My X-plane does not show monitor 2 and monitor 3. It only shows the one monitor. So I think you skipped some steps, to get all the monitors to show up.
It’s in the video. I promise. In the X-plane settings. Watch the video again. Step by step instructions for each monitor- unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re asking.
I don’t know why it’s not working. I also pretty much exclusively fly the FF A350. I now have the FF B777 v2 and am working on learning that aircraft and it works well with that one as well. Are you able to plan your pushback?
@@WingITFlightSim yes, I have planed my pushback route and then tug connected to my aircraft and they said me to release my parking brake. After that I was waiting for a while, but nothing happened, I released my parking brake by using the parking brake lever (I don’t know how to explain it)
How are you releasing your parking brake? If you’re using the keyboard commend “b”, that won’t work. You need to use the mouse or set a button on your flight stick or throttle. That SHOULD work. Also, make sure you have the latest version of the software.
Actually the statement that 15FPS is fine is not true. Anything below 20fps causes the flight sim to slow down the simulated time. So it is no longer an accurate experience. Duento this slowing of time anything below 20fps gets you kicked from services like VATSIM. Low 20s is fine for aircraft that turn slowly. But for more agile aircraft you need more frames.
Maybe I should clarify because you are correct. When I said that, I meant just in the flight sim (X-plane) itself, not using Vatsim or other service. If I’m just in X-plane and running 15 fps, it looks fine; i.e. no choppiness or APPARENT delay. But you are absolutely correct. Anything below 20 fps and you’re not operating in real time and will get booted from Vatsim. 😊
You can’t really do a “walk around” per se. There is a “walk around” plugin though. I haven’t tried it. To look around the cockpit, you can use your joystick, usually there is a preset to scroll views around the cockpit. You can also right click and that will let you look around the cockpit.
I had SAM jetways working, but then is stopped. Haven’t been able to get them working again. But it’s ok. The XP-12 jetway works just fine. Thanks for the comment and glad it’s working for you. 🙂
@@WingITFlightSim I had the same issue, I switched to a new SAM after the latest version of XP12, this product is called Open SAM, which replaces the original one.
I have a three monitor setup on my MSI Aegis Gaming Desktop, with 13th Gen Intel i7 with 16gig RAM, as well as an 8 gig Nvidia 4060 GPU. I must add that I have overclocked my machine using the MSI Afterburner, and turned off HAGS in order to optimize performance without sacrificing FPS. My x-Plane graphics settings are set to very high in almost all categories. ( I like a high quality imagery during my flights). In my unscientific test, I used one monitor for London England, since it is extremely graphic heavy and I was able to get between 40-60 FPS sometimes even slightly higher. After using all three monitors, however, my performance took a deep dip down to 15-20 FPS in London. Sometimes slightly better. The good news is that in most world scenarios, the three monitor setup was able to tackle up to 30FPS. Overall I am happy with the performance, even when it occasionally dips down to 15 FPS. (...almost forgot to add that the three monitors are setup for 2k not 4K... I am not entirely sure that my current system setup would be able to handle the 4K load at all.) Just my two cents worth.
Great comment and thanks for taking the time for such a thoughtful comment. I am currently on M1 Ultra Mac Studio with three 2K monitors.I have some settings turned up to max and some pretty low, especially shadow settings. These particularly eat the frame rate. I get between 18-24 fps on the ground, depending on the airport and 25-30 in the air. Waiting for M4 Mac Studio next year since there isn’t going to be an M3 Mac Studio or Mac Pro.
I was thinking about getting that A350 but I ended up getting the new 777 v2. I also found out that FF is making a new A350 from scratch, so I’ll wait I guess.
Thanks. But it was actually an utter disaster! 😂 Somehow we lost most of our footage and salvaged this from it. It was supposed to be completely different.! 😂
Hey Richard, greetings from Grand Rapids, Michigan. My name is Randy and I am a long time XP user as well as a Commercial Pilot and CFI-I. In short, I have been reviewing your presentation on setting up multiple monitors in XP12. I've currently been using two 31" monitors with a third smaller monitor as an instructor station. However, I'm helping another pilot friend of mine set up three 31" monitors on his new XP12 system. We followed your advice and - at no surprise - found the process to be a LOT more involved than just setting up the Lateral and Vertical Fields of View to get an accurate, coordinated three monitor depiction of a cockpit view. That said , are there any other videos or literature that you can recommend for us to appropriately tweak the multi-monitor process? Would be more than willing to share more information with you if you are able and willing to help ;) Thank you Richard and best regards, Randy.
