I just had an air shock fail on me and they OEM replacements are on back order. I got one that fits a 2013-2018 and installed it. It’s is exactly the same with the exception of some plastic clips that you need to break off at the top of the air shock. Amazon less then $100 and delivered the next day. Install less than a hour.
I just put this exact (almost) unit in my 2012 RAM. There is one SOB bolt to remove the old stock and its easier to just pull the wheel well off half way to get to it. The install went great up until the pvc hose. My model is different and required a hose clamp to secure. Lastly put the filter on before you install the Hose & Box because it wont fit without forcing it.. maybe just my 2012. The instructions are in red with a ! regarding the Negative Disconnect. It took me over 3 hours but it always takes me longer doing this stuff then you guys. I took if for a short spin about 15 miles and once I hit the highway I had a smile from ear to ear. I kept the rubber side plate off mine and will install it as needed. The rumble and roar while accelerating is really cool. Cant wait to show my GF .. I am sure to get one of those cherished side looks and smile from her. If I get better gas millage well that's good too. Cool factor is a 10.
I also had to replace front bearings on my 16 Silverado, I also tow some pretty heavy loads between my 8700lb rv, and a 300gal IBC liquid tote, so I'm sure that didn't help
Read once that with a Ram, you should shift your truck into all drive settings at least once a month, supposedly this helps keep the systems in working order. Not certain how true that it is, but have been doing it just in case.
I have a 19 platinum expedition I think it so under power we took our first road it feels slower than slow the truck said 75 but feels 35 wife said why I was driving so slow and the brakes doesn't feel safe if I was in need in a vehicle at the time I think I won't get something else
i just bought a 2023 C4500 crew cab 4x4 84CA with a monroe ProTow skirted flatbed... it rides WAY better than the 2016 Denali HD that I traded in... might be the monroe air ride cab mounts. the interior is identical to my old denali minus the leather, cooled seats, sunroof, nav and dual zone ac, and power rear window slider. prolly do a Katskins leather interior and 245 rubber...
Very encouraging hearing your experience as I plan to buy a used Ram 1500 within the next year. I live in Montana where it gets extremely cold and snowy every winter. For this reason I have never considered air suspension from any manufacture as they all seem to suffer in cold climates.
My 2019 Laramie is experiencing the exact issues. I replaced the battery and it now has a random parasitic draw on the batter that is severe enough to drain a completely charged battery in 8 hrs. The alternator checked out fine and the truck has been left at the dealership until they can "catch" the random draw occurring. After 2 weeks, the dealership informed me that they believe the passenger side mirror is causing the issue. I'm hoping they are not just firing the parts cannon at it and hoping this fixes it.
Do you recommend this truck for a daily driver? I am looking into getting one it is 30k with 65k miles I won’t be towing much at the moment just want a nice truck possibly will get a jet ski that’s all
Did you hear pressure relief (pshhhhhh) when dropping or starting up first thing in the morning? I do occasionally idk if it’s from temp change??? 2019 Limited 43k on it
I have a 2019 1500 Laramie and it’s always something with this truck. Every time I fix something I think “that’s gotta be the last thing for awhile “ The last 3 months I’ve replaced the water pump, right rear brake light, and now this. Btw if your dash ever shuts off and just blast your defrost full blast it’s a bad ground in your right rear brake light.
Hoe do they figure trucks are worth 60,000 80,000 90,000 dollars ? A truck is a work horse . Carry , pull , drive through anything. A tank . I miss the good old days
I changed my 2022 Ram 1500 5.7 limited trans fluid at 40,000 miles and added a PPE PAN with Amsoil trans fluid I did the Blackstone oil analysis, and it was perfect to be expected I will change it again at 80,000 why because I want to it is that simple, congrats on the 240,000 miles on original fluid. I drained and filled the coolant not because it needed it I just wanted to I'm 67 this will be my last truck and now it's my hobby. About your bumper, you may want to take a look at a front bumper cover by Ecoological Bumper Shellpz they install over your old bumper cheaper and easier. Good luck on your trans you got a good one👍
My 2019 Ram 1500 just spent 8 months at the dealer for various repairs under warranty. 61k miles. Water pump failure, coolant leaks, oil leaks,e-torque battery replacement, Transmission control module sensor failure, both rear wheel speed sensor failures and a replaced BCPM.
I have a 2018 Silverado crew cab LT hit 100,000 miles still going strong almost the same but mine has the sixth passenger seat it also has the off road too
My truck is a 2020 ram 1500 Laramie, with 20,500 miles on it and it’s having starter issues. Gonna take it to the dealership, it should be under warranty. But it has to be towed
