Good stuff.... That said cycling along with running/distance running generally I would regard as a toxic, dangerous sport and environment for those with restrictive eating disorders who are wishing or trying to recover from a restrictive eating disorder - there is an unhealthy focus on being ultra lean and losing weight, there appears to be a mantra of if I cycle x distance I can eat this as opposed to eating to cycle versus cycling before I can give myself permission to eat. Anorexia hit our family like a tornado turning our life and our daughters life upside down, it took our daughter 3 years of hell to beat the dangerous illness including being detained under the mental health act and nearly dying twice due to her internal organs starting to fail, for her exercise would be a poison and all it would do would be to maintain restrictive eating behaviour patterns, essentially there are three outcomes for those with restrictive eating disorders, you recover fully, you recover so you do not require inpatient medical but you maintain restrictive eating behaviours so called unicorn recovery and restrictive eating behaviours hidden by such things as cycling etc, or sadly you die, whilst my daughter was an impatient two young people died - restrictive eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses however because they are not well understood generally and by the medical profession and often just seen as faddy eating. Anyway I hope life brings you much joy and keeps you out of the dark place that is a restrictive eating disorder.
This is a good addendum to the film. Human motivation is mysterious and often confounding. Best to always keep that in mind. We don’t need to think we’ve reached the place of answers. It’s a mirage.
Please if you can…not even SJS cycles or SON have a video up… please make a video on how to correctly solder the SON junction box and get polarity perfect. It’s designed to connect both a charging device and run lights at same time while only having one wire up the fork. Thank god a video went up for coaxial connector but as soon as i plug in my jack to my usb port my lights turn off. Cant figure out if it’s the junction box improperly wired or the separate jack i soldered. Really annoyed due to sheer cost of setup and zero info. I do own alot of the same soldering items like yourself from SON to try and remain using dynamo systems possibly selling complete kits as a side job
I bought a Strael and a Secan about 3 years ago and love these bikes. Indeed the preparation was awesome and perfect. My old fixed-gear bike has outlived it's life and I decided to strip it and add a new frame to my collection. I purchased a Fixie frame from State Bicycle, a USA domestic manufacturer that has a pretty good reputation. As I was building up the frame, I realized just how wonderful the Fairlight frame prep was. This is in no way a slur on the State Fixie, which is beautiful and a nice ride. I did, however, notice all the additional labor that I had to put into the assembly, chasing threads, filing a few burrs, replacing the mounting bolts with something a little more artistic, etc... The Fairlight Framesets did cost 3 times at about $1000 US (each!!) A good example of getting what you pay for, but in this case it turned out just fine.
Loved this short film! Hope that by the end of this whole journey we can have a few word from Marin, I know he’s not a social media guy but I would like to hear his honest thoughts of such a long ride on a Holt, because I’m planning a long tour myself and I’m debating whether I should go with a Holt or a Faran, by the way I’ll be riding a Secan this next summer 😎🚴🏻♂️
I’m 16 and Marin is my biggest inspiration, because of him I bought myself a Strael and am inspired to ride it every day. I’m also part of a cycling club and all my teammates don’t understand why I’m racing on a steel bike, I just tell them to watch videos like these 😂. Anyway all the best Marin and thanks Fairlight. I think I’m right in saying that if you collected the bike you’d only pay 4%. But your flight etc would negate this saving unless you are travelling to the UK anyway 🤷♂️
@@sonyvaioboy its 14% because it’s not welded in England , country of origin is Asia, if it was welded and made from scratch in England it would be zero tax