It definitely can get more complicated depending on what you’re trying to accomplish. 😂 Other than playing with the settings, including the others that are in that settings screens, I’m not sure that I have much more advice. Sorry. If I think of anything else, I’ll let you know. Happy flying (real and sim) and stay safe up there.
@@WingITFlightSim Thanks Richard. BTW, I've created a spreadsheet to include all the parameters involving the "Graphics/Monitor" settings. Should you wish to receive a copy, simply forward me your email address. Thanks again! Randy
Not so good when the Graphics screen does NOT show anything more than a single monitor. Does No Good. This part is self-explanatory --- does NOT tell how to get the GRAPHICS page to recognize multiple monitors. FAIL
That’s not a GRAPHICS page issue within x-plane. That’s a computer issue not recognizing all of your monitors. We can’t show everyone how to connect monitors to the myriad computers that are out there. Good luck.
@@WingITFlightSim Computer thinks it recognizes all monitors and does display data on the different monitors --- but X-Plane only displays on the primary monitor (whichever one is chosen to be that one) { the other monitors just display the "home" screen}
I have a hard time controlling the FF350 I feel like it is either unresponsive, either unstable. Do you use an edited response curve for the the pitch ?
I do not use an edited response curve, but that may be a great idea for you. Maybe I should use and edited response curve especially for the rudder which seems a little sensitive. Great question! Thanks so much.
Hi, Thanks for the short tutorial on the FF350. Last time I tried it out was initial release without SID/STAR which limited my flightime with this aircraft. When will the full flight video be available? I'm guessing you'll go through flightplanning - including SID/STAR?
You’re welcome. I love this aircraft. My only issue is, I wish Flight Factor would update it to work natively on Apple Silicon without having to use Rosetta. I guess we’ll have to do a full flight video. 🙂 I haven’t done one because I wasn’t sure if people would watch such a long video. Apparently, I was wrong. 😂 Thanks for the comment AND suggestion.
@@WingITFlightSim Lets hope FF and Toliss makes the upcoming 350 native to Apple Silicon - translation layers are newer fun, even though Apple has done a great job. Windows runs better on an old M1 than my ARM based Surface Pro X. That says a lot :) I've been out of flight sinning for nearly five years now but looking to get back in, and the 350 is just such a technical marvel and a beautiful bird.
Nice Review, thank you. All that thought and engineering design and yet they put a standard connector socket lead on the back. Which is great if you set it up and never ever have to move them are get near the lead, but I'd of thought they'd of designed a better solution whilst they were on an over engineering kick, or at least something where the cable was secured into position.
Excellent point. The only other thing is they really need to be bolted down. Otherwise, they WILL move. Thanks for watching and thanks for the excellent comment.
@@WingITFlightSim well you can offset different views/fov on different screens on x plane but when you move your main screen they still move, it would be nice if you could lock a screen facing what you need to be viewed.
@@WingITFlightSim I want the overhead panel to be on one big tv above me. Three monitors in a row for the instrument panel(this becomes an issue because you can only offset your view from one point making the screen view on the left and right screens at an angle and it’s unusable ). It shouldn’t be that hard… it seems like something so simple but I can find an answer besides networking computers with each screen having its own pc and multiple copies of x plane…
I don’t think it’s possible. I’ve tried that . I would love to be able to do that. When I first set up my 4 monitors, that’s what I wanted to do, but haven’t figured out a way to get it to work. That WOULD be perfect. If you can figure out how to, PLEASE let me know. 🙂
Open your flight in the dark to see if it comes on with your keyboard shortcut. If that doesn’t work, go into SETTINGS, then KEYBOARD. Type in the search bar FLASHLIGHT. That will tell you what key is set for your flashlight. You can change it there as well.
Hi I will buy this product soon I need to know do they flip or move on the ground not bolted?? Ive seen in another video that the weight and larger shape on the back makes them super stable even with heavy use even not bolted on. Thanks
@@WingITFlightSim yea!! My thrustmaster 16000m kit with the plastic rudder of them have served me since 2015 in Il2 great battles every days I need to retire them Its my 1st pro kit
Hey man! I have a question! How do I save different monitor configurations for different aircraft. When I switch to my other one, I have to change all of the settings back.
I have tried to figure that one out myself. Every time I restart my computer, I have to go back in redo my monitor settings. I think it’s just a bug in the software.
