1:50 you gotta love this scene the second time... All of words are a reverse of what actions happened in theis move, till the big reveal. Yuri Orlov telling jack "say all you want to me while you can because it won;t last", is straight out of the UN playbook Jack telling Yuri "are you paying attention, oryou are delusional?" because as the rest of the movie proved, even when jack had hundred of chances to end Yuri's life, because of the consequces of the situations regarding running guns, and the normal violence that is arms dealing. He did not pay attention to the bigger picture. jack delusionally believed the law, occured before the reality upon the ground. when all other of his colleges, who through out this film, actually leave him. He went from an office block (cell), to a court room (conduct of operations), before he even started understood the experiance of his role. the coup de grace" i don't think you fully appreciate the severity of your situation".
Sadly, this is the world we really live in.....................................Justice is ONLY for those who have the money and power to get it, everyone else makes due with what they got.
It took me a while before I noticed it: He doesn’t react to the knock at the door. He barely even blinked. He knew that everything he was told by Yuri was 100% true. And his line “I’d tell you to go to hell, but I think you’re already there.” wasn’t so much for the state of Yuri’s character, but an admission of his own. He fell that he was probably the one in hell. The line was him admitting as such and that Yuri was right there with him. That’s how I see it.
The worst criminals go free because they have associates in high places that need their services. Lesson learned to late by Jack Valentine. His cause was just but the laws of reality dictate the outcome.
Moral of the story. Weapons being shipped all over the planet everyday. Somebody is always going to be the one to make all that money. Never forget the military industrial complex loves war. And so do the corporations profiting off of it.
Americans will love this film but then go apeshit without having their unlimited supply of death machines. Wonder if they know they're part of the problem. Voting it all in, buying the merchandise etc
This is only true if you ignore the difference between a man and a nation. If you ignore the difference between governments working to protect national interests and individuals who only care about money. If you ignore the distinction between a soldier and a murderer.
