of whatever his dad gives him. The Strength growth also makes sense from a story perspective because she was training to be a knight before she joined the clergy. This also has the funny effect of Lana having higher Strength growth than Magic growth if you focus on Lester instead. For example, a Lana sired by Midir has 35% strength and 32% magic. 45% strength if sired by Jamke.
Late as fuck but I'd like to correct you on the bit about Erin's kids. Their classes DON'T have Pursuit by default. They get Pursuit from Erin herself. You can see this on characters who have those classes but not that skill, like a promoted Lewyn and Fee's replacement, Femina.
so I beat the game yesterday with over 160 hours in my file and I did not know you could have multiple movement points for one unit to go to subsequently like in the clip at 3:50 .Whenever I wanted to make specific moves for a unit I’d do it one point at a time and I saw that clip and was dumbfounded at myself Edit: 18:10 that is literally the exact same recolour I put on Virginia in my play through, good taste
I wasted so much time on Ogre Battle... I want to own this game but looks like they have no plans to release it on steam for some reason? Unfortunate, I would definitely buy it....
I got rly bothered by the story when they tried to slightly guilt trip me after i sent a guy to prison at the beginning, because the game thinks that pillaging, killing and stealing is fine as long as you're doing for some random schmuck's sick sister. Also there was this Gaston lord that they tried REALLY HARD to make him look like a villain... but he was just... rationing food, no one was going hungry, dude's just preparing for winter, also with war happening, famine always comes later (war which YOU started), and Alain is like "he is evil because he's stealing food from the people!" Ffs who is this for, 5 year olds? The game is great overall, but the story is really childish at times
I made Lex as Lester's dad and he and his sister became op real quick with paragon level ups and high defense growths. Lana still capped magic and speed and got op staves from her mom so the defense growth boosts only helped her by adding bulk.
Honestly, in my opinion, While Bewolf and Lachesis being talking about Eldigan is probably what the writers were going for, i just like Finn's interpretation more. I feel it's even kinda poetic, since (SPOILERS) they break off in the desert, and years later, thats where lachesis perishes to look for their child, leaving finn behind. Anyways, great video as always!
I found your channel just today, and gotta say, i'm SUPER impressed by this series. It's super well edited in a way i barely ever see with other FE content creators. Congrats! Looking foward to more
That's a really down to earth and honest review. Subbed. And regarding the horny outfits, i believe they don't do it for the sake of attention. Whoever design genuinely wants to do that.
Really good video! You mentioned the Ring of Maiden bit fleshing out characters and the lack of intensely emotional material for the voiced lines, and I can only remember the "Bad true ending" scenes you get if you choose the "wrong" option after the final fight against Galerius. Your chosen maiden gets a LOT of dialogue in that scene, and really drills in how deep the bond between you and your maiden really is. It's a shame, however, that most players will go for the "good true ending" with barely any maiden dialogue, and miss out on these scenes. Unless they go back to the final fight and pick the other choice out of curiosity - was there an achievement for getting the other ending? I played on Switch so I wouldn't know, lol. Once again, really good video! I'll definitely check your Fire Emblem content too, keep up the good work!
6:50 Sadly.... I am that person. I bought FF Tactics on the PS1 when it came out and was so excited but quickly realized I was way to damn Dumb for strategy games. So over the years I have been on the outside looking in when it comes to strategy games. Enjoying the art work, wishing I could join in on the other parts of them that I love but just generally watching what other people are doing in them and stuff. However, the Demo of this game really sold me. For whatever reason it was just clicking as I was playing and I couldn't even believe I was planning and playing properly in one of these games and the losses only served to make me learn a major lesson. Anyways, I am so grateful for this game for getting me into strategy for the first time ever.
