As both an artist and teacher I enjoy creating and sharing my videos with art students and/or art appreciators. On my channel you will find several watercolor tutorials. Watercolor is one of my favorite mediums. I enjoy showing viewers how to paint anything from a still life to a portrait or landscape. My watercolor videos are created as a supplement for my in person watercolor students and likewise with my portrait drawing and oil painting videos. If you watch closely you should be able to pick up little tips whether drawing with graphite, painting in oils or watercolor. If you enjoy my content, please like, comment, share, and subscribe to my channel.
As always, thank you for watching and happy painting! Jo Ellen Reinhardt

Wonderful tutorial. One question: Your materials list calls for Burnt Umber but in the class you say use Raw Umber. Does it matter if I use the Burnt rather than the Raw?
Masking fluid or drawing gum comes either clear or colored. There are pros and cons to both. The masking I use is Pebeo. It's fairly fluid. I like it because of its tint since it shows up better than something clear. I prefer applying it with a brush. However, You need to pretreat your brush with a solution of water, a little dish soap and a little ammonia, otherwise you will gum up and ruin your brush. Hope this helps!
@@newenglandschoolfineart6125Thank you! I really appreciate your willingness to explain what you’re doing and why. As a beginner, your commentary is extremely valuable as I’m trying to learn more about this new-to-me medium.❤️
Not only is Jo Ellen the perfect “ blend” of Artist and teacher but she is a magician, creating her magic whenever she combines a brush, some paint and some water to effortlessly create a magnificent piece of art..every single time! Wow just wow. Thank you Jo for sharing your gift with us each week.
Thank you Aggie for your kind comments. Creating and having fun in the studio wouldn't be the same without you! I truly appreciate all of your support and friendship!
Donna, you are just so awesome! One of these days we are going to write our book! Thank you for all of the support and friendship throughout the years!
What a beautiful painting and a fascinating video. So helpful for a novice watercolour artist like me to see how to trust the process and push through the ‘I think I’ve ruined it’ phase! Thank you so much - I will be a much braver painter from this video on.
I utterly and completely enjoy every moment learning from you and watching your skills. I have progressed to where now I think, I bet she'll darken that, I think she'll soften this and love to watch it develop! Your talent as an artist and skill in teaching are gifts to us. I so enjoy your music choices as well. It is one of the most relaxing things to do: Watching a Jo Ellen tutorial. Many thank yous!
