Question for version 1.00.52? I downloaded it via Steam / Steamapps/ Common / DoW Dark Crusades. Yet only the Title-card is present. No new units or anything. Did I do something wrong.
You may need to toggle the mod on in the mod manager in the in-game menu. You can also download the DoW Mod Manager as it can allow you to boot up the mod (or any currently installed mod) from the launcher, as well as do a few other handy things. Also version 1.00.55 just released, you may want to check that out too! Best of luck.
This video was 11 years ago, so I would've been about 20 years old at the time. Can't say I was at either a low or high point, I was out of high school at the time and was focusing on both RU-vid and Twitch content, which ultimately wasn't the greatest option as today (at 31) I'm in College for computer systems technology. But I'm a firm believer of some things happen for a reason and I've been absolutely crushing it lately in class. I've been living with my girlfriend for three years and have never looked back since. What could you possibly be docking points for? This is almost the perfect movie, action, little bit of mystery, GREAT story, nearly perfect acting, & of course he doesn't bother mentioning even the SMALLEST reason why he's taking points away, which I despise. It's one thing if u took the time to provide even ONE reason, but to just arbitrarily knock points off WITHOUT a reason, is truly ignorant, lazy, & apathetic. I've seen this movie literally like 7x or more, it's so good it's hard to even fully understand the 1st time watching it. I'm sure like most younger folks, gotta be "contrarian" about everything. 10/10 on the movie, 6/10 on the lazy review.
It's great to see you so passionate about this film and to truly love it by giving it a 10/10 -- I think this is a great thing about opinions, they are subjective and everyone feels differently about a piece of entertainment, about media. I made this video 11 years ago, I believe I was 20 at the time and was taking an English creative writing course. I decided to post it on the channel just for fun. I was restricted in what I could talk about in the review, which is a shame, because yes, I would've liked to of spoken in more detail about aspects that I didn't like a the time. However, I gave a wholly positive review, and a 4/5 is considered a great movie. That's not even close to being contrarian, when popular opinion is that people regard the film as "okay" or "good". In fact, this is right in line with the film having a review score of 7/10 in IMDB, and even 66% on rotten tomatoes, so a 5/5 would've been me overtly praising it beyond all reason and actually being contrarian, lol. Regardless, your incessant need to insult me is pretty childish, I don't really understand the attack. If you like something, then please, by all means, watch it an 8th time, more power to you. Do I think the review could've been better? Absolutely, it's been 11 years, my opinions and style has changed. At the time, did it fit the confines of how the teacher wanted the review to be structured? Yes, and I got 100%, so I'll take the win. Anyway, ease up, relax with the insults and generally just try to be a better person. I get that your passionate, but, that's a bit much. That's actually the first time I've heard about, that would've been insane, no pun intended. Diablo 1 certainly is a title I'd like to play a second time over, but with a guide. But I will admit that it was a lot of fun learning everything on my own, and not trying to search up those guides, as I feel, like many games, you can optimize the fun right out of it.
Started watching this series earlier today, so far love it. Dark Cloud and the sequel are my favourite PS2 games, love the changes the mod makes. I wish it was compatible with Linux version of PCSX2 though, dont have a working windows PC rn. Noticed this video dosen't have timestamps unlike the earlier ones.

Guard scorpion model looked amazing but im unsure about the character models, esp with Jessie being so obviously lower quality. But why rename bolt, thunder? Thunder is a sound, bolt surely is a more correct name. So what if 8 and 9 also got it wrong?
Later in the playthrough I changed the models out for much better ones that fit the theme of the original designs and models. I think the mod author has actually now updated every single model in the game with the really nice looking chibi designs. The translation for the original is quite infamously rushed and it's true today that it was supposed to be Thunder, not bolt, as that's what's used in all the professional translations of Final Fantasy games brought to US/EU since Final Fantasy X. ""サンダー" (Sandā), which translates directly to "Thunder." However, the English localization team chose "Bolt" to reflect the visual representation of a lightning bolt rather than the sound of thunder." That being said this translation mod also struggles with certain writing techniques as well, as it's not professionally done either. So it's really just a preference. Today I'd probably just leave the translation the way it is, but Bolt should be Thunder at the end of the day is all I'm trying to say. The original translator chose bolt instead of Thunder until Square stepped in to change it to the correct nomenclature in future titles. Like Aerith and Aeris, or many other discrepancies I'm sure are out there that weren't important in '97.
Farming Tier 1 is easy, but tedious. All you had to do is to get an Unidad helicopter with the lock-on target which is mostly spawn in MOB Jaguar in Flor De Oro, General Baro's region. Roam around Flor de Oro and use the helicopter's rocket to kill Unidad on a vehicle without being detected by shooting it from far away. You will get the undetected XPs easily. In an hour or 2 hours, you can level up up to 3 levels, depends on your luck with roaming around trying to wait for the vehicles to spawn on the minimap. Why Unidad? A regular Unidad gives you the same amount of XP as killing a special Santa Blanca. Now, just think about it. An Unidad vehicle can have a max of 5 person and 1 to 3 heavies will spawn inside it. Edit: Always play on Extreme difficulty for the most XP. You can use other difficult when trying to steal the helicopter tho. You can infiltrate from the Northeast of the base and you will find a helipad that has the helicopter. Extra tip: Don't get shot down by S.A.M Launcher

@@Akabane101 i dont know about the Version you played in those 12 parts, but i started watching a few days ago when i began my own playthrough with the enhanced mod and i have to admit it feels great to play dark cloud with all those quality of life Features and New stats for weapons! Also love the fact that i can grind infinite level up powders through "destroy x amount of Monsters" sidequests 😄.
@@Oz.G That's one of the reasons why I love modding my games. It offers so many opportunities to expand on the gameplay and just tweak it enough to make it engaging and feel like a whole new experience again. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying the mod as well! :D
It's one of the great things I love about the souls series, and why I fell in love with the original. So many opportunities, so much to explore, and the cost of failure is really minimal in the grand scheme of things. Never be afraid to just try something out and explore to your hearts content!
Increased FOV just fixes the Field of View in the game to be more in-line with how 16:9 aspect ratios display on screen so it's not as stretched out looking. The added effect of this is that essentially you can also see more on screen as you have a wider angle of view from the camera. TL:DR: Camera has a wider angle that fixes the view on 16:9 screens.

I was amazed to find this mod and how recent it was when it came out! It sounds like they are still hard at work creating updates for it too and it was a real treat playing it. I hope to make more content on the updated version in the future.
They're pretty good, I believe they can build up into one of the final weapons. I'd have to check the weapon build sheet but they are solid. I mostly fish for items to slot into the weapons.
