The first time I fought Dran, I thought you were SUPPOSED to let the ground fall, because Dran wouldn’t have anywhere to land when he got tired. Didn’t manage to beat him until about a year later when I managed to look up strategy guides, lol.

Trying to make the villages look different on every playthrough is a lot of fun. I think I've always tried the hardest to do this with Norune specifically since I feel it is the most unrestrained in terms of what you can do with it in comparison to later villages. I do have one golden rule and that is to always keep the Hag near Gaffer. I just prefer to do all of my item management in Norune so I appreciate having that convenience. Definitely excited to see how you will take on Matataki this time around. Also looking forward to seeing Goro back in action!

I just recently found your channel and I've been binging all your Dark Cloud content because I grew up with the series and I still love it so much. Love your content!

Just thought I would fill you in on a pretty neat strategy I cooked up for playing dark cloud that worked INCREDIBLY well. It can cut your grinding time for leveling, and building up weapons into a fraction of the time in the end game.I was able to get roughly 200 abs every 3 minutes, so just grinding for 30 minutes makes about 2,000 abs. I'll try to break it into steps as best as I can. 1. get the bandit slingshot for Xiao 2. synthesize the bandit slingshot and use it as a floater on whatever weapon you're using. 2.5. You may want to repeat steps 1 and 2 so that all of your weapons naturally have steal on them later in the game 3. Collect bait (you can either fish with the bait obviously, or just sell it) 4. Save as much money as possible 5. Buy gems from Simba at Dark Heaven Castle to build up whatever weapons you need (if you saved level up powders you can use them here) 6.If you didn't save up enough level-up powders go to the back room in Wise Owl Forest on floor 10, there should be only werewolves back there that give 24 abs each roughly 8 spawn each time. Once all the monsters are killed in the backroom simply exit the back room and re-enter and all the werewolves should respawn. Make sure to complete the regular level first, and get the map and the gem that shows you where enemies are first so you can be sure not to wander aimlessly in the backroom. ** I had a little over 30,000 gold saved up for the end of the game and bought 10 different gems for all the weapons I needed, then went to floor 10 in the Wise Owl Forest and spent only 30-45 minutes grinding and was able to get Ruby her Goddess Ring, and synthesize 2 different weapons for some of the crazy build up requirements like Babel's spear. If you find yourself short on money floor 1-5 in the Moon Sea has a lot of moon diggers and you can steal potato cakes from them (preferably with Osmond if he has steal on a weapon) which sell for 215 gilda each. ***ATTENTION --> If you choose to grind on floor 10, don't forget to bring a healthy amount of repair powders, water, food, and Dran's feathers. Also don't forget to pay close attention to the WHP on weapons you're just using to synthesize for a quick stat boost, it's a little bit difficult to get used to after using really good weapons throughout the entire game. You don't want to lose all of your attachments to something like that... trust me. Which brings me to my last important point, save right before entering floor 10. It could suck to lose 30 minutes of grinding, but it sucks a lot more to lose your synthesized sun sword to some mediocre weapon you're working on leveling. DISCLAIMER --> This is a late game strategy obviously, playing the game this way was kind of just a way I found fun, inventory management is a pain around when you start the Moon Sea dungeon because of all the bullions you'll have saved. Play however you want, obviously no hard feelings but I figured at least some of this could be helpful.

If you build up Chronicle before fighting Dran he only takes one or two hits. My chronicle does 700-1300 depending on the enemy
